Күн бұрынIf you've been following my vlog you know that a few weeks ago i accidentally purchased a GINORMOUS military trailer. Well i was lucky enough to find someone to take it off my hands and in its place came the perfect trailer. Hope you guys enjoy this weeks video. personally i would keep those military tires (if they are still good and not dry rotted or cracked), you will never damage or pop them. mount your truck spares to it and our tires with rotation will last longer.

I bought one and converted it to a 6x5.5 3000lb axle. Watch the rear tail lights lights backing up if you do lower it at all, took out my driver side going into my yard. (It was loaded with a cord of wood). Going recessed led now. I would have sold mine for a song a few months ago, going back to a 4Runner now, the Ram 2500 go bye bye. These are solid trailers and track perfect. Super easy to move by hand unloaded too.

Some advice, get you a four way so if you have a flat you can change it. You may have gotten a lug wrench with the trailer but having a four way lug wrench, you can change about any flat you encounter.

Definitely the right size. Scored on military trailer will make a wonderful base Max Powell's Overlander rig. With current tires it will go anywhere your truck does (curious which weighs more your current tires or military set up). Although loading motorcycles and using as a chuckwagon would be easier if it was a little lower.

I'm working a 48 now looking at a trailer to trick out and spotted your sticker. Heading to Colorado springs next week for the fallen firefighter memorial, then a 10 day camping/kayaking road trip. Just wish I had started putting together something like it this summer. I'll shoot ya some pictures if I pick one of those up!

Take your truck lights off Auto position and put to the on position. That should turn the running lights on the trailer.

Nice! I'm down in Portland and have been trying to figure out which surplus trailer to get for overland purposes, I've got a GX470/Prado 120. The M416's are just crazy priced, nice to see that the M101's are an option as well.

Yeah it's between something like the M101 or a tent trailer (what my Wife's initial thought was). I plan on using something like a Tepui roof top on the M101, then I can move the tent onto my GX when we don't want the trailer, and then I also have a trailer for when I need a trailer. I feel better going that route and having an adaptable multi role investment, rather than just a tent trailer (which if I went down the right/wrong path, would be a one way trip for the trailer ;P )

With the profit you made off the first trailer, this one was almost FREE! I would have paid the guy the cash and ran before he changed his mind!! Up here North of the border a guy is selling the same trailer (without all the goodies) for $3500. You can probably turn around an sell those diesel jerry cans and other parts you don't use and re-coup your costs of purchase. I am jealous.

Score! I made the same mistake, bought a M105 1.5ton military trailer and sold it to get an M101A2. Looks like you have the M101A1 which doesn't have the Chevy 8-lug pattern. No biggie if you plan to swap the axle out. Does your trailer tilt function work? Lock the two front hand brakes down in front, and pull the two pins/bolts in front and you should be able to back up with the wheels locked and tilt the bed up. Those trailers pull pretty solidly! I'm looking forward to see what direction you go with it!!

if you can you gotta cross the chains X , for what ever reason if it were to come off the hitch well driving the chains will catch the nose so it won't drag

Hey Max, an a1, those are nice trailers. Be careful with those wheels in the army we called them widow makers. The rings can come off at a high rate of speed and remove your head. You can get dexter axles for it that have the same lug pattern as your truck. Also you will find that with those tires makes it harder to pull. The BUD wheels suck.

I love my M101A1 trailer. Works perfect behind my pinz for hauling cut up trees to the slash yard. Wanna sell the tarp ribs you don't want?

I barter if the item isn't quite as good in person as the CL ad. If the item looks as good or better I never haggle and give them what they ask.

G'day,.... you know with the other trailer if you flip the lunete on the trailer it will sit flat,.... not look like it rides with its nose in the dirt. I think the M105 you had before is better but that's just my personal choice, I hope you look after the trailer you now have. Aussie.

I have bought a M105A2 with the CBC hardtop, its currently in Califailure waiting to be put into a shipping container end of this month for its trip home to me, That's a M101 you now have right? You sure got some cool extra's with the trailer, congratulations on that score. Will be interested in what you end up doing with your trailer. Aussie.

Be very careful with this video. You said you paid $750 and then the seller says (off camera) to put $375 on the bill of sale. This could be used against you in court.
