i agree but even now , it is better conditions than our parents and grandparents lived with. We do need to balance the wealth versus income problems from shutdowns. We have an easier life working longer doing more complicated things than menial labour. I think corn could be considered labour without issue. Higher mental load , lower physical load for some. For others, the weather changes make the physical load harder. Things that appear easy from the onlooker could be much harder than presented.

An irrelevant degree will lose out to focused working experience within a field, but a relevant degree makes you a lot more attractive as a prospect. There are parts of the US, especially big cities or abandoned towns that literally look worse off than actual african tribes, but the amount of people living like that is absolutely tiny.
