I lived in Toronto from 1990 to 1997 and I guess what I find interesting from all this, this film is closer to the time I lived in Toronto than today. Also dig all those hand painted trucks. Sign painting - a lost art.

I worked here for 15 years . It’s a different world in there people wouldn’t believe me if I told them how wild and crazy it used to be …

I always thought the Ontario Food Terminal would be an interesting place to visit, but unfortunately only retailers and wholesalers can go there. The place is massive! It's the third largest produce market in North America after New York and Los Angeles. I recognize the name Pirri's which appeared on the side of one of the trucks. They have several fruit markets around the city and they've been around for over 100 years.

Walk around with a wad of cash like the guy at the end and the government now considers you a security threat or criminal.

The food terminal has always been a hot bed of comerce. Most people who have delivered produce in ontario are quite familiar with this place

I wonder how many of those Italian fruit vendors have died in a barber's chair?

It's funny, when I lived in Toronto in 1990 to 1997, Italian accents were so common. But most could speak English because you tend to learn a language quick when it comes to the matter of survival. However today I imagine a lot of that is gone, by now. I lived on Annette St during the latter part of my time in Toronto, my neighbor came from Italia in 1964. He'd have to be rather old if still around. The people downstairs were Italian. The bowling league before ours at Wilson Ave Bowl were all Italians and all spoke the language. Italians were almost as common as white people with a normal Canadian accent it seemed.
