that’s a sweet shirt Zach’s wearing ...definitely good info on trucks. I think people don’t realize how critical trucks are in skating and how much of a difference they make ... **ps I always like using some type of shock absorbing riser pad on my truck base. makes for a nice smooth ride and lessens chances of wheel bite a tiny bit. also reduces board stress cracks as well

96a bushings are actually hard for truck bushings, the standard duro for stock truck bushings is just 90a... these ace trucks in fact are the only trucks I know of that come stock with "hard" bushings (Tensors may be 92a stock bushings)... if you look at shortys doh doh bushings, bones bushings, indy replacement bushings 95-98a is always considered to be hard bushings... soft would be sub 90a.

I highly recommend anyone who tries ACE's to leave the bushings as they come for the first two sessions at least. they do tighten a little and become more stable and consistent when broken in. if you tighten them down you will more than likely blow the bushing out way before their time . I weigh 200lbs and can ride aces without tightening the bushings, most of you young guys/girls shouldn't have an issue with leaving them stock.

Truck sizes have never really been that hard to understand, the bigger the number, the wider the trucks. And each truck company uses a different system to differentiate themselves. but I can understand if you're new to it all, then you have to trust someone at the skateshop to know what they're talking about, and sometimes that might not be the case. Like if you order something online, that might be a problem. Now you guys tightening new trucks, SIN! Give it an hour to let the bushing break in, then start messing with it. But to each their own. (I worked at a skateshop for years, but not only that, when I first started skating, I was on a website everyday reading about different skate product, trucks, bearings, wheel harnesses, I wish more people would do their homework) But also just gotta say, Loved the video, thanks for explaining why AF1 are badass! Cheers!

"skating not as good as usual?" 😂😂😂 Nose grinds were looking way buttery. Definitely interested in trying these. I ride ACE on my bowl board but I normally ride Thunder on my 8.25. Is it weird that I ride different brands for different size boards. My 8.5 board is setup with Tensor it Grindkings. The. Like I said Ace for my 10inch bowl board.
@_Maxten3 жыл бұрын
Another thing thats confusing is Thunder will be like: 8" For boards ranging in 7.875-8.125 but then another company will be like: 8" For boards ranging in 7.625-8.375 and that doesn't make sense to me. In my opinion, a general rule of thumb is don't use trucks that are more than .4 too big or too small, if your trucks are bigger than your deck, use skinnier, contact patched wheels and put the wheel washers on the outside, or dont use them at all. If your board is bigger than your trucks, put both (or more if you have some) of the wheel washers on the inner side of the wheel and use wider thicc wheels.

The only thing that stops me from giving a try with ACE trucks is their height. They are 2-3mm lower than my current 55mm trucks. Is there any difference between 55mm trucks and 52mm trucks with 3mm riser? Is there any downsize of using risers rather than higher trucks? I use 58mm 85a wheels so I need to be extra cautious with wheelbite 😁

It doesn't help when skate webshops screw up the information too though. I mean, it rarely ever happens with deck sizes, so why is it so hard for webshops to get the truck size info correct too? And yeah, I agree they should just call the trucks 8" or 8.25" or 8.38" in terms of size OR be very explicit about axle width. I need my trucks to be flush with my decks, anything else just feels off. And trucks that are too wide would mean no primo stands, which is something I do use from time to time.

Let’s get this straight, aces have their problems. For one I bought the new af1 trucks and not even a week goes by one of the pivot cups cracked. They had to send me another pair of pivot cups. I keep skating them, about a month later the other pivot cup goes as well. Don’t get me wrong, good trucks but not the best for quality. Plus I’ve had a lot of people complain that re threader makes the wheels slip at some point. I honestly have mixed feelings on ace trucks, smooth grinds and manuals but not the best for locking in certain grinds.

I think I have to try them because to me, their turning looks like Indy used to be, maybe in the late 80's or maybe early 90's can't say for sure. They were the trucks with the sharpest turn. YOU GUYS WILL SEE THAT AS SOON AS THE 96A PIVOT CUP BEGINS TO DETERIORATE ON YOU. AFTER TESTING MANY TRUCKS I AM AFRAID THAT INDEPENDENT IS THE BEST AND INDY KNOWS IT. IT IS HARD TO REDESIGN THE WHEEL. THERE ARE MANY OPTIONS WITH INDY. ONE EXAMPLE BEING THE BUSHINGS. WITH THE AF1 YOU HAVE TO GO FACTORY. INDY JUST WINS !!!!!!! IF YOU WANT THE SAME HEIGHT AS ACE THEN INDY MIDS WIN AGAIN. GO BACK AND DO THOSE SAME GRINDS WITH YOU INDY TRUCKS. MY ACE AF1 CLICKED JUST LIKE YOURS. IT IS THE TOP WASHER MOVING UNDER THE NUT.
