Drove that stretch of I-94 many years ago, but in early morning darkness so missed the cow and the Enchanted Highway. That morning shortly before dawn I did see dimly and briefly the Northern Lights for the first and so far only time, which made it an unforgettable memory.

Thanks for visiting us in ND. I drive through the north unit everyday for work. A day doesn’t go buy that I get tired of admiring our beautiful landscape here in western North Dakota. You can get permits to backcountry hike and camp inside the park. Pretty awesome!

I think I like both the North and South sections of the park for different reasons. The South was blue skies, green grass and rock formations. The North was more dramatic and more colorful rock formations! Very nice! Love the rainbow at the end, nice touch!😎🌟

We did this trip last year. It's so funny seeing the same places again. We even used the same wash barn. When your battery would not start I couldn't believe it since our alternator went out there and we had it replaced in Dickerson!

This area is so similar imo to the Llano estacado of Texas. Caprock canyons state park and palo duro state park might be places you are interested in visiting one day. If you like this place you'll love those 2 parks

Another great video! Driving in wind can be very tricky. The key to towing stability is making sure your tires on the tow vehicle are at maximum cold pressure before you start your travel day. You won't be buffeted quite so much. Beautiful full double rainbow at the end! Safe travels! Bob and Dottie

Gooooood morning Robert! Wow, these L&C trip episodes keep getting better and better! I love how green everything is. I took a road trip through that area 20 years ago but I missed out on the Enchanted Highway and had terrible weather in Medora and the National Park. I really want to go back...hopefully next year. I got a chuckle out of seen the "Tin Family" -- they remind me of the A&W Burger family. Seeing the views from the Wind Canyon trail and River Bend Overlook really makes me want to hike down to the river to check it out. Thanks again for taking us along on this epic trip. I heard you complaining that there weren’t any animals when you were at the badlands. Judging by your lighting you were probably filming close to noon. Animals tend to come out early in the morning and late in the afternoon when the temperature is cooler. Maybe that was why. Feliz Navidad.

The badlands got their name because the ground is so rough that it was very hard to travel through it by wagon without the wheels breaking it was also a good place for criminals to hide because they wouldn't be found
