Just saw them last month for the first time at the Count Basie Theater. 2024. Let me tell you I had never heard of them…I CAN’T believe it.. until a few months ago by a friend of ours. It was SOULD OUT! The place ROCKED FOR THE FULL TWO HOURS, I think I threw out my back lol, I never stopped, I never had so much fun in my Life! We dragged a sister with us who really didn’t want to go BOY did she have a rockin time and was so happy she went. I love their music! So much talent so much fun! Can’t say enough! ❤️❤️❤️

The lead singer of the Mavericks, Raul Francisco Martinez-Malo was born August 1965. I discovered them just recently, in 2023, by accident. I was in another room where I could hear them playing on You Tube, in Alburquerque, New Mexico. I stopped what I was working on and walked back into the den to sit, to watch, to dance and thoroughly enjoy these talented musicians and their exceptional lead singer, and musician as well, Raul Malo. You are absolutely correct Martha, and only 13 days ago you were in there listening in mind and spirit. I will be 76 in a couple months time. My feet still taps the floor and i have a little imaginary woman to have a little dance. My little Yorkie terrier, Ruby, died in December, otherwise we would have a bit of a dance together. Your write up certainly made me feel to say, it is great to enjoy music and sounds that makes us feel good. The Mavericks is a band and a group that is so special and professional that if I could afford the extravagance and the financial luxury , I would go the miles to hear and see them perform. The beauty of KZfaq we can switch on to a concert right into our home. I am listening to this concert they recorded in 2013, and I am feeling great to be there, listening and enjoying the great inspired show. I am going to get a glass of Glenfiddich whisky on ice, and soak up the illusive atmosphere and make believe that I am there. The days and time goes away so fast we have to be grateful to God for the ability and good health to enjoy a bit of living alone as family togetherness is only an illusion and is not in their minds and heart to embrace a little enjoyment whilst still alive. Thanks to the Band, they are humorous, grossly entertaining and great fun to the ears and our sights. Have a great weekend where ever you are.

It's still my dream to hear Mavericks live. Omg, they have it all...brass, 'squeezebox', most fun keyboardist ever, great others in accompaniment and of course the fabulous voice of the one and only Raul. They are the entire package of make you get out of your seat and on your feet band. I'm 68 yo and they still make me dance, lol!

I've never seen the Mavericks live but I did see Raul Malo open for John Prine in Indianapolis. He was a last minute stand in and couldn't believe how well his music was received. It was just him his guitar and his voice. We let him know how impressed we were with his songs. Multiple standing ovations and when he came to the end we were all clapping and cheering him until John Prine motioned him back out to do an encore. We were all blown away with how good he sounded and the louder we clapped and cheered the more he poured it out. Just incredible. I'm sure he still remembers it too.

Saw them 2 weeks ago in Royal Oak. I have to say one of the best live concerts ever. Absolutely impossible to sit still and not dance the whole time. I have listened to the Maverick’s for years, but to see them live gives you a better a appreciation of their talent

This concert was shortly after I went to see them at a small (sold out) venue in Capistrano. I decided to sit outside the stage door and listen with my dog. When they took a break the whole band came out and Robert Reynolds came right over, and after chatting for a while, invited me to be his guest at an upcoming show in LA! Of course I went but sadly it was the last time I saw him play with the band!😪

That wee man with the hat on double bass is right on top of it he's an exceptional double bass player just love the tone from a double bass you can't beat I saw them in Glasgow a few years back the mirs said she didn't like that type of music 10 mins into the concert she said she'd never heard a band like the the whole group is bang on the money just an amazing band if you ever get the chance to see them go see them and you'll know why people say there underated very underated in my opinion

Thanks for bringing this back around! I was excited to record this in 2013 and really peeved when I accidentally deleted in some years later.
