Yes gents, as someone who owned, drove and maintained a 1971 car for many years, if you remove the rotor arm from under the distributor cap then the electrical charge will not get sent to the spark plugs and the car will not start. It's easy do to and you can carry the rotor arm around in your pocket and replace it very quickly. I used to do this if I wanted to immobilise my car (especially as the door locks could be opened with a hair grip and a screwdriver!)

KOWJ and The Insider, series 2, are among my favourite episodes. Vaughan and the female lead shone is this episode The action and acting is superb and it showed the murkier side of London's early 70s underworld, especially when Rule introduces Kate to her late Father's associates. The nightclub scene when Rule is asked to leave, seems the defining moment Kate realises not all her Father's friends were Angels. "Take Baby Blue Eyes with you!" So real. Both seasons had their moments. Vaughan's Direction on the Somewhere on the Island episode took things into a more surreal '60s Batman esque' slapstick genre. Making an action adventure series shows Gerry's adaptability, versatility and widened the scope for the team's Anderson Universe.

The rotor arm is found in the distributor and basically distributes the spark to each spark plug in sequence if it's removed stops the spark reaching the spark plugs so no ignition, now days most ignition systems are electronic so don't have a rotor arm

Vaughan's main attraction was his metallic voice. I hear he was treated like Royalty by Lew Grade.

I believe that scene with the bikini clad snorkeler is Domino Derval from Thunderball I think, I have seen this episode! But when it comes to this episode I kind of like it, much better than 'It Could be practically anywhere on the Island' that episode is pants!

They're were quite a few London locations in this episode, including Wardrobe Place, which is near St Paul's Cathedral. Kate shot Rule there. Think the Straker arrival UFO was filmed near there, in a location no longer in existence.

I think that the exploding bridge is taken from the movie "Campbell's Kingdom" with Dirk Bogard and Stanley Baker Shot in Italy to portray Canada of all places?

I had such a crush on Nyree Dawn Porter in this series as a young lad.

I prefer Vaughan's character Rule to The Man From Uncle. He's better in charge. He was more 0ne dimensional in Uncle.
