Hi guys, this is Kevin. It’s been a while since the last time I uploaded. But I’m back and aiming to upload at least one video per week. I recently looked at past comments on my videos, and most of you wanted some sort of “how to get into Columbia” video. So, here are some guidance in the college application process. While my tips came from experience interacting with Columbia classmates, most of the tips are beneficial to any college application.
All the topics will be linked down below with time stamps, so if you’re fairly familiar with the process. Feel free to click ahead. This video consists of three parts: first, general introduction to Columbia’s requirements on the website. Second, my analysis of what Columbia and other top colleges are looking for in their applicants. Third, a closer look at their hard and soft requirements.

If only Ivy Leagues were as significant to my career path as they were in the past. Was thinking about applying to Columbia but the cost makes it not worth it for me honestly.

hi so i’ve taken 6 ap classes i took one exam but it was the stupid at home one cuz of covid and i got a terrible score so i didn’t bother taking the others. if it’s the same this year i may not take them either. do you think that will hurt my chances? i have a 4.2 gpa. also i don’t have any honors or awards like you mentioned because my school doesn’t offer literally anything do you think i have a chance?

Great video. This is the first time I’ve heard of AP test scores playing a role in college acceptances. I’ll finish high school with 13-14 AP classes but I have not done “great” on all of my exams. Do you think that not reporting those 13 AP scores will hurt me? Thanks

Same, I have taken 13 AP classes, but my tests are mostly 4s and 3s, will that have a negative impact?

If you only report the good scores then you will most likely be fine, but some colleges like Yale look at all your scores and yes that could hurt your chances. Just make sure your extracurriculars and essays are awesome.

@@ayomade7496 no you can decide whether you want it on your application or not. So I think 1400 is awesome but I would take it again if you do not plan for early decision, so you can improve it.
