I chose not to date after getting divorced. I chose to heal and get better and recover. My previous marriage was terrible and I was hurt. I chose to avoid relationships and dating to work on me. After working on myself for almost as long as I was married I finally got in a good place to pursue a relationship again. I think being a guy who works on himself and stays out of relationships is fine as long as it's temporary and you are working on yourself. Will some men never get to a place where they are good to get back into dating and relationships? Yeah unfortunately but they will still be better off staying single than getting back into dating without fixing what sabotaged their relationship success in the first place. Alex, I'm not afraid at all to hear what you'd have to say on the flip side of this coin. I divorced at 40 from a 10 year relationship. I haven't dated since. I am one of those men who has "walked away". There are certainly times that I'm lonely BUT, I can NOT go through that again. Losing everything and starting over. It's no longer an option. I believe men are more resilient than women in this regard, to the detriment of women who ignore 80% of us.
