You must have heard about the Queen meeting a couple whilst out walking on one of her estates (others will describe it better) She was with one of her security officers but they didn't recognise her. They asked if she had met the queen thinking she was a local. Apparently she replied 'No' then referring to her escort, 'but he has' One of my favourite stories.

It was at Balmoral with an estate worker. The tourists asked the Queen for a photo with the man who had met the Queen, which she took - she was an excellent photographer - and he then suggested he take one of the couple with the ‘lady’. Apparently after the couple left the Queen and the estate worker had a good laugh imagining what would happen when the couple showed the photos to the folks back home.

When she was young she became a military ambulance driver/mechanic, and over the years she rode horses, armoured vehicles, tanks, she fired serious military-grade artillery, and was about the most badass female leader in the western world. I'm proud to have been one of her loyal subjects. Even in her nineties she was cool!

My grandad was a master decorator and his firm (Sandersons) were the Royal decorators. He was at Windsor Castle painting gold leaf on to a ceiling rose and looked down from the top of the scaffolding and Her Majesty was down there watching him. She said hello and would he like to take his lunch now,she wanted to talk about the work he’d done. He proceeded to share his doorstep sandwiches and flask of tea with Queen Elizabeth II and chatted and laughed with her for 20minutes. When he told us,our jaws collectively hit the floor. He had two further meetings during work and always said afterwards that she was a very polite normal woman and showed genuine interest and this was not uncommon as she had similar chats with most of the staff working there. One of us. RIP Your Majesty, our Queen.

I'm from the UK, and yes, the Queen had an amazing sense of humour. You may be interested to know that the (very tall) steward in her room at the beginning of the James Bond sketch was her actual steward ( not an actor) and had the privilege of walking in front of the gun carriage ( black suit) which took her coffin from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall.

I’m a former Guardsman, and I was lucky enough to be inspected by Her Majesty as well as guard Buck, St James, Windsor and The Tower countless times. There are countless stories about various guardsmen meeting the queen; one of which was on a hot day at Windsor she was known offer drinks to her soldiers. She was fond of her Grenadiers.

That sketch with the Queen and Bond was filmed for the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics in London. They asked Buckingham Palace for permission to do the sketch with an actress, but the Queen insisted on doing it herself. Mr Bean was in the ceremony as well and was hilarious.

I live in Scotland, not far from Balmoral and I was always so proud of the fact that the Queen loved it there. In fact, she barely holidayed anywhere else. We all thought of her as a neighbour and treated her with normality and we got to witness her sense of humour countless times. I'm going to miss her so much, the thought of her never coming back here fills my eyes with tears but she is with her beloved Philip now and knowing that there are tributes such as this one will fill her heart.

Summer holiday Sundays getting up early to get parked at Crathie church to wait for the queen and her family to go to church. My great grandfather was a cabinetmaker and provided and repaired furniture and soft furnishings for balmoral, birkhall and other Scottish royal or family residences. Mum remembers going into balmoral to help her grandfather hold the tape measure when she was little. I just remember being bored waiting! Then we would go to check the family bee hives at dinnet and have our picnic then in to Banchory for afternoon tea.

She truly was a totally amazing lady wasn't she? I smiled through most of this because her deadpan sense of humour is/was so endearing, but the Jubilee bit at the end with Paddington proper made me tear up. I think this is the first time I've cried since hearing about her dying. We'll certainly never have another monarch like her and last Thursday was truly the end of an era. Rest in peace, ma'am. A little poem by Joanne Boyle The poem goes like this: Phillip came to me today, and said it was time to go. I looked at him and smiled, as I whispered that “I know” I then turned and looked behind me, and seen I was asleep. All my Family were around me, and I could hear them weep. I gently touched each shoulder, with Phillip by my side. Then I turned away and walked, with My Angel guide. Phillip held my hand, as he lead the way, to a world where King’s and Queens, are Monarch’s every day. I was given a crown to wear or a Halo known by some. The difference is up here, they are worn by everyone. I felt a sense of peace, my reign had seen its end. 70 years I had served my Country, as the peoples friend. Thank you for the years, for all your time and love. Now I am one of two again, in our Palace up above.

Her Majesty was my boss from 2005-2010 & although l, & many before & after me took & oath to bear true allegiance to her (which means so much to us), she also gave the same oath to us. One story I've heard: at some point a foreign Prince was visiting from a country where women weren't allowed to drive. The Queen apparently greatly enjoyed driving him around her Balmoral Estate at alarming speed, to the point where he was begging her to stop. And another: the Queen was meeting Martin McGuinness, formerly a leader in the IRA, which at once time had planned/attempted to assassinate various government ministers and members of the royal family, and HAD assassinated the Queen's cousin Lord Mountbatten (though it was never proven that McGuiness was personally involved). He asked if she was well, or words to that effect. Her response: "Well, I'm still alive."

Michael Bentine told one of my favourite stories about the Queen. She and Prince Phillip were at a country fair in Australia where various competitions had been won and were talking to the winners. The overall winner of the lumberjacking competition was apparently well hydrated (slightly drunk) and may not have been entirely sure who the nice couple he was talking were to when she congratulated him on his win and asked him how much wood he could move in an hour. "Well Ma'am- about a fucking ton I reckon." he replied. At this point all the local dignitaries who were hovering around her and turning red in their suits and ties, the wives in their coats and the mayor in his robes of office promptly turned white and stood paralysed whispering to each other. "Did that ocker just say fuck to the Queen?" "I think he did- I think he said fuck to the Queen!" "He did I heard him- he said fuck to the Queen!" "What are we going to do?" "What can we do? Can we have him arrested?" "...Can she have US arrested?" Prince Phillip, who was a Navy man of course and was never going to be bothered just said, "Steady on old chap." "Well OK" said the lumberjack, "but at least half a fucking ton!"

Hi JT. It is lovely to remember the Queen's impish sense of humour. The country is just very quiet and sad, yet full of pride. Her Majesty is now lying in state in Westminster Hall. It is beautiful. Her coffin is covered by the royal standard. On top, on a purple cushion sits the most beautiful crown. The sceptre and orb are there along with a wreath of white flowers. Some people have been queuing since Monday to pay their last respects. She is guarded by soldiers who stand with swords pointed down and heads bowed. The line of people waiting to say goodbye was 4.5 miles long, the last I heard. People are filing past for 2 4 hours a day. Your Lizzie is a very loved lady, JT. I thought you might like to what is happening over here.

God it feels so raw to lose my Queen. She shines brightly on all her thankful subjects. I will miss her majesties smile for the rest of my life. Our unifier, our hope. Sweet dreams Ma’am. Thank you. See you tomorrow for one last time. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

the clip with Daniel Craig, aka James Bond, you can see the queen smile just after she says "Good Evening Mr Bond" I bet she's thinking "I've always wanted to say that"

What is fall season in UK? By the meteorological calendar, the first day of autumn is always 1 September; ending on 30 November. The seasons are defined as spring (March, April, May), summer (June, July, August), autumn (September, October, November) and winter (December, January, February).

@jtreacts you can always say your farewell on The Royal Website they have an online book of condolence, and also Friday around 7.30pn UK time the Queen four children are taking part in the Vigil at Westminster Hall, and the grandchildren are doing the same on Saturday, there is a livestream of Queen Lying In State which will continue until around 8am Monday morning before the funeral at Westminster Abbey, and then she will be taken into Windsor for another service and be reunited with her parents, sister and Duke of Edinburgh in the Vault at St George's, which will also be televised

One of my favourite stories of her wit was when she was on a visit to America and she was to do a speech after the president (i think it was G,W Bush) but the microphone was set up for the POTUS (who was a lot taller than her) and when she went up to the stand all you could see was her hat, a few years later she came back for another visit and this time the microphone had been set up better and her first words of the speech were "i think you can all see me this time"
