The other huge advantage of coffee dates, besides minimal investment, is _easy escape._ When you drive the date to the coffee shop, you've pissed away half the point of the coffee date. You are right, but not fast enough. The minute she complains about the date, the date is over. When I was a young man, I was not successful with girls, at all. I had a very pretty girl accept a date with me. I was very excited. When I picked her up the first thing she did was criticize the music that was softly playing on the radio, then criticized my choice of clothes. My ex told me that she could find better men in an argument (what's worse was that she was referring to some guys who were flirting with her via texting she was refusing to cut contact with), so I told her to go be with those better men and dumped her. She begged me for months to take her back. Apparently, none of those men wanted anything but flirting and sex from her, so she ended up being alone. I think you will need to calibrate to your unique situation. You can't take all their advice since everyone has different situations and marriage is different from dating. Dating has lower consequences and you can get out of a bad date easier than a bad marriage.

Guilt is an important emotion, it's the motivator for a lot of action. Don't let people play on your guilt or instill their own in you. If you do, you're under their control.

It's not the marriage itself, it's her attraction to you. It is a hard job, to maintain a woman's attraction towards you in a long run. A much needed to know and you must be good and "bad boy" at the same time. My marriage was the same after about 5 years. I would really want her, but she wasn't attracted to me anymore and only wanted sex during a time close to period and couple of days after. Sometimes she wanted that much, so I could not handle it - like 2-3 weeks completely without sex and then mutiple times within 1 day. And also what I found, is that she was just really horny, not to me, but in general. So if i wasn't around - you know what could happen. It is sad, because you truly start to understand, that she is not attracted to you, unless she is literally injected with some hormones in her body.
