Did you know that there is a fourth Prismriver sister? We all know Lyrica, Lunasa and Merlin, but few, very few know the mysterious fourth: Layla Prismriver!
She apparently appeared in the omake of Perfect Cherry Blossom, but literally no one knows what she looks like... well, not until the community gave her in appearance! A pandora's box opened of lots of cool things... what things? I dunno you gotta figure it out.

Hear me out, This is a social experiment video, so what I want you to do is to draw or mention something about Layla Prismriver nonchalantly in whatever place you go to. Whether it be the Touhou discords, Twitter or even on Tumblr (yoinks), anyway we can spread the word about her would be absolutely hilarious!! So ya, if I see a Layla cosplay at next Touhoufest that is how we know we have won.

Tbh, I think she works best as a background-piece. I like the dark and tragic idea of a girl who couldn't let go of the past and left her creations that really only exist to play music without a purpose. And that is pretty much where it ends. Even them expanding their band is ultimately tied to playing music.

Layla makes the Prismriver sisters so much more profound and wholesome than what is to be expected from such a premise. Imagine being summoned into existence as reforged copies of someone else. Imagine that person projects her feelings for someone else onto you, then dies to be re-united with her 'real' sisters in death, leaving you behind. I'd expect the reaction of the 'fake' Prismrivers would be resentment to their creator and their existence, but they don't appear at all so. The three of them have continued Layla's legacy by creating new music, and are one of a handful of Touhou characters that are not static, but have experienced growth by incorporating Raiko into into their troupe. I wish these aspects were explored more, and think it starts with re-introducing Layla to the fandom. Btw does this mean there are technically 7 Prismriver sisters?

I am pretty sure when Layla and her family was still alive, Gensokyo was not established yet, it was just a random mountainous area. It is unknown if the time period her family lived in was before or after the Youkai Expansion Project, but only way after that, when the Barrier was constructed was Gensokyo called “Gensokyo”. The place (a Western mansion) their family lived in got abandoned, and I assume (correct me if I am wrong) it got transported into Gensokyo like how the SDM was, since it was forgotten, bringing the three poltergeists with it Edit: That makes it three Western mansions in Touhou, the first one being the place Kana was haunting, the second one being the SDM, and the third one being the Prismrivers’ place

I assumed it was already established, but that the mansion appeared in Gensokyo long after Layla's death as it became forgotten.

Technically Prismriver sisters aren't japanese mythological creature. Poltergeists and tsukumogami aren't the same. Poltergeist is spirits controlling/possessing things & a tsukomogami is things gaining a soul. Love that Raiko combine those 2 tho she is a thing given life controlling things (her modern drum set)

Maybe mima,or maybe because white,black and red and the colour that remains is blue,or purple.also white hair,black hair and yellow and what is opposite of yellow,green.

@@Reimu_hakurei_vibing_i_r12345 yeah, it makes sense. And green was quite a popular hair colour for anime characters in the 90s/00s (her design looks so very 00s lol). Perhaps a popular artist designed her and it then caught on from that.

3:59 FANTASY MAIDEN WARS CAMEO! Even it was brief, at least she got a good story appearance in that series too, and they even made her a map sprite in the NG+ update.

I think a big way to help would be if someone who knows Japanese would translate the only hentai doujin I could find of Layla. Either that or make lewd fanart because everyone enjoys a spooky green haired girl.

If Mima and the PC-98 versions of Reimu and Marisa can get into Lost Word, I think there's a chance that Layla can appear too. We did just recieve an awesome looking costume for Merlin with extremely flashy attacks and a boppin' remix. So who knows if this green-haired girl will get some love.

I haven't played LW in a bit, did the PC98-Reimu and Marisa actually go anywhere yet? Because them showing up seemed contradictory to how they basically confirmed that A1-A5 do not exist.

Also the person who said it is mima's theme is wrong because that song is Marie's theme from SG I voted for Layla in the Touhou popularity poll,so yeah,I knew about both Layla and youki and voted for them to see em again in a manga .Leila is persian pronunciation of the word layl,means night(lol).or the lover in one of the Arabic folklore Why is she cut in half?

Nice video on Layla! While I do believe she is very cool, unfortunately I do not think too much about her, despite the Lunasa, Lyrica, and Merlin all being in my top 20 Touhous. Although, I recognize your call to action to bring more attention to Layla, and I will try to do that at least with myself! She's already connected to some of my favorite characters (as stated before, I am a large fan of the other Prismrivers), and I can get unreasonably attached to very minor characters (I am a insane Rin Satsuki fan), so I will aim to enjoy Layla more! And just talk about her more in general I do already have a cool headcanon with Layla and her sisters, relating to how Lunasa, Lyrica, and Merlin learned how to play musical instruments only after Layla's death. It's that Layla herself was a musician that played the instruments that the other three sisters play now (piano, violin, and trumpet). After Layla's death, the other three decided to each learn an instrument of hers to carry on her memory. It's just a neat thing I thought of a while ago and I feel it's worthy to share here while talking about Layla

You could said that Layla became a quarter of the person she is. I know my jokes are half funny, unlike her. Anyway, as Touhou lore newbie, it's amazing how big is everything about this fandom.
