Loving the analysis of topics that cover a wide array of genres and mediums. It's so interesting how this particular story trope is spread across so many generations and cultures that have their own values and ideas of the "modern" or "perfect" woman.

American Dad had a very interesting take on this kind of trope, Steve wanting a date for prom uses CIA technology to make an ideal date, however not through cybernetic but through genetic editing. He finds the girl he is finds ideally attractive and uses her DNA to clone her, however once she’s cloned she’s not fully grown she’s a child who is rapidly growing over the course of a few weeks he plans on raising with the intention of getting laid at prom. Steve loses his initial goal of getting laid and he ends up viewing her as a daughter.

I really appreciate the breadth of stories referenced in this video and how you track the evolution of the original idea. Your conclusion, tieing this to modern life and how people seek relationships, is thought provoking. Thanks for making this.
