That's how it goes sometimes. I followed John Hill before already, and this crew is just like an expansion of that. It's awesome. And it features a lot of skating (as in, less vlog), which I definitely appreciate.

I agree that boardsliding a ledge is harder than a rail! I teach beginners how to skate on my channel and definitely recommend to go straight for the rail if you’re ready. Might seem more scary, but you’ll progress a lot faster! Great topic guys!

@SkatingwithAaron
@SkatingwithAaron 3 жыл бұрын
@MeMyself &I Agree! I’ve always seen people try them over and over without much luck. These are skaters that I don’t see trying it on a rail at all. I recently tried it myself to see and it’s not very easy. Took me a few tries and just felt awkward.
@SkatingwithAaron

@@lewisgartland8948 I definitely agree with this! Parking block would be a great starting point! Low to ground and a wider flat space to help with balancing.

I learned by getting onto concrete curb block or curb stops. And when you find paint ones you don't need much wax. They are great for learning because you have to be able to ollie high, just barley pick up the wheeling and rotate over. Plus the brick is wide enough that the balance is as a scary as a thinner flat rail.

I learned to board slide on a parking block when I was a kid. You can find the center balance on your board without moving and it's super low impact to try. I relearned board slides as an old guy on a ledge and then took them to the flat bar. Even though I've done them a bunch, the rail is still intimidating. And square flat rails are scarier than round rails for me. Still want to learn front boards and 5050s on it. They're scary. Love the channel

I see that's true in a well waxed ledge. In transition those wheels shouldn't touch unless you want to fly with no wings and no skate. It is technically advanced but you can boardslide in no waxed ledges like you would on transition.

I do hate how you can 360 hang on a ledge when you board slide. Which is what happens when you try to actually board slide a ledge, instead of putting all weight on the wheels on top of the ledge indeed. I do think a nose slide is easier than a board slide anyway, it's the best ledge trick to start with I'd say. Just start with nose stalls. Maybe try some slappy like nose slides and then just extend the slide more each time. It's actually not that hard, just takes full commitment switching your weight to the nose and staying on the board.

Rating requires a comment, so 2 birds 1 stone: 4/5, would have been 5/5 to see the no comply board slide cleaned up a bit, and that crazy board slide 180 boardslide attempted a few more times with more speed!
