@@4m3mory usually unpopular members aren’t as skilled as popular members, or aren’t as well marketed. popular members are usually talented members of their group that deserve the marketing that they get. there are exceptions, of course, where less talented members are most biased and more talented members aren’t, but this is the rule for most groups

Yeah when love dive won soty and armys jumped on ive and was like mnet rigged! No way ive won over bts!! ive didn’t deserve it!!! First of all, yet to come was relevant for like a month (no hate, and of course if it won soty I wouldn’t be arguing I’m no hypocrite I’m just trying to bring logic) and love dive was EVERYWHERE for months. Love dive charted for months and months and love dive stayed pretty relevant through the whole year. I really just find it odd when people are like “ive didn’t deserve soty!!!” sorry but I think they absolutely did. Gidle fans were guilty of taking shots at ive too. Tomboy and love dive were both huge songs in 2022 and both were worthy of soty. No need for the fan wars and hate. Both groups did amazing.

Some of the weirdest stuff I’ve ever come across since being a kpop fan came from grown women and the way they treat younger idols, regardless of the idols being male of female. Anybody can be creepy, but just because someone is older that doesn’t mean they can’t have a genuine appreciation for a group and their content. Most people are NOT weirdos, and that’s a fact, so lumping everyone together is unfair.

To be honest it’s pretty normal to feel attracted to idols so i don’t understand why so many people act like it was a crime. As long as someone isn’t being weird when it comes to minors, then there’s no problem.

It’s normal to feel attracted to people that portray themselves as perfect, which is an idol’s job. So that’s not a problem, the problem is only when grown adults don’t use discernement and get weird around younger idols. That’s crossing a line, something both men AND women can do. But besides that, being attracted physically ( as long as you don’t fetishize or sexualize ) or even having a small crush on an idol that is of age is really not that weird and I can promise you A LOT of the fans that fight this fight experience that too.

The kpop stans that say these things are young and don’t realize they are gonna grow up also. They don’t realize that they also won’t just ‘stop’ listening and stanning groups once they hit 18 and will probably go on to do that with younger groups too once they reach that point. The logic is very stupid and reinforces idiotic ideas, especially about men.

Younger than 15 is personally a no from me, 15 is already somewhat better. I still prefer voting for someone who’s 16/17 though, but then i feel like it depends on each trainee and how mature they seem to be as people.

Right! Iroha is one of my favorite contestants and i wanna see her debuting because i feel like she truly deserves it. Whether we vote for her or not, she’s still gonna find a way to become an idol, it’s not like we can stop her. I’m not the biggest fan of seeing very young idols debuting, but i’m not gonna vote for someone who i think deserves it less when i can vote for someone as good as her.

Myah and Yeseo where also my picks as I found them really talented. Yeseo’s professionalism when her mic fell in her Crazy cover really made her one of my pick. Also Myah was only one who stood out for me in Pretty U team. I also voted for Niki in I-Land as he was the best dancer in the show. If I find someone talented then I don’t care about their age or anything as I just look at talent.

Please don't take it wrong but the problem with old idols like yujin is the lack of popularity....people pitied her because of the group disbandment ,they wanted for her another chance but and am being honest her being a leader or a member didn't advantage that group at all....no one is even talking about her, she simply isn't popular,never did go viral, never was she the talk of the town, the problem with kpop stan is the way they think old trainee deserve to debut because they trained for years....but again if they were good they would have debuted earlier......if yujin was good she would be the most popular member with her experience but she isn't....age shouldn't really matter, u can train for 7 years and still lack stage presence cause u r not fit for that career.....its just their dream and I understand but what the point if they don't contribute to the growth of the group? Yujin didn't bring fans,she didn't increase her popularity, she barely has a position there...but she is just happy to perform and be on stage.....in the end kepler as a whole tanked and not just because of wakeone.....that group didn't increase their popularity at all, if a young trainee gain popularity we should encourage it cause it may create an ace,something like jennie,like ive wonyoung, like haerin,kazuha....etc, and not disregard their potential because of their age, u can be young like haeyin and be more impactful than yujin....or older and impactful like sakura and Irene....it's all a matter of popularity.

The problem also is that K-Pop companies and K-Pop fans normalize the ''idols are too old if they are in their mid/late 20s to early 30s'' type of thing. If I look at groups like TVXQ, Super Junior and BIGBANG, K-Pop fans today want them to disband for being ''too old and too irrelevant''. Like, are you the one to decide who disbands or not? Ofcourse not. And the fact that these minors sacrifice so much of their lives, only to be faced with hate comments and being sexualized is just... damn.

I think it also depends on how “obsessed” these older stans are. It’s weird if you’re 40 and collect photocards of a 14 year old, but it’s not that weird if you simply go to a concert/fansign because you like their music and performances. Last but not least, what personally bothers me is that nobody even cares if a grown ass woman goes to a fansign of a boy group with young members, but if it’s a man going to a girl group fansign that’s disgusting. I’m a girl myself but this type of double standard pisses me off because girls can be creepy as well.

I've seen how Niki from Enhypen (even though he is part of a group I personally don't listen to) has been sexualized time and time again and people don't say anything. I'm in shock cuz I'm like if that were a girl people would be outraged! Although this next thought is a little off topic, I cant help but be reminded of cringey and creepy situations obsessive fans put their so called "favorite idols" into. I'm not saying that all female boy group stans are weird (because they arent) but the types of things they think they can get away with is actually disgusting. For example, Vernon from Seventeen and his fan call where a fan was "arresting him for being too sexy" and demanding him to "kiss her." There's also the fan call with Beomgyu from TXT where a fan literally wrote a script for him to act like a dog as well as the uncomfortable clip of a fan shameless asking Hyunjin from Straykids to call her mommy multiple times. This is all to say that anyone can be creepy and that the double standard need to change.
