Her motivations obvious, it's to produce new variables for the architect to "counter and solve" which makes the system better. The new variable she created in the version of the matrix we saw in the movies was a savior motivated by love not heroism (the contingent affirmation facilitating the function of the one). The architects whole strategy gambles on the belief that the one will choose to save zion and give in to his terms. The oracle knew love would override that so she manipulated trinity into falling in love with neo and vice versa. The current version of the matrix couldn't assimilate it so it manifested two responses. 1, Smith going out of control because neo was off script. 2, sati a program generated to account for the concept of love (her father was the first time a machine "spoke of love", not a coincidence) with no purpose in the present system that the oracle needed to keep alive so the new version could assimilate her and counter balance that aspect of human decision making. The oracle did her job, if there was a follow up to the story it would have been the architect somehow incorporating love into the new matrix to get closer to his "harmony of mathematical precision". The harmony is the ultimate goal of all the programs. The oracle is literally just there to find and test for flaws that could upset that harmony.

I don't want The Oracle to be bad but it would make for an interesting twist.

I don't think that's right. Neo IS the anomaly. His entire existence stems from the code being flawed. Neo Is the one who almost destroyed the machines its not a program. You're thinking about it like a flaw in the code made a program that was the anomaly but, we know that it created Neo, not some rogue program. If that were true then Agent Smith would be destroyed with no issues because this has already happened before. Instead, the machines needed the Anomaly to defeat Smith which shows that they couldn't have for seen a Smith-like program coming about. Even the Merovingian wasn't necessarily a threat to them compared to the monumental disaster that Agent Smith turned out to be.

Always thought of the Oracle as the devil and the Architect as God. My bible studies are not brilliant but god at the start was very controlling and it was the devil who pushed for free will and less restrictions giving everyone more choice. Whos good and bad depends on the side you are on. But both have good and bad bits. They also reference various biblical things throughout the movies including apples and scales, good vs bad, Miracles, the David’s vs Goliaths fights, extinction level events. It’s fairly heavy on references if you look close enough. Not just from Christian texts but from other religions also.

Maybe she created the anomaly because she knew that Architect/Deus Ex Machina would never consider peace until they're literally forced to. And she wanted Neo's predecessors to break the mold and make peace with the machines, hence the savior thimg. But no one did, love for the humanity wasn't enough, so she made Neo love a specific human. In other words, the prophecy of the One was created because she really wanted it to happen, but it took her 6 tries until she got it right.

An individual presented with choice most likely will accept the program, paradoxically the individual can Choose to reject the program. Neo is presented with choices throughout the movies but he does something unique in the end he provides the machines with a choice.

It makes total sense. And with Neo, it seems she finally succeeded.,as the architect and the oracle suggest Neo is more emotional that his predecessors. She had to guide the anomaly some how but at the same time also developed empathy for humans., which made her use the anomaly to change the machine paradigm from only purpose to choice. .In order to that, she had to break the cycle. She tries a desperate attempt to control the marginal error that can cause chaos in the system and use it to break the cycle. However, it took her 6 attempts to do it . But, with Neo she finally made it, the cycle is broken. But, there is fhe risk of emotional choice. Basically, she wants the best for both worlds..However, there are some changes to make the war must end and the humans who want to be freed can do so. Now, they had to figure out how to coexist but this issue bothers the oracle less than give freedom to her fellow programs. And, although human can not be trusted, they can be guided,. A story of the transition from Matrix version 6 to 7 - Since the cycle of the one was implemented. All is the oracle plan to implement choice in the machines too.

There's a couple of curios aspects of Neo and Kamala, Sati's mom. One is a "programmer" and Kamala is described as an "interactive software programmer." I wonder if they're connected. I suspect that there is a connection. Both Neo and Sati have had their program of "love" altered in someway by the Oracle. The programs in the Matrix appear to represent lust or control, i.e. the Merovingian. Persephone was more about envy. I believe that the Oracle tweaked the code for love. I believe that there are no previous The One - Neo is the reincarnation of the same individual; a control target for the Oracle's use, to test changes to the simulation. Something that is never explained or perhaps I have not understood (but that would be excellent for a future video of this channel) is: if the ability to choose gave way to the creation of the anomaly (the One), what exactly is said anomaly in nature? A harmful program such as malware? An autonomous program not governed by the system but by free will? A virus created by a programming error by attaching free albred to the matrix equation?

I think Neo destroying Smith was the same as Volgin in Metal Gear Solid 3 launching an American Nuclear missle. No one could've predicted it and a drastic variation to the equation/misson had to be implemented. The oracle says she "knows enough" she doesn't know everything, so it might have been inside the margin of error in her calculations.

If the Anomaly isn't intentional they would try to prevent it, not use and control it. In fact, if Neo can use his powers to control the Sentinels, why can't the Machines reach into his mind and manipulate him in real time?

I always just assumed the Oracle was a Quality Control program. Her purpose is to try to break the Matrix (within parameters) so the Architect can write a patch. The Anomaly is just one of her testing routines.

Neo having the ability to stop the sentinels in the real world shouldn't have happened. That idea should have been tossed out.

What if the anomaly isn’t one person, but two? When Smith assimilated Neo the two became one and was neutralized, the same way adding 1 and -1 results in 0. Think about what The Oracle said when she described Smith to Neo: “He is your other half, your opposite, your negative.” As in the Negative One? Also what if the death of Smith isn’t the results of Deux ex Machina, but the result of the two combining?

I think the oracle manipulation will not be treated as directly as the first methods of control. I think it will be one of those underlying themes but ignored.

It feels like people misunderstand the Oracle the same way a child might misunderstand a babysitter. Her intentions might not appear altruistic from a perspective of limited information. Which is what we have. Yet that doesn't mean there isn't a bigger picture we don't understand. The babysitter might look mean for taking your candy if you've had too much or making you take a nap. None of which is evil but from the perspective of the child is oppressive and unnecessary. She is ambiguous but the fact that she teaches potentials and helps Neo at all, proves that she is not against humanity. If she were, she would simply let the anomaly run amok or be destroyed. It only appears like she helped agent Smith because that was the only way to get the anomaly to reach their full potential. It was her way of taking the training wheels off so to speak.

I have been watch the Matrix Trilogy for last 25 years. It seems to me that the anomaly is Neo, Trinity, and Smith.

Empathy is a skill. You seem to use it synonymously with sympathy. They are not the same.

Imagine if Smith was the FIRST Anomaly and he was replaced by The One (Human) so Smiths AI was repurposed into the Agents but when Neo killed him Smith was woken up again and this allowed him to cause chaos, this explains why Smith knows about the previous Matrix's since he was in the first.

Trinity was the anomaly, and the Oracle did not know who the one would be. I do not believe Neo was the anomaly. Every time prior the anomaly code was directly placed into the one, making it unnecessary for a trigger based off of Love rather using the preservation of their species. However this time I believe it was placed directly within trinity.... For starters the Oracle chose Morpheus to search for the one giving him that prediction. So in turn he was the dedicated disciple that would not only find the non-existent one but loyal followers. In doing so Morpheus found Trinity, not only a loyal and strong-willed follower but a female representing the womb and carrier of the code. It was then that the Oracle told Trinity she would fall in love with the one, a dead man. Most likely this was the point in which she gave Trinity a cookie, or the anomaly code. Not to mention the psychological effect on Trinity knowing she would fall in love with the one caused her to hold a fanatical standard as to whom she should consider the one. this prevented her from falling in love with previous candidates, inevitably leading to their deaths due to her high fanatical standards of the one which only later either Neo fit, or she lost faith which we will go into later... So would that mean that cipher, her previous lover, was a candidate? Or was he a psychological safety net? In other words if he wasn't the one then there wasn't a risk of him dying due to her loving him.... Or perhaps cipher is in reality the dead man that she fell in love with. But that just going way out there. Eventually Morpheus becomes more desperate. due to the deaths and failures became more fanatical. What he experienced as a moment of desperate hope everyone else Perceived in him an almost biblical confidence. Thus Trinity allowed all of these factors to push her emotional beliefs into having faith that Neo was the one allowing her to fall in love with him. Or she didn't actually believe he was the one but due to his bravery and character, and most of all the fact that she saw the truth in Morpheus's despair she allowed her self to fall in despair, dropping her shield, allowing her to fall in love with him even though he wasn't the one. Either way transferring the code to him, bringing the one into existence, and not only that but a variation that would not make the same decision as the previous ones. Now keep in mind this doesn't mean that when she was crying over his body and claimed that she believed he was the one that she meant the biblical one. She may have completely lost faith in that portion of it.instead she may have been referring to the Dead one that the Oracle predicted... A final confession during the final moments of her lifehas the prophecy of the biblical one appear to fall apart around her.... She was simply confessing her feelings to the one she loved before she would die. On top of all of the previously mentioned subjects this would mean that the Oracle wouldn't need to know who the one would be. Just that the vessel of the anomaly would find the one for her, and if not the machines would simply dispose of Trinity regaining the anomaly code. Allowing them to reinstall it into the matrix

Or maybe the anomaly doesn't know about the other ones because they erase his memory from before, leaving him with only enough to know that he is inside a simulation. We know the machines can do this because cypher asked to have his memories wiped and changed. Perhaps him and the ones he has chosen all wake up inside a ship put there by the machines and they manipulate all their memories accordingly. It's not beyond the realm of possibility that the one wakes up as just another regular human as his code was put back in the matrix.

What if the oracles purpose, through her eyes, wasn’t to deceive humanity for nefarious means, but to literally create love for sentient machines within humans? It would say that even to the extreme, some humans on a fundamental level can’t be “deceived”. Which poses a problem for sentient beings designed to “deceive” humans by way of their display of sentience so to speak.

The Oracle apparently wanted Neo to save Zion. But why? Is it her compassion for humanity, or something else?

How about a previous cyberpunk simulation? that could explain the fashion choice of the red pills. In the matrix the red pills seem to need the telephone--> would they strugle in a simulation without technological advances? would they be more effective in a bladerunner-like reality?

Since the oracle wants peace and the architect accepts the peace at then end of the matrix revolutions, couldn't it be possible that they want to instill hope for people for a possible real peace based on how many people accept the new peace? What if the people from zion are programs of this new simulation. Neo didn't get his sight until after he left zion so we couldn't confirm from him that people "born" naturally were in face people.neo really only had a few interaction with people from zion, so maybe those people were by design to guide him in this simulation like the council member who never slept more than a few hours. 🤔

Regarding the Oracle’s motives there are two possibilities, you’re saying. And I disagree with how you formulated the second option - her desire to destroy everything. That is an extreme explanation, not really based on any known indicators. A more plausible explanation would be that she simply seeks to have a complete control over the Matrix, in a sense she wants to replace the Architect. If this be the case, she called herself out in the way she described the Merovingian in Matrix Reloaded - “what do all men with power [want?] - more power.” I don’t believe she is altruistic, although I defend the notion that she is benevolent. She simply understands that the best way out of the “free choice” predicament is by collaboration and benevolence. In a sense, it is a well calculated approach; however, she prefers the route of “intuitiveness” rather than “mathematical precision.” In a way, she is more advanced than the Architect who isn’t capable of such level of consciousness. The Oracle, I think, is the peak of the Machines’ evolution thus far. No one has surpassed her, perhaps with the exception of Smith. She brings into the game the best of both worlds - human intuitiveness (unpredictability) and machine-like mathematical predictive power. That’s likely the reason why she is able to foresee how many individuals’ lives will unfold. So even though I agree that the Oracle might be seeking “more power” for herself, I still stick to my theory of her benevolence. It makes more sense to me. Which makes me think, Mr. Matrix Explained narrator, you must have some serious mommy issues....
