Real question who the fuck is gunna buy a virtual house with real money same with clothes it ain't real so how will it help me I need real housing and clothes I need a real roof over my head.

Concepts like that probably aren't going to make practical sense until the Metaverse's visuals are much closer to being indistinguishable from reality and digital goods can be reliably transferred across multiple experiences including ones involving tangible use cases like education, the production of films, simulating business processes, etc. Without those practical use cases, it would seem reasonable to say that the Metaverse is "just a game" or an outlet for people to escape reality. It's probably going to take a long time before it reaches that point. By then, who knows if much of the digital assets and virtual land of today will have any value at all since they're confined to particular crypto-game ecosystems.

Digital assets could be worth more than real ones in the same way bitcoin can be worth more than gold. Easily transportable and easily storable. In the end items are worth what people are willing to pay for them whether it is CHWY stock at a 4 digit P/E or a barrel of oil at $120 a barrel. The projections at time 2:47 and time 4:29 (especially) are worth STOPPING and studying, between 50m and 100m people will have VR headsets by 2030.

One thing that I think is good about the metaverse is that it might ramp our production of super stupid shit down... It could actually help with climate change. I could be wrong though. It's all speculation at this point haha

I fully intend on using this technology to continue teaching children instrumental music. To be able to interact in their 3 dimensional home musical environment would bring a lot of value as compared to being on zoom. Computer lag time has to be eliminated though.

Why would digital assets ever be worth more than real ones though. I can see some value in it as a testing ground of sorts but at the end of the day its just a game. Augmented reality on the other hand is another story.

With the “new” emergence of virtual worlds, why isn’t Second Life referenced? They were doing these same things over a decade ago.

I'm mostly referring to the original definition for Metaverse, which usually involves the following: the convergence of physical, augmented, and virtual reality in a shared online space. Second Life and crypto-based games seem to fall outside of that definition since they don't involve the use of virtual reality or augmented reality. And they're basically video games.

Please stop shilling virtual work spaces. If the past 2 years has proved anything it's that people work much more productively in an office together, physically. You will never be able to repicate the instant 1 to 1 connectivity and communication that happens when a team is actually in a room together.
