This is one of those damned if you do/don't type videos. On one hand I'm super impressed and grateful that you did this video because so much of today's suppliers don't take the time for support that Automow clearly does. And on the other hand, I'm interested in one of these mowers but the way you are talking makes me realize that these problems happen a LOT and frequently enough to feel the need to do this video. As prospective buyer this makes me both nervous and comforted at the same time. However, I have convinced me that if I do buy a robot mower, I will ONLY buy it from you all so I guess on that front you've accomplished your mission.

Hopefully the experts on here will confirm. But in my opinion based on what I have learned. You can use your phone hotspot to get it setup and allow it to download any software or firmware updates. Once it’s set up and running you can use your phone Bluetooth to control it. If you want to be able to control it remotely when you are away you will not be able to do that as the device will have no internet connection without you there. Just my two cents if that helps. PS. I’ve my Luba ordered and waiting for deliver to really looking forward to my first robotic mower.

That's a tough question. In an ideal world, yes. You should be able to setup and manage Luba 2 through your hotspot connection. That said, you will be limited in what you are able to do without being near to and directly connected to the machine and you'd regularly need to connect to it for updates. There are a few models that have 4G built-in and ready to go that you may have an improved experience with. You're welcome to contact us directly and discuss your property further. Thanks for the question.

Hi, Thanks for the helpful video. I installed a luba 5000 last week and have a few questions. 1. Is there a sleep mode in luba? I found it consumes almost entire battery capacity overnight if it is not plugged in, while doing nothing. I mow my lawn once in every 4-7 days and I don’t want to waste energy. Also, if I keep the luba plugged in all the time, its battery will be kept at the 100% changed status for very long time. This is bad for the battery longevity. I hope Mammotion provides a sleep mode feature. 2. Is there a way to limit charging? For example, charge up to 90%? This should be possible by using its app.

@AutmowRoboticMowing

These are all great points and I don't disagree with having an eco mode that we have seen on other wired models to help reduce energy consumption. That said, the battery charges at different rates depending on the batteries current level. It will charge faster from a low level and once at 100% will trickle charge to maintain dropping a few percentages and slow charging back to 100. Total consumption should only be a few kWh a month, less than or comparable to a modern TV. Regardless, thanks for the comment. We will pass along the suggestions to Mammotion and hopefully they take it into consideration.

buying my Luba this week actually thank you for the video I downloaded it I will save it. I also want to mention that the Washington other video in order to stop the weeds catching inside the blade to screw assembly as the blade spins around on the base plate they ended up taking him out and put a secondary base plate in between will remove the screws put the secondary played in there and it's put the screws back in and then the blades became in between your base and his base and it made totally total sense put a base plate in their manufacturing just a thin plastic hard plastic base plate or thin metal and then put the blades in between him and then they still swing but they don't get stuck interesting have to look for the video on der lubbe it's an interesting video thanks for what you do I'll let you know how my new mower comes to get it get a next week

SUPER USEFUL VIDEO! BTW... the bumper buttons need to be pulled back with a flat blade screwdriver 1//32" so it can engage properly and "snap" into place. That is a tolerance issue from the manufacturer. PROBLEM I HAVE: My Pixel phone with Android software, does not list the Luba, and DOES drive the Luba. But continuously complains of WEAK signal. even when standing next to it. Is there any suggestion on how to improve the strength of the signal? I only have about 8 apps that use Bluetooth and are not connected at the time. I checked these out and made Android "Forget" them, with no effect on the L:uba. The Bluetooth signal is still weak.

Lost position is not really an issue; just wait until the satellites move, sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes 20 minutes and Luba will start mowing again. If it keeps happening and is slowing things down just redraw the boundary to avoid that spot. There are areas where Luba frequently stops, gets lost and even goes out of boundary, either due to insufficient satellite reception or reflected signals, so again just redraw the boundary to avoid those spots. PS. For configuration I cannot see how it would matter if your phone is on 5GHz WiFi and Luba is on 2.4GHz WiFi, unless you have done some really weird configuration to put them on separate LANs (dividing them for guest access perhaps). I'm not even sure it would matter if they were on separate LANs providing they both have WAN access or that your phone is connected to the WAN by 3/4/5G, providing it is also Bluetooth connected to Luba, as you use Bluetooth to configure Luba's LAN connection. Certainly once Luba is connected to the LAN with WAN access you can control Luba anywhere in the world via the Mammotion server.

I have the Luba 2 10000 and I got my just under 2.5 acres mapped. The mower will mow that yard and do its thing as its mowing. Meaning, it will change directions, but it gets the whole yard. However, it will be about 32 inches short of the docking station to recharge. Why would it do that?

Just installed the 5000, and it's generally great, except on some steeper terrain - which it easily is able to do with its traction - the tilt sensor keeps stopping the device and I've to work over to it to restart. It'd be great being able to relax the sensor so that it can deal with some steeper slopes.

Very good video. I wish Mammotion was as detailed with tech support. Do you know how I can select a single grid cut N & S one day and E & W the next time I cut? I mow every other day and I don't always want a double grid on the same day. Also, what should path spacing be set for, and what is the cutting route angle?

You can you the "Customize" in Task settings/Task mode and set the "Cutting route angle" (10 degree increments) for each scheduled task. Path spacing is the amount of overlap when driving back and forth - its just user preference, I would say 10-11 is a good range.

I love my Luba 5000. I’ve had some issues but nothing a restart couldn’t fix. My biggest issue though is the victory donut this thing makes in my lawn every time it goes back to recharge. It makes nice multi point turns everywhere else so it’s hard for me to understand why it needs to mess up my lawn next to the charger. The mat they sent me only lasted 6 months

If you are an Autmow customer, I hope you have submitted a ticket for resolution. If not, I assume you may have submitted one for Mammotion. Did they have any response? Are you missing your key? I would suspect not if you are able to power it on. So far as the connectivity issues go, the key should not play a role, but if you have your spare, you could swap them out to confirm. For Bluetooth, you did make sure no other devices were paired correct? I know you may not want to hear this, but it may require a factory reset (which means remapping). It's not ideal, but if none of the advice worked starting fresh may be the path of least resistance.

If the power button is not responding, you can remove the Safety Key - this will disconnect the battery. Wait 30 seconds and replace the Safety Key then try to power on (hold power button for 5 seconds).

The thing with luba that bothers me so greatly is your paying for access and to get more acres you need to spend more for the same machine. Also if the machine is 1.25 acres max you can't do any more than that. My husqvarna has been nearly flawless since I got it and it does my whole property with no issues. Also the RTK issues may be solved for smaller yards, for my yard I don't think it would be acceptable. The different frequencies used wouldn't allow it to connect frequently enough if at all to mow the farther areas in my yard. This is where husqvarna is superior. They all cut grass and make it look sharp, thats the easy part. The hard part is making sure it does it day after day.

Will luba work under high voltage power lines running over your lawn? ?
@AutmowRoboticMowing
@AutmowRoboticMowing 29 күн бұрын
Thanks for the question. We have not come across any issues with wireless products like Luba and high voltage power lines. We had experienced some with wired units, but I would suspect the interference with the AM signal the wired products use is more likely than interference with the RTK signal.

The biggest issue/problem I have is with grass and dirt building up above the lift arms. Grass and dirt builds up very quickly (cutting 1/8 acre) the lift arms going up and downcompresses these cuttings into a very hard cake. Then Luba starts sending out left arm Is malfunction errors. Then I must remove both cutting disc, then remove each lift arms, remove the grass cake, then put everything back together. This happens between each zone luba cuts. So at least one a day. Anyone else having this type of issues?

....please excuse my ignorance- but if it has the "map" being done manually, why does it need the satellites' my robot vacuum doesn't need satellites to work....i don't quite understand...again i don't understand everything, however, again my robot vacuum doesn't need satellites to work....
@Firehazard159
@Firehazard159 8 ай бұрын
Depending on your robot vacuum, the technology is different. The thing with a house is, it is guaranteed to have walls as boundaries and older models operate by random bouncing off walls/objects. So for certain mowers, they use a virtual perimeter, to build a "wireframe" wall. But it's a huge pain to manage that wire, and random bouncing mowing/vacuuming is super inefficient and not pleasant for grass mow lines, that people like to see. The rtk and GPS pairing allow for decently precise adjustable boundaries that don't require a wire to maintain. Then you can align GPS positioning to draw even lines/pathing, so you eliminate random bounces - quicker mowtime, cleaner look. The best solution would be a roborock style mower - which uses lidar (or similar) mapping technology. This allows it to "see" its environment and form a frame of reference to map its pathing to, so it no longer requires random bouncing and doesn't require GPS. That won't work outdoors because roborocks boundaries are always internal walls. So to make a mower work, you need a boundary guide. This is either going to be GPS driven, boundary wire driven, limited to fenced areas (not great), or - similar to the luba, a manual drive that maps out the line and establishes the boundary based on the manual drive. GPS is still probably the best solution here. If they added lidar to the luba, you'd have a system that cam have the manually mapped boundary and automatic object avoidance (rather than the current awkward blind bumper object avoidance). The tech is still just new/expensive to develop the "best" system. Give it 5-10 years and you'll have a more complete solution.

Ignorance most certainly excused. We're glad you asked. It's a great question in that we do describe these for many folks as being similar to robotic vacuums in concept. Where the RTK comes into play here is, unlike the robotic vacuum, there are typically very few physical boundaries to define a lawn. We don't specialize in the vaccums, so there is some ignorance on our end with how they manage "no-go" zones, but they will use walls, obstacles and I assume some specialized algorithms to manage its location. There are some mower models that do not use RTK and are wireless, but they need a fenced in backyard (with defined boundaries) and use a secondary "no-go" system for areas without. These are typically reserved for smaller lawns at this point. I hope that helped.

I will admit I'm in the market for a reliable alternative to having landscapers from Asia doing the job in my yard. As a starter, this gadget costs two years of human 100% landscaping, which includes trimming, blowing feeding and such. Now I learn about losing satellite signal issues and having to take things into my own hands, besides paying whatever it costs... Is this company Australian, like the representative? I don't buy from that part of the world... Look! If it costs as much as two years of excellent care, it's not meant for anyone, but if is doesn't deliver accordingly, it's not for the potential buyers either... This deems the product useless (aka GARBAGE)
