In this video, Kaylee and Shaan bust the myth that anxiety recovery is a quick fix for symptoms. Instead, they shed light on how it’s a gradual and two-part process that encompasses changing habits and behaviors, resulting in a natural alleviation of symptoms over time. 🔄
They emphasize the power of living in the present and advocate for reframing the concept of recovery. It’s not just about reducing symptoms, it’s about restoring one's ability to live life fully and respond to life's challenges in a more adaptive way. 🌱
🧠 Key Takeaways:
The importance of self-awareness: Discover how being conscious of your thoughts and actions can be the first step towards healing.
The role of action: Learn why taking purposeful actions is crucial and how it complements self-awareness in the recovery process.
The science behind anxiety recovery: Gain insights into the scientific mechanisms that underlie anxiety and how understanding them can empower your recovery.
Kaylee and Shaan also share their personal journeys and reflect on how their path to anxiety recovery led them towards spirituality and inspired them to become coaches who help others in their fight against anxiety. 🌈✨

It’s true what Kaylee said about not remembering when people recover because my father went through it years ago when I was a teenager and he’s my guide. It was hard watching my dad not himself but he recovered on his own not realizing he would 100% recover. He was looking for so many solutions and wasn’t getting anywhere just worse. He ended up accepting it and realized he was slowly getting better. I asked him when he recovered and he says he doesn’t remember. Because of his recovery he’s able to help others. my mom ended up with anxiety later on and my dad’s like “I had this and this is what you should do. Just live your life even if it feels uncomfortable” and my mom recovered as well and she doesn’t remember either. Sometimes things happen for a reason and this was his reason. To help others as well.

@@santsu8392 he was prescribed medication. Took it for a week and he said it made it worse. He threw it away and decided to get out on his own. I’m not sure what he took. It’s been over a year since I ended up with severe anxiety and I forgot all about this channel. I can tell you that I’m recovered. I am living life! I’m going everywhere and just ran my first 5k. I went from 180 to 140. I remember when I had it and I wasn’t eating. I lost a lot of weight not the right way. Now I’m enjoying food and playing with my kids ^_^ I am very blessed for this channel. It helped me out. What really helped me the most which was the hardest bump to get over was “reassurance”. I stopped watching this channel and just remembered everything I learned from t and how to handle it. I had to stop asking people about how long this will heal or am I getting better. I used to go to my room alone and cry but tell myself I was getting better even if I felt like I wasn’t and got up and do the things I normally did even if it was uncomfortable. Slowly I started noticing things weren’t as scary as I thought it was. Hope everyone of you gets better. I did take medication for 3 weeks to give myself the push. It was terrible at first but it wasn’t the medication alone. I had to get out and push myself while on medication. It just helped me get out of the hole I put myself in at first. Then I stopped taking it and I still Had it but I got a bit more control of it.

@@santsu8392Yes, it works but you must accept and push yourself. Laugh at the anxiety when it hits let it roll. Embrace it when it comes as freaking painful and awful as it can be. Eventually your body will not react to events like it does while you are anxious. We are all working to that goal, but anxiety is important for our survival so to make it non existent is dangerous imho

The notion of not remembering when you recovered from anxiety is also how anxiety is for me in general. My anxiety comes and goes, the timeframe of how long I have an episode of anxiety and how long I don't feel anxiety is all over the place, it can be as short as hours and as long as months with or without terrible anxiety, but when I am going through anxiety it feels as though that is how I have always felt and how I will always feel, it's my life, but then when I'm not feeling any anxiety I can't really remember how it truly felt to have anxiety it's like I've never had anxiety before, it just doesn't exist. So weird.

Hi. I’m in New Zealand. A half a world away. I love the science. I don.t have anxiety but 4 years ago , as a private project, I decided to pull apart this anxiety issue based on any scientific research , that I could find. What I discovered was that this is a great positive story that is not being told through our mental health system which is even at direct odds with the science. A recovery for anyone, anywhere in the world is very clearly a real result. About 3 months ago I discovered your group and was thrilled to see that my results appears to parallel the results in your podcasts. You are following real science but made simple so average people like me can understand it. I have already passed on your connection to anyone who is interested and are now seeing a very positive outcome with one Kiwi girl. Great job Shaan and your people and thank you all so much.

Fantastic discussion! I have had anxiety and OCD since childhood, I could function perfectly fine, in my 20s I had a bad couple of months but I got rid of it myself, I quit drinking 3 years ago because it would really exaggerate my anxiety the next day. Fast forward to April this year I was heavily ruminating for a few weeks trying to discect how anxiety works in my head, and yes you guessed it things became really bad, I went to bed one night and had a panic attack which didn't really bother me but the next day it started happening all day, I really didn't understand that there was a thing called sensitisation, after that literally every thought that came in my head made me go into panic, as this was in full swing I had a vacation planned with my wife to Greece which was one of the most scary surreal experiences of my life, I had to go the doctor and she gave me xanex which I took for 3 days to bring me down I was literally frozen inside myself it was a very very horrible experience, fast forward 5 weeks I'm getting ALOT better, I still have symptoms and thoughts but my reaction is totally different and I'm back working. The biggest thing for me is thoughts and thinking are totally different, thinking is a choice, thoughts are 99% nonsense and not my job to fix, it's obviously not easy correcting a really long standing bad habbit but I've total confidence I can and will do it even after having a really intense day of symptoms today totally out of the blue, but I honestly like the challenging times as I really understand more about my power . Thanks for helping so many people shaan . Love from Dublin ☘️

Therapy in the US is expensive but the market is also so saturated. It's very hard to find a therapist that specializes in anxiety and truly understands the mechanisms of anxiety. I've seen 3 different therapists in the past year and none of them could truly help me understand my state of anxiety. A lot of it was just coping mechanisms which we know doesn't truly help us. I'm so thankful I found your channel and joined your masterclass, Shaan! I finally feel like I am on the journey to recovery.

Hi everyone. I have been struggling with anxiety since 2007 (I'm 34 now) although fortunately I've had more good years than bad years. But I always implemented the opposite approach: to understand/control/rationalize the anxiety with these rational schemes I made up. And it worked many times and for a long time but it always came back. My problem is that anxiety generated a long time ago these very strange, irrational ideas in me and makes me believe that the problem are these strange fears, and not anxiety itself. I only feel the anxiety when I generate these thoughts. My main fear (stuck in my head since 2012) is that people are calm (and hence, not me). Yes, just that... why? I don't know. So I keep trying to rationalize these, understand it thoroughly to finally leave these thoughts, but this never happens and anxiety and panic escalate. Now I'm trying to implement Shaan's ideas, but it's really hard because I have to leave these ideas/fears unsolved..

I had panic and anxiety with symptoms and all more than 3 years ago. I would say I got out of the cycle by following the same principles from this channel. 3 years later I feel like I have stress which i hesitate to call anxiety mainly cause I feel, (for the most part ) healthy and symptom free. I do feel the work stress, the stress regarding future retirement, the economy, family etc. But the funny thing is I’m dealing with those stressors the way I tried to deal with my panic and anxiety when I was spiraling. I second guess myself, if being symptom free may not be that that milestone of being fully recovered. Could I treat my life anxiety the same way I treated my panic and anxiety and get the same result? Could I free myself of constant worrying? Is there another level of recovery where we live with inner peace?

It does suck but once you get out of it it becomes almost like a lesson… if you get what i mean lol. But yeah just remember that you wont be like this forever.. it does get better. Just keep on keepin on brah
