This was so good. As a gay Christian guy, it was so nice seeing people still running after the King and His Kingdom. And running after unity and fellowship. I’m running there with you. *high five He loves us as we are.

No such thing as a gay Christian. We lie to ourselves don't we?

Well yes that is true Christ loves us as we are, but that doesn’t mean we don’t need to change. For example even if I kill someone, am gluttonous, look at pornography and do a litany of other sins then yes God loves me through it all. However, if someone is saved and loves God and has the Holy Spirit in them then they will seek to turn from these behaviors. Just saying “Jesus loves me as I am” and using that as a reason not to change is completely unbiblical.

@@bgwill1 doesn't matter what you post. I literally don't care what people say. It's impossible to be gay and be a Christian. Stop trying to make up your own standards. This is Satanic think3

I don't know why I'm surprised that in my search for videos and interviews on faith deconstruction, that I would run into Chelsea and Erin. These two are beautiful souls, and this was a great conversation.. Nate, Suzy, thank you for these videos and this production. I'm a gay man coming from an evangelical background, and from a Bethel affiliated church. I have been deconstructing my faith understanding for years now, and channels like yours are a light for many. Chelsea, Erin, you killed this interview and hope you're doing well. -Benny

I heard a pastor friend say one time, "We can disagree without being disagreeable." I really like that. As a fellow gay PK, I relate to much of these podcasts. I used to serve as the organist at my father's church...until the church found out I was gay. Now how many STRIGHT male organists are there? (Not many, I assure you).

Thank you so much for sharing your stories. ❤ I'm a bisexual women married to my amazing husband. He accepts me how I am and I'm so grateful to have found him. But being very spiritual has almost made me scared of my bisexuality, specially coming from Opus Dei Catholic school

Jessica Simpson sexually abused by a woman. Not gay. Carl Lentz sexually abused by a man. Not gay. My former male pastor was sexually abused by a man. Not gay. Like the host, I wasn't sexually abused and I'm queer. I'm so glad you brought up the topic regarding sexual abuse not equaling homosexuality. It's like certain Christians completely ignore the fact that there are so many gay people who were never sexually abused yet they still ignore it and use it as a terrible talking point.

It’s not like the Catholics or orthodox are any better. At least there are some Protestant churches standing for the truth. All the Catholics and orthodox have are tradition.

praying the gay away never worked for anyone. that’s not the way to deal with this cross. Jesus never taught if you feel gay try to be straight. that’s not anywhere in the scriptures or sacred tradition. Not everyone is called to marriage. The theology of the body is not about forcing yourself to not be something. it’s about allowing God to show you what he created you for. don’t miss out on your true destiny because your desires are so strong they overcome you. trust Jesus and lean not on your own understanding.

Holy Mother church was never segregated that’s only something that happens in protestant churches. The first Catholic church I went to represented people from 50 different countries. My current parish in a small town that’s majority white is full of Mexicans, Filipinos, Africans, Americans, and every other kind of person you can imagine. Jesus wanted us to all be unified. Stop protesting and come home. The sacraments will help you with any burden you struggle with. If you desire holiness God will bring you into it and you won’t even have to do gymnastics while you attempt to rewrite God’s law.

God would never ask you to do something contrary to his law. He wants us to choose him. Carrying your cross is heavy suffering but he doesn’t ask us to do this without reason. The enemy still has won over your hearts because you reject him in your arrogance. The bible is clear about following false prophets and people have been trying to rewrite the gospel ever since God became man and dwelt among us. 1st Romans is clear that when women forgo natural relations for unnatural relations that God will give you up to a base mind and improper conduct. it goes on to say when you choose this over the law you will be inventors of evil, foolish, faithless, heartless and ruthless. This way you preach is the way of death not of life eternal. repent and seek the true Christ. I was queer most my life so I’m saying this as someone who can relate to the struggle. Pick up your cross and sin no more. Don’t just believe in Jesus and do whatever you want rewriting the gospel to fit your desires.
