HILARIOUS SCANDINAVIAN COOKING! In this video we are by a Norwegian fjord preparing the Norwegians favorite summer food. You only need 3 ingredients. One of them is almost fresh and slimy insects from the sea. Another is creamy and luxurious and the third is a sticky secret - that will make the dish pop. This simple plate puts you right in the lovely summer mood. It’s also a very smelly meal, with a stench that will stay on you for hours after eating.
Norwegian in general are found of prefabricated food, but this is an exception. Here we will cook from scratch. So, patience is very important. We will do a lot of peeling and contemplating.
This hysterical and quite quirky cooking video was recorded on a beautiful summer day in Oslo, the capital of Norway. But Ronald, the cook, seems to be the only one to appreciate it, dressed in shorts and sunglasses, while everybody around have their warm rain clothes on.
You will learn the whole recipe and all the tricks that make this taste good. Ronald will explain, with the help from a critical and skeptical Mads, all the steps. And at the end he will show you how to eat it. He tries to avoid making a mess, but he can't do it. The food will stick to his nose and the eating noises might feel a bit gulping.
You will also learn a lot about life in Norway, it’s culture, it’s people and way of life through the conversation between Ronald and Mads. They will talk about how this dish make Norwegians relax, open up, becoming social and start talking to each other. You will also learn what the favorite conversation topic in Norway is.
This video is perfect if you want to travel to Norway and need some real insights and inspiration on what to do and eat in this country. It’s also a video for all you foodies out there, looking for a unique and trendy new dish from the Nordic cuisine. If you are a foreigner living, working or studying in Norway - making this dish and inviting friends over will make you more accepted and loved by Norwegians. If you have Norwegian DNA and are craving for some heritage and connection with your motherland, this meal will give it to you!
Thanks to all watching, subscribing, reacting, sharing and engaging. We love you all.
Summer, fun, life in Norway - always fun. Learn the Norwegian mentality from a inside guide. Native lesson.

Mark McAuliff This morning on news, since it is tourist summer season, our beaches white sand and so picturesque...the news keeps us informed of the “lake” (lake Michigan, Superior and Erie) think of a hundred mile lake with 2 to 15 foot waves for surfing. But they warned today the temperature is 45 F degrees and deathly hypothermia can occur in minutes. And Michiganders are already out there swimming and cavorting. Exciting summer food here is lukewarm mushy hotdogs on a cheap bun with a ton of chili meat and sauce topping, with onions too. Gag me with a spoon! There is not one hamburger in Michigan that is thick and juicy- they are about 3/8ths of an inch, always cooked to a delicious turn ( dried up and edges rolled up). A hot item in (I cannot begin to describe a common eatery...) is a olive burger. Those olive green sliced olives floating in vinegar I think? hoch hoch hoch.

Funny that your Grandmother called shrimp "bugs". That's a very kosher way of regarding seafood. Worked in a kosher meat kitchen for years and often discussed religion and food with our mashgiach. The idea of eating shrimp, lobster and crab appalled him. He called them the bugs of the sea. He compared crabs with spiders. I told him if spiders tasted like crabs I was going home and searching for webs with a frying pan of hot butter on hand.

@@regularfather4708 Sadly you are right. I lived in Maine as a child so my memories of Maine and the discovery of Architecture, food, and well the world in general was magical due to being raised in Maine when my dad was stationed in Brunswick back in the 1980s. Clams and Lobster was a new thing for me and most certainly MAINE. Funny enough, I did return to Maine as an adult only to find that yes, a lobster roll was $13 and some people called me NIGGER!! from their pickup trucks as they drove by as I walked and reminisced on my childhood home.. A sad and abrupt ending to my childhood magical place.. But the unspeakable physical beauty of the landscape especially from the air as the plane landed in Portland in fall, and the idealic small town architecture scenes, make it irresistible for me and I want to return, now older, wiser and more cautious about the evils of racism, even in magical MAINE. The food is still tops as far I can can remember though ,yes.. too expensive. I am Puerto Rican so the food and culture is night and day between Puerto Rico and Maine and I lived in BOTH extremes! Clams were cheaper when I was a child as was lobster.. What is it now in Maine $25 a lobster? More? Eating shrimp and clams is more my budget though lol! Good times :D

10 years ago I worked as a promo/salesgirl and to have free lunch, I went to supermarkets with free taste booths. One holiday season I fell in line for like 4-5 times just to have free spaghetti. Portion size was small though. Life is tough!

@@lolaaponte7022 lol!

Crawfish boil! Put at least 10 pounds of crawfish (fresh water shrimp) in a pot of water with spicy Cajun seasoning, potatoes, and corn on the cob. Boil together until done. Scoop it all out onto the center of a big table outside. All your friends grab a beer, sit down, and dig it. Fun!
