Strangely they always get better. I'll have to dig out the M&K's, Arendals, BW's, Focal, Utopia & Sopras, Dali's, Perlistens, R and S series, Martin Logan's, ESL & Motion Series, XTZ's, Kef's, RSL, Ascendo's and compare them to the RBH's. So glad they gave me all those systems for free so that I can make the comparison video.

If it was sponsored there'd be a pop-up on screen indicating it as such. It's a KZfaq requirement that you must disclose otherwise you can lose your channel.

Let's clarify. I've run through many many setups through the years. They last about a year maybe less. It's my full time job to listen to these speakers. At the beginning I bought my speakers but I eventually got manufacturers to send them to me. No monies ever exchanged hands. I may link to best buy, crutchfield, audio advice, dream media etc. That doesn't make it a sponsored video. And who cares if it is. A lot of people make their living with sponsored deals. I've done sponsored videos but this ain't one of them. RBH comes highly recommended from Audioholics, whom I also work with. Almost every Audioholics reviewer has a pair or more and they swear by them. Dream Media sells them so why wouldn't I mention them. As far as a downgrade, have you heard both speakers to make that assessment? What makes you think that way? I'm curious. And be prepared, I'm gonna have many other speakers come through this theater. Which means I'm gonna have to store all of these speakers with the 35 dozen other speakers I've reviewed in the last seven years. So glad they let me keep everything but I'll be running out of storage space fast.

RBH is in no way a downgrade, I have listened to both extensively, including in my own home and RBH is in no way a downgrade.

We all know about your ties with Gene, Shane, and RBH. Would have been shocked if you said otherwise.🤷‍♂️

What’s interesting about the partnership and direction. And what makes you think it’s a downgrade. Have you had first hand experience with both to make that comment? And I’m sure you’re aware there will be plenty more theater speakers that make their way in my theater this year and beyond right?

Look at the specs. A single AMT tweeter and 88dB sensitivity?? I’m somewhat biased towards high sensitivity/high output speakers for HT use. I’m sure the RBH are probably great sounding speakers for low to moderate volume levels. Ascendo is more my cup of tea is all. Either way, I’m still curious to see the final install.

And I can almost guarantee you wouldn’t be totally satisfied with the Ascendo over these ones. I clearly pointed out a negative in my review. And it’s a big one in my book. Spl ain’t everything.

He pulled same crap a while ago with denon A1H review in his theater which turned out to be his friends place. my thoughts also. he's gonna be 4 meters away from the L/R/center. hopefully he's getting those 8"variants for those three positions. those small 6"will not cut it for center channel and real gunshots hit 135db-180db and expands from 16hz-2000hz. he will have subs but cant do much over 100hz. voices start at 150hz for example

Definitely under size/spec for LCR’s if the intention is to hit distortion free reference level volume. Honestly, reference level is far too loud for home theater anyway.

If the person doing the review gets free products for a favorable review, well, that’s not helping anybody. And above all other things, they’re not being truthful to their subscribers. The complete misconduct of trust is my main complaint.

Good point. Food for thought…..it becomes significantly harder to gain additional support from your subscribers after your credibility as a dependable and unbiased reviewer comes into question. These types of partnerships will only lead to a loss in credibility for Shane. One only needs to follow this comment section to see it happening in real time.

Let me just say…I still enjoy your channel for the entertainment and to see the latest and greatest products. Simple, to get access to free products, which is perfectly fine if that is the goal. If you want to keep receiving free products you give overly positive reviews, simple as that. The PSA review is an example of no partnership and a downright hateful review. Hard to argue with all the examples still there on the channel.

I’m partnered with them because they allow me access to products I otherwise wouldn’t have access to and they get to advertise their business through me. If I didn’t partner with someone I would have a pretty dead channel with nothing to review. And let’s get real. The PSA sub has issues. It’s clearly shown in the video. If they had sent it to me I would have run it by them before posting the video as a courtesy to them for lending me the item. Free to review or free to keep, doesn’t matter. Positive reviews lead to more free products from your current partnerships, which also leads to other new partnerships. No company in their right mind would send you free products to review if there was risk of a negative review. It’s not really that complicated. Unfortunately, that is the game. I don’t fault you for it.

When you review products, express you have been looking for 'the perfect' speakers for ages, then declare you have found them only for a few weeks later to bin them it reduces the and stature you present on such matters. This reduces your respect within the field you are trying to influence. Also try to resist the personal insults when replying to such comments.
