Gotta defend JT here. Would agree if you said Gamechangers, but in HvV he took a huge risk that would've had a huge reward if he was right (and he honestly was partially right with Parvati). We obviously all knew what was really going on cuz we watched both tribes and experienced the dramatic irony, but if you look at it from just the Heroes side, an all women villain alliance kinda made sense in that era of survivor with Tyson, Rob, and Coach going back to back to back. We also have to remember that JT hadn't seen Samoa, and the only thing the cast was told about Russell was that he was definitely a villain. And while that's probably a clue to not give him an idol, it could also very well mean that he was just an asshole like Randy and not the strategic player Russell actually was. Idk, just my take I guess. I'd probably replace him with Danni in WaW. She was so many people's preseason sleeper pick, including Probst's, only to nuke her own game 6 days in for no reason. Great video though.

Honestly I don’t know why he gets so flack for heroes vs villains when he would’ve been almost guaranteed to be the first two time winner pick had the move gone right
@GrrumpyPants2 жыл бұрын
I feel like you also have to remember that no one had seen somoa yet, so they had no idea what kind of player russell was. it was a totally valid move.
@antoineharris21762 жыл бұрын
Here's the problem with JT's move, having no knowledge of what actually was going on with the villans tribe, you give someone you don't know a hidden immunity idol hoping that it will save him and he would join you at the merge. Even if Russell was on the outs of his tribe, there was no guarantee that he would join JT after the merge. The more likely scenario is what happened with Sandra, she stuck with the villans because she figured she was at least guaranteed final five with them as opposed to final 6 with the heroes. JT should've just used his idol at 10 himself. I know it sounds like Monday Morning Quarterbacking, however, to me giving someone you don't know an idol is a dunce level move.
@cxp0urqu01xj2 жыл бұрын
But the problem is, he was SOOOOOO wrong about the move. That would require a lot of 'ifs' to result in a successful move. Even when Amanda brought up the idea of Russell possibly not being on the outs and actually running the tribe, JT dismissed that because he was so confident he had the right perception.
@TheJackhawk2 жыл бұрын
@@cxp0urqu01xj Honestly it only took one 'if'. If Russell was on the outs, it probably would have worked. And yes, he was completely wrong about this, but imagine if he had given it to Courtney or Sandra. At the most, you get Parvati or Russell out of the game with Parvati's idol washed if she played it on the wrong person. At the very least, if Parvati plays it on the right person, all the votes are negated, Sandra/Courtney goes home, but now both idols are washed and Sandra is much more likely to flip. Idk, I guess my problem with calling him disappointing is that he tried to do something to flip the tides completely to his favor, while the remaining heroes just threw in the towel and called it a day afterwards. Much more disappointed in those heroes than I was in JT.

I wasn’t disappointed with Tony in Game Changers. He showed up with the biggest target on his back and realistically had no shot at winning anyway, so why not get a little silly with it? You could also argue that he doesn’t win WaW without learning from his mistakes in GC.

Interesting to hear your thoughts on Russell’s return in the Australian season
@IdoledOut2 жыл бұрын
Haven't seen the season since it aired, all I can recall is being glad he had an early exit because his casting was gimmicky and was going to suck up airtime from the actual Australian players the longer he was in. Nothing against Russell personally, of course, I just wasn't tuning in to Survivor AU to see an American player play.
@ariellee23292 жыл бұрын
@@IdoledOut they should’ve cast him on Game Changers instead. Everyone would’ve kept him around because he’d be too unlikable to get any votes at the end anyways. Well maybe against Brad Culpepper, who knows lol.

This could just be the fact I had zero expectations that Wigglesworth would be anything but Wigglesworth but I never found her Second Chances run disappointing. The game had changed, she hadn't, she still made a decently long run, didn't do anything immensely dumb and let's face it Second Chances had a very deadly cast as well the fans picked it! (CBS provided the short list but we narrowed it to the end). I mean did we think she was (or any of the older school players) was going to mastermind the game and run to the end?

Honestly I wasn't dissapointed by Kelly. if I'm being totally honest, she felt like a bit of a wet blanket in the first season. her only interesting trait was her back and forth on whether making an alliance and slowly destroying everyone was good or bad, which honestly just makes her look indescisive and easily manipulatable. Or she was a challenge beast on some of the lamest/easiest challenges. Sowhen she came back and continued to play like a wet blanket, I wasn't surprised.

Honestly number one should be all the old schoolers from season 40, I mean wtf was that , people? You played the season like you never watched a single season, let alone win one! rookie mistakes, naive social games, and blindsided like blind moles .. I really was so hyped for that season and I wanted more from them , But all I got was my favorite players been taken out one by one way too soon in a very underwhelming fashion..

The game got cutthroat, they were all millionaires for 10-15 years, and they were paid just to be on the season. Is it really that shocking that most of them couldn't cut muster, or didn't really care enough to give it their all?

Tasha from Second Chance I would also add to this list. I liked her in Cagayan but the fact she made it to the final three as a goat is disappointing even when she got permission from her church to truly play.

personally i think that a disappointing Returnee entails someone who comes back and does nothing. even though people like Tony and JT made a move that backfired early on, they didn't disappoint in terms of casting. The only thing that was disappointing was the fact they went out so early. Personally, i would include "Disappointing Returnees" such as Brenda Lowe (Season 26) Erik Reichenbach (Season 26) who both (imo) had alot of potential, and Jeff Varner (Season 34) for what happened in game changers instead of Yau, Tony and JT Still love the content

We had to have Tony's awful Game Changers game to get his WaW masterpiece.
@spencerclark47262 жыл бұрын
Maaan the "Tony is GOAT" stuff gets old so quick. Dude wins Cagayan mostly by luck (thanks to Kass's flips and irrational RI-esque Brob's cult behavior by Trish and Woo all season long) and then loses instantly on GC to the point where absolutely nobody on WaW thinks he's a threat and everyone thinks he's a goat until like 2/3rds through. If Sandra's two wins were extremely lucky, so were Tonys.
@LeoLeoLeo12P2 жыл бұрын
THANK YOU! I really don't get all the Tony hype. He was just lucky to be in a season where there were only 2 other people playing the game (Spencer and Tasha) while Kass was doing all the dumbest moves she could and Trish and Woo were the greatest goats ever. Tony's game is just over the top and in your face, but that doesn't mean it's a great game.
