In this video, Rod and Dr. Peter Dingle discuss the quality of tap water and the need for filtration. Rod expresses concern about the declining quality of public water and suggests considering reverse osmosis (RO) water filters as a solution. However, Dr. Dingle reveals that they have never been a fan of RO systems due to their removal of essential minerals from the water. These minerals, such as calcium, magnesium, zinc, selenium, iodine, molybdenum, and boron, are present in small amounts but are easily absorbed by the body. Dr. Dingle explains that RO systems remove these minerals and emphasizes the importance of replenishing them for proper hydration and overall health.
Dr. Dingle further emphasizes the complexity of the issue, stating that there are numerous potential toxins in water, including chlorine, fluoride, and pesticides. He highlights the lack of knowledge and monitoring regarding pesticide usage and its byproducts, which can be more toxic than the original pesticide. He suggests that the long-term impact of these toxins on health should be taken into consideration, particularly for individuals over the age of 25. He mentions the stress it puts on the liver, the main detoxification organ, and note the increase in diseases such as non-alcoholic fatty liver.
The conversation then shifts to the necessity of filtration systems to remove contaminants from water. Rod mentions their preference for carbon filtration, particularly for removing pesticides. However, they both acknowledge that some contaminants may require an RO system despite the concerns expressed by Dr. Dingle. Ultimately, both agree on the need for filtration to ensure better water quality.
Overall, this video highlights the concerns surrounding tap water quality, the potential harmful effects of contaminants, and the importance of filtration systems in maintaining healthier drinking water.

If you want minerals in your water all you have to do is add celtic sea salt and you will get all the minerals humans need.

While salt is important. It's better to have mineral ready water as most salts (even Celtic) are being found to have heavy metals

Thank you! Really helpful video and really honest about what authorities know and don't know about water contaminants. I'd be wonderful to hear about ways to help the body deal with these impurities. Sauna? Certain foods? Exercise? Swimming in natural bodies of water?

Thank you Rod and Dr. Peter for the information. I really appreciate you both sharing this. We have similar issues here in the states. What kind of water filtration system would you recommend for home and garden use? We use about 30 liters/5-10 gallons per day. RO systems seem to be overkill.

Hello Joey, for drinking you really want to use something that takes everything like an RO and then remineralises it. That is generally going to be the safest option for town water. If you are on rain water then you have a few more options as RO is unnecessary and wasteful for rain water. For your home, we don't know the US market super well but if you can get a triple whole house with a cover, that will do the trick. We hope that helps.

Minerals? H2O... 2 Hydrogen molecules and 1 oxygen. Why do you need minerals in water? You get that out of a balanced diet.

It make sense, thank you for your thoughts. Breaking down the water structure to its components via Reverse Osmosis may make the water appear lifeless, yet it guarantees effective water filtration for many RO users. At My Water Filter, we take an extra step by adding post-membrane cartridges to reintroduce minerals and improve taste with carbon, ultimately creating clean and sustainable drinking water.

The soil your food is grown in is heavily depleted of minerals nowadays. You would have to go for grass fed organic meat, fruits and vegetables.
