Couldn't stop laughing when the fusion reactor was playing ping pong with Spider-Man.

That boss fight gave me a love of ragdolls but a hatred for water.

Shocker uses vibration generating gauntlets, and his suit is an insulator, no electric powers, or powers in general. Also Peter Lurie (Vulcan Raven) And Tasia Valenza (Sniper Wolf, Arkham's Poison Ivy) and Tim Miller (Deadpool) directed the Blur Studio CG cutscenes.

I know the black cat chase sections are annoying, but from a narrative standpoint her inclusion in the game is really clever. The video might mention this, but her whole subplot is a really cool reversal on the actual movie. The developers realized you can't make a game out of a movie where the Peter Parker stops being Spider-Man for a good chunk of it, so they did the reverse with black cat. I dunno, I thought it was clever.

Fun fact: Shocker's got one of the best track records when it comes to beating Spider-Man. He's not a joke or small time villain at all. Dude just gets underestimated because of his goofy costume.

So Spider-Man 2 the game ends the way it began. Not with a bang, but with an "...Oh."

I remember never beating this game cause of the final boss as a kid

I demoed this on a PS2 at Gamestop when it released & I thought the graphics were wonky _then_ ...But I still fell in love with it when I got a copy on my XBOX. But it became a classic for _me_ for the same reason GTA San Andreas did. The same reason Crackdown did. Because I could load it up & just... _escape_ In the same way I would just drive around aimlessly in GTA:SA, I would come home from school, boot up Spider-Man, & just... _swing_

Is this whole game just one big mandella effect? I SWEAR I beat this game head to toe, but with some of these bosses/features i'm just like "wait..wha?"

Hopefully Web of Shadows or Shattered Dimensions is next.

Always loved those boss battles with Doc Ock and the sun, getting ragdolled like crazy will always be incredibly fun. This game's a lot shorter than I remember it, 80% of my playtime had to be post-game it seems. And yeah there isn't always music playing during exploration. I always felt that the quiet ambiance in the city was very comforting, though definitely not realistic for NYC.

To be totally honest, a big part of the enjoyment from this game for me was the post-game completion run. Hitting all the challenge markers, time trials, clearing hideouts, etc. The actual game itself was never too enjoyable lol. The first episode of this reminded me how dead the atmosphere in this game was, which was odd as it was something i barely remember from my time playing. I got wise to it when i was young, and so I'd always have something playing in the background to accompany it, and now all my fond memories of swinging thru Manhattan and listening to Finger Eleven or whatever are tarnished by the fact that i was only doing that to keep from going insane due to lack of stimulus.

I actually kinda like what they did with Black Cat narrative-wise in this game. She was one of the few things that seemed to make Spider-Man stop moping through everything and she made him have some fun occasionally, which NEVER happens in the movies. In terms of integrating Felicia well into the story of the game, it's either this or Spider-Man PS4 (sadly, cause she's not really used all that well there either). I like seeing her in Spider-man for PS1, but she's pointless. She's probably my favorite part of this game. Also your playthrough caused a ptsd reaction remembering that stupid force pulse machine. It's complete bs and it's just there to annoy you.

I can sorta buy Doc Ock hiring goons. He's smart enough to. But Shocker *is* a goon. Why does a goon have goons?

One of my absolute favorite things about Spider-Man 2 is that, when you die, the game does not ask to reload until the rag doll stops moving. We used to dive off buildings & try to die by hitting another building to see if we could rag doll all the way to the ground. It never stopped being entertaining. The 2nd best thing is that you can spend XP on style points. They do nothing but look cool while swinging. And I'm _here for it_

I don't know if it was a bug on the ps2 version but black cat would always jump into the river and dissappear from the game for me. I had to swing around and try every building to find shocker. Her dialogue would play but she was just gone forever.

2:32 love how Spider-Man unintentionally just slams the guard down on a cop and causes him to fall back down. Be funny imagining that happening in one of the movies where he accidentally incapacitates a guard just cause he wasn't being careful with his fighting.

I think I bought this game like three times in my life never finish the story.

That fucking final boss is the worst. I’ve only finished the game once out of the numerous times I’ve played it, and it’s due to that fucking pulsating field of fuck-you. Doesn’t help that the terminals are stuck in places that are a bitch to get to and controls can become nearly impossible when trying to avoid the pulses when wall climbing. Fuck that fight.

I never understood why Doc Ock had to make a deal. Harry was in no position to negotiate. It's give Ock the macguffin or freaking DIE. Why would Ock agree to the whole Spider-Man side quest?

I remember playing this back when it first came out and the biggest standouts were just dicking around in the city trying to snatch dudes up and pile drive them off the Empire State building. But yes almost everything else was repetitive and clunky. And straight up fuck those Doc Oct sun generator boss fights! Spiderman's only weaknesses: Water, responsibilities and GIANT SUPER BOUNCY BALL SUN GENERATOR FUCK! FUCK YOU!

Spiderman 2 was a horrible game BUT it had a fun open world to explore. That's it. If you look at the gameplay "missions" they are very bare bones (almost like it was a movie game with a limited time frame) and that's what confuses me about the nostalgia goggle people. Yeah the web swinging is fun and you have plenty of things to do so you can web swing around the city. The feel of Spiderman was there. The plot, gameplay and environment was just copy pasted, cheap cardboard set pieces (points to Italian pizza music) and aside from the web stuff it was lazy and rushed. Matt-senpai you've always been 100% right about this. Now when are we gonna get the play through of Arkham Spide- I mean Spiderman 1 on the Xbox? (Dude it has kraven...come ahwn ) ;P

Man, this game is so crap. Because it tries to follow the movie, but it only uses the crap moments and all the cool ass fights are dumbed down way too much. I wonder what this game would be like if it was made by today's tech. I mean, imagine a short gameplay sequence where you play as a doctor when they try to cut the arms off and dock ock suddenly starts going postal. With dynamic lighting and an oppressive atmosphere you try to run, hide, fight off the arms while all the other doctors are being viciously murdered.
