The NEW Nest Thermostat Vs Nest Learning Thermostat!
It's time to direct compare the new Nest Thermostat for $130 USD vs the existing Nest Learning Thermostat that retails around $250 USD. There are some big differences with these Nest Thermostats so we're going to compare the two and give you more knowledge than you can shake a stick at.
It's Nest Learning Thermostat vs Nest Thermostat on Automate Your Life Tutorials today!
One of the biggest differences I've found with the new #Nest #Thermostat #versus the older generation is the ability to use the Nest Temperature Sensors on the Learning Thermostat (yep, the older one).
All of these devices can be found at Store.Google.com or at our affiliate links below:

I live in an area with high humidity and low humidity at various times of the year. I know a Learning Nest is said to be "compatible" with whole house humidifiers but will any of the Nest thermostats provide control for increasing or decreasing the humidity setting manually at the thermostat the way you would normally do with the remote mountable humidity dial control that comes with a whole house humidifier?

1:56. I am confused. Does the new, $130 thermostat have the motion detection feature where it adjusts the temperature on its own when it detects that there is nobody at home or does it not have that?

It has the ability to detect if someone is at home, but does so in a different way than the older thermostat.

Well what I am curious about is I have no internet and because of the lack of network could the nest learning thermostat still utilize functions to tell if a room is to hot or cold compared to the outside yems and still able to adjust accordingly if no internet is available. I'm only just looking into this stuff now because I now own a house and with this central air system I cannot get a well balanced temp in the house and the electric jump in cost to adjust is ridiculous.

Nest and Ecobee are very comparable now. With both working with Alexa too, it's hard to differentiate. I think Google's worked a bit on the HVAC stuff and the monitoring of the system overall, and that has me thinking they have a bit of an edge right now.

Hey Brian, I need you to test something for me please. If you have the Smart Things Button or, some type of device that can read the temperature 🌡. Now when 🤔 I create an automation on my Smart Things Button to activate to On, when 🤔 the temperature 🌡 reaches, Equal or *BELOW* 77° F. After I click Save. I noticed that the automation does not activate when the degrees was below 77° F. And when 🤔 I go back to check ✔ the automation, I noticed that, the command I set for Equal or *BELOW* has been switched to equal or *ABOVE* 77°. And every time that I set it back to equal or below 77° for my heater to come on. It switches to equal or above. Can you run a quick test for me on your side and let me know if you encounter the same problem? Cause I thought it saved properly till I went back and checked ✔. For a work around, since only, equal or above is the only option to save, for me. I had to make my come on temperature 🌡 much lower, to 70°. But can you test on your end for me please and take the Frustration out of my automation? Thanks 😊 🙏 😊. I just have my heater on a switch but, if you don't have a heater, you can use any device to come on. I just wanna see if the rule, equal or *BELOW* a certain temperature 🌡 saves. Thanks.

Only buy the Nest Pro. Im on my 3rd Nest thermostat. Even professional HVAC guys will tell you not to buy. learning my ass my NEST had a mind of its own changing the temp on its own, Even on a few occassions would change to heat from a/c with any input from me. Going to try a PRO for now. Or I just might go back to my original Honeywell. Note NEST thermostats except the PRO are all out sourced meaning their junk and prone to failures.
