The Mazda CX-90 SUV Is a Shockingly Good Deal

The Mazda CX-90 is a new, fancy, 3-row Mazda SUV that replaces the outgoing CX-9. Let’s test drive and review it!
In this video, I’ll walk you through 5 things I love about the CX-90 and one thing I don’t love so much. Stick around for a few fun facts, too!
This $59,000 CX-90 Premium Plus is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV), with a 2.5-liter engine, 323 horsepower, and an all-electric range of 26 miles. It’s a 7-seater with a third row, and while adults won’t want to ride back there long-term, they’ll fit. The interior is high-class and luxurious - especially for the second-row passengers and their captain’s chairs - and driving the CX-90 makes you feel like you're in a much more expensive car than you are.
Thanks for watching my KZfaq channel. Enjoy the drive!

What's your overall grade of this car? A-F
@AlanisKing
@AlanisKing 3 ай бұрын
Good q! I haven't been doing that in my "5 Things" videos, but I guess it is expected now : ) - Exterior: B (within context of what it is and its competitors). Always loved the front, but the little bulge area on the back is weird. - Interior: A! Stunning! - Performance: B- for what it is. It's not fast and it's not slow, but the one thing that I don't love is how it sounds when you accelerate. It's wimpy! - Value: A. Feels way more expensive than it is. - Would I take it on a road trip? I did, and it was great! - Overall: B+ (again, within context of what it is and its competitors). I base this value on the average of the scores rather than my feelings, which is actually why the GR Corolla wasn't as high as it made me *feel*. On feeling alone, I was tempted to do an A- on this one. I really love it!

I'm so sorry for the bit of wind noise and harsh contrast on the camera in this video! We recorded this one about a month ago - before the latest manual Supra review - and we did it with our old camera and mic setup. (We bought new equipment for the channel!) Everything from this point forward will be on the fancy new setup : )

That is ALOT of space between the engine and the radiator. It looks like it's technically a front mid-engine car, is that what it looks like in person? Also, I bet that red looks so much prettier than it does on video

For $59k, I'd expect a power rear hatch. That seems like a miss. Quality looks great. The interior looks very expensive. I'm just bummed that the public only buys SUVs now, so these specs couldn't be in a nice sedan. Also further proof that "economy cars" are just about extinct. Great review.

Great video as always. The CX-90 seems like quite a nice car, although I would prefer the inline 6 version. If only there was a sedan verson. I drive a Mazda6 and I quite like it. A sedan version of this would be more luxurious and would be nice with an inline 6. Maybe a Mazda9?

How do you enter the rear seat from the outside? Would Love to see your knee room back there relative to your hight. How big is the cargo area compared to a Teluride? Would love to see it without you in it, not that there’s anything wrong with also seeing you in it. Did you mention the other engine is a straight six?? That’s a big deal. Love the energy and personality but need more facts and comparative specs. Seems like most of the reviewers with style, lack in content, you could fill a niche

One of the few cars on this channel I actually got to drive for an extended period of time, and I already own one of the newer Mazda sedans. I love what Mazda is doing style wise and quality wise. I think the only thing that was a bit unsettling about this truck is the 9(?) gears it has for the automatic. I will say I’m a car guy more than trucks/suv, so maybe I’m not used to it. I also thought the lane assist was a little strong (like it would resist slightly just to make a lane change), but I would turn that off anyway. Aside from that, I really love this truck. Looks amazing, comfy, and I definitely want one. They have this nice color called “platinum quartz metallic”, looks way better in person than it does in videos. I think the red looks kinda worse than their previous red for the ‘18-22 models.
