Its a short story called "Pain Addict" The doctor wears some technology to feel what the patient feels. Its in season 4 episode 6 "Black Museum"

The bit about King Tut is historically accurate. A recent scan of the Mummy, shows severe impact trauma, with some Egyptologists putting it down to a chariot incident.

Yeah, this was one theory that the pattern of his bone injuries (broken leg which then became infected and the chest wall caving in) are indicative of some kind of traumatic injury, such as a chariot crash. However, later tests suggest that the chest wall may have collapsed after death when his grave was robbed and the mummy was disturbed. The best current theory is a combination of gangrene from the infected broken leg (nobody is sure of how the leg became broken) as well as other physical health problems he suffered from.

As much as everyone complains about the UK medical system - NHS, it's actually pretty good, and it's free, the only thing as a worker I have to pay for is prescriptions, which can be a rippoff if you are not careful, as they can prescribe Ibuprofen at £8.50 yet I can go to the supermarket and get it for 65p. And my wife loves your Tays t-shirt 😊👍

Will4May The NHS is indeed brilliant and it saves the lives of thousands of people every day :) but just to be clear; it’s not free, we pay for it in the form of paying national insurance contributions which come out of our pay.

James Allen: Yeah, most people pay much more into it than they take out of it (same with insurance, of course). Doesn’t make it a bad idea, of course, but we have to be intellectually honest about it.

@@SkonkBot Yeah I know tax payers pay for it, I am one of them, but compared to the US vers it's basically free, and because it comes out of tax you dont notice it, but paying 1000s in medical insurance you would feel that going out, my wife has 6 medications, because they are life threatening they are free, but if we moved to US or Canada we couldnt afford it.

Lol. This reminded me of one of the first XFM shows where Claire Sturgiss stood in for Karl as producer and Ricky and Steve said “she’s managed to get off the smack for a day and stand in for Karl” or words to that effect. And that was on live broadcast radio on a Saturday morning. Man I miss those broadcasts!

Karl is right about us not knowing if we are feeling well, I think he meant feel the best possible in our potential. I’ve been in times where I felt well, and lets say I started to take some vitamins or changed diet and felt much much better, that doesn’t invaludate that I felt well before.
