Miskin di bandar dan miskin area macam ni berbeza. Bagi penduduk sini ada rumah, cukup makan seharian, kurang kes jenayah, kurang pencemaran bunyi, tiada hutang, tidak byk perbelanjaan (utiliti, cukai, kereta etc), ada masjid, dan lain-lain tuh dah kira mewah dan bersyukur sgt. Tapi cuba orang bandar dtg ke tmpt mcm ni, mesti benda pertama dorg nampak adalah "poverty". 🙂

I am actually optimistic about the future of Sabah & Sarawak. The Pan Borneo Highway expansion is going to give a big boost to the local economy. I feel like over the past 10 years or so the federal government is finally paying more attention to Borneo Malaysia. And let's not forget Indonesia will move it's capital city to Borneo too. So more cross border transactions will occur.

1:29 Most if not all the inhabitants here are Bajau Laut (Sea Gypies) and Suluk Muslims who used to be nomadic, moving from island to island. They are relatively more settled now but citizenship is still an issue because, from what I understand, many are stateless.

Mabul is located in Semporna... And the MP of Semporna is Shafie Apdal! He should've helped them but he's too busy thinking about becoming the Chief Minister of Sabah again, after losing to Hajiji Noor 3 years ago!

From what I heard the Bajau/Sea Gypsies are not Malaysian. They don't belongs to any countries. They are under UNCHR protection and supervision. They live on the sea and has no land and they travel from one country to another in SEA without any identification. Sometimes they go as far as Australia. They don't have ID or passport. Their children don't go to school. Malaysian government used to offer them citizenship and land for them to settle down and give their children education but they refuse because of their nature of living. If they hold Malaysian passport then it is hard for them to travel without boundary.

Their children want to go to school but they never get to do so because of their parents' arrogance... And the cycle continues through the next generation! These parents shouldn't have had children in the first place!

Hi kumar. We just came back frm mabul 2 weeks ago. Sad that its raining heavly at night. We stay in Seahorse. Like u said its paradise. I'll defenitely will come back. The sun set is gorgeous.

Hi guys, well come to my State, i have been expecting you visit Sabah , there are plenty nice place for you to visit. Maliau Basin, Danum Valley , Kundasang, many beautiful island dont forget to visit Kota Belud to experience one of the most beautiful river in country. Well come to Borneo.

Go to Danube Valley next. It is awesome. Was so lucky to come across a family of Pygmy elephants. They had 3 juniors with them and possibly 2 mothers.They came right up to the road. Also the golden orange monkeys never seen anything like it.

The huge problem here are we can't really differentiate between citizens or non. Even the real citizens sometimes got no identity cards.

They're not Malaysian and they're not Filipino either! They used to be Filipinos but poverty forced them to denounce their Filipino citizenship and migrate to Sabah, only to suffer even worse!

Agree with what u suggested ie resorts contributing towards building homes for the less fortunate people on the island. However, it would be better if there is some sort of ways for the people to improve their livelihood by learning "how to fish" ie learning skills. Provide tuition to the children so that they can be educated well & climb out of poverty + helping their families.
