The Old World Release Date and FULL Bretonnia range reveal!

Yesterday was Warhammer day and a release date for The Old World and a FULL Bretonnia range reveal!
As well as returning plastic kits for Bretonnia, we saw some brand new miniatures coming for The Old World including some awesome looking Knights on foot and a Lord on Pegasus. Not only did we get to see some miniatures, GW also confirmed that the Old World is coming early 2024 and will be one of the first big releases of the year.
Here's hoping the Tomb Kings get the same love prior to the launch of the Old World, and there is a reveal show coming up in mid-November so hopefully that's when we will see their full launch range revealed.

Great models although I'm looking forward to seeing the Tomb Kings more. Just glad we've finally got a release window :)

Two new plastic kits for Bretonnians is a great start. I think that the news about the peasant bowmen being 32 to a box is a good sign. Perhaps I'm being a bit too optimistic, but I think it's an indication that GW won't be charging ridiculous prices per model for the older kits that are returning and showing their age a bit.

I agree, hopefully the returning kits are sensibly priced otherwise people will just refuse to pay modern day prices old plastics. I’m expecting to see a lot of stuff appearing on eBay between now and release.

As someone who hasn't played Fantasy since GW gave the Brets the squat, I'm salivating at the reveals. Nothing in GW fantasy has ever been as good as the Brets, VC was a distant second and that was mostly as stylistically Brets turned undead.

There was a post over the weekend that quickly got taken down that hinted it was going to be a Feb 2024 release.

Yeah I saw someone post a screenshot on FB - the website should be like shortly, it was up at midnight with the word ‘placeholder’ on the screen but that’s it

Correction: They didn't announce a reworking into Forge World resin for any of the returning metal stuff other than the trebuchet. Chances are good for anything of similar size, but zilch for troops.

Yes, I was referring to the other larger old metal kits, similar to the trebuchet, apologies if that wasn’t clear

I didn't play WFB as a kid so I'm not fussed about this release, though I've always liked some of the high elf designs so hope they come back. The fever some people have for TOW coming back is a bit strong, I think they might be expecting too much of this release, I'm sure it won't be a flagship product like 40k or AoS, it'll probably be a secondary one like 30k, the epic scale games etc... so it makes sense all the characters are resin/metal/old plastic kits dug up from storage to save money. Hopefully it'll be good regardless and people will enjoy it!

Yeah I didn’t really play it, had one or two games that’s it, but I did read a lot of the army books and lore, i loved that side of it, so gameplay wise I have no expectations whatsoever! I’m quite happy with what they have shown including the old stuff, I don’t mind that. I’d still love to get all the High Elves from the 8th Starter set, they are stunning.

The greed of Games Workshop will destroy them. In my opinion, one of the most important motives for closing “fantasy battles” was the increased aggressiveness of fantasy fanboys towards new fresh people. All the elitists, grognards, gatekeepers did practically nothing for the hobby. They just ranted endlessly about how "FB is better than 40k", never missing an opportunity to make some racist/sexist joke while passing by the table where I play 40k. Now, GW says "welcome back" to this community. How do you imagine playing Age of Sigmar and the "old world" simultaneously in the same room? I’ll say more: at least one of the “old world” fanboys apologized for 8 years of insults and bullying against Age of Sigmar?

I’m sorry you had a bad experience with WH Fantasy players, and yes there were people like that, but also some really nice Fantasy players too. Plus I’ve found that you get elitists/neck beards and gatekeepers in all aspects of the hobby, including 40K, they aren’t limited to Fantasy. The best thing to do is ignore them, they are a minority.
