Oh wow, this is pretty much exactly like the first Spider-Man movie game. It even uses the same soundtrack . It's like this is from an alternate dimension where they never figured out the physics based swinging so the Spider-Man 2 we all know is just replaced by a reskin of the old game.

This was the spiderman 2 I grew up with. I genuinely loved it honestly.

This honestly just seems like a really well done Spiderman 2 themed mod for the original Spiderman games on the ps1.

This almost seems more like a direct sequel to the first spiderman game-movie on the ps2, more so than the ps2 version of this game

God that background music, I've heard it so many times in EVERYTHING in late 90s to mid 2000s, like ESPECIALLY the intense track known as "Manhattan Chase". I've heard it in the Jurassic Park game, Spyro 2 in Gulp's Overlook, and Cyberchase. That brass part i've heard in the 3rd Static Shock theme.

Woah. It even has a warehouse mission that's just like the Spider-Man: The Movie game. Not just reused assets, but rehashed ideas, too.

Man, I don't know if you noticed this Matt, but they reuse a SHITTON of assets from the original Spider-Man movie game. UI, sounds, music, the FMV style, the swinging, his run animation, the hero points system, all of it is reused.

The music is so stock, I expected to hear Jeff Hardy’s entrance theme at some point.

As a guy that absolutely loved the Spiderman 1 Movie Game, even more than Spiderman 2. This sounds awesome.

Also, the music at 18:46 is the EXACT same track used in Spyro 2 Ripto's Rage during the Gulp boss fight, called "Gulp's Overlook". I thought it was familiar and had to look it up, it's the same track. It must be public domain.

Oh wow, this looks like it plays like the Spider-Man 1 game. I recognize some of the animations and sounds at least (most obviously the swinging).

I personally really liked this game. It was a fun game that was similar to the first console game and I could play it on the go. This mixed with new cutscenes made it a fulfilling experience on my end of things and it's kind of a shame you didn't ever get to really experience that.

It will never beat the masterful pc version.

Wow this version of the game is just mostly reused assets from the game based on he first Raimi film. Same music, same sound effects, even the thugs have the same battle grunts, that second area where you’re on the bridge is literally the final boss area from the other game. Fun video.

Man this was easily one of my favorite PSP games when I was a kid.

I remember beating this game in about a day or so. I thought it was ok for a psp game but man its not that memorable. I just remembered I rented this from blockbusters.

This PSP port is actually the first time in game JK Simmons voiced JJ before he voiced him in the Spiderman 3 game. Before that Jay Gordon voiced him in all other versions of Spiderman 2 and even in SpiderMan 1 on xbox.

it's so jarring hearing music from the first spider-man tie in with the music of spider-man 2 while in the same exact mission areas of the first tie in....so much copy and paste

That dramatic music was sampled in Capcom vs. SNK 2 for those cutscenes when Akuma and Rugal "fight" each other!

I was one that had both the PS2 and PSP Spider-Man 2, so I adored this game...... As long as I still had the PS2 version. Also the exclusive cutscenes in this version was pretty cool, although some characters looked like junkies. Also this is the first time J K Simmons reprised his role as J Jonah Jamson in a Spider-Man game, this version of Spider-Man 2. Lol

This wasn't even a bad game or a bad PSP game. It was pretty much DLC for Spider-Man 1 (Which is what Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro was for Spider-Man PS1) on a handheld system. Which Spider-Man 1's game was one of the best non-open world Spider-man games next to the ones on PS1, which these games took a lot of design inspiration from. You're not supposed to compare it to the console release because each version was supposed to be different. PSP wasn't supposed to get an open-world spider-man game on a weaker system. They tried to change this with Spider-Man 3 and it didn't work out well. The PC version in comparison wasn't bad because it was different, it was bad because it was a poorly designed, broken game. This version at least tried to replicate what people liked about Spider-Man 1, but just like what happened with the PS1 games, the first linear entry was better than the sequel.

I just got a psp again and may actually buy this, it looks like the ps1 games which I loved.

The actual sequel to the first Spider-Man game, they like reused a lot of the assets from the first game of you couldn’t tell what I was saying.

This looks like its ripped almost straight from the SpiderMan 1 game. I recognize almost all of the music they used is from that game, not to mention the screen after you complete a mission. Spiderman’s model looks like the same one from that game too rather than Spiderman 2 except dulled down to fit the port. The missions and gameplay are really similar too and the tutorial is exactly the same as Spider 1’s. Its just that game but replace Green Goblin with Doc Ock.
