Love your recommendation to go with the smallest square and use that as your base measurement for squaring up. Another idea ill ahare is to measure your squares against each; rher earlier on in the process -- check for size after yiur first 3-4 blocks. If you're way off, you may not be hitting an accurate quarter inch seam. Its easier to adjust when you're just three blocks in than doing so after you've finished 20 blocks. And using the tools that can help you get an accurate quarter inch seam from the start can make all the difference! Love tt soft green youre using as the background on this project!

When do you starch your fabric?

Depending on the project. If it has lots of points I starch when I iron the fabric then I start cutting. Other times I starch as I go.
