Goldberg is famous for his time in WCW and WWE, but his career is one of two halves. Bill Goldberg burst onto WCW Nitro in 1997 and had an incredible first year, his undefeated streak included winning the WCW US title and the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, but then his career started to decline. He arrived in WWE to much excitement, but his run is considered a disappointment, and his WWE return in 2016 tarnished his legacy as he had terrible matches with The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns and others. In this wrestling documentary we explore the rise and fall of Goldberg across WCW and WWE.

Dude he was literally burying Orton, Michaels and Jericho in that match. And he didn't earn it or deserve it. Should have been a much tougher fight for him. He was literally given everything , but he couldn't perform a decent match, therefore his run died out. Fans quickly got bored of him. @@Jspore-ip5rk

In the event following Summer Slam, Goldberg wiped the floor with Triple H in spite of him having the whole Evolution stable in his corner. Then In Survivor Series Goldberg did it again, and this time he had a (keyfabe) leg injury. Another WCW talent "buried" in Triple H's "reign of terror".

It's been rumored that Vince wanted Goldberg to partake in an Australian tour sometime before SummerSlam 2003, Goldberg straight up said no, and apparently that was the reason why he ended up losing that Elimination Chamber match in such a lousy fashion.. it was the company's way of punishing him for not wanting to go on an overseas tour under the boss's wishes.

But with the NWO starting to lose steam Goldberg was able to pick up the ball and run with it.... If you weren’t alive when Da Man came onto the scene, then you’ll never get why fans like me love Goldberg. And it pisses me off that wrestling marks try to reduce his career to the Regal match and the Hart ACCIDENT. Goldberg no more did that on purpose than the man in the moon. He was a phenom who got a hard push extremely early bc his look and move set alone got him over. So Bischoff pushed him and wanted him to be able to perform 4-5 moves extremely well. I’d say the pump handle fall away, the gorilla press slams, spear, and jackhammer more than fit the Bill. I was at Nitro and Raw every time they came to Austin, San Antonio, or Dallas. His pop was louder than Stone Cold’s or The Rock’s in person. I was also fortunate to be in Atlanta when he won the belt vs Hollywood. You couldn’t hear yourself think - and he’d been in the business like 10 months. He’s a legend in my book and always will be. Nothing like him before or since has ever come onto the scene in pro wrestling and never will. He’s a family man, never had drug problems, has always been in shape, and is in better shape at a retired 57 right now than everyone in this comments section. He deserved to head that Hall of Fame 2018 bc he was by far the biggest name of the class.

There's no facts or evidence of Goldberg ending Bret Hart's career, Goldberg used that kick on everyone and Hart was the only one to cry about it and Bret wrestled for about 6 months after that match. Nash buried Goldberg in WCW and HHH buried Goldberg in WWE. Say what you want but nobody in wrestling history got more famous faster than Goldberg and there's a lot of people jealous and resentful of that.

Same case for Cena, Hogan and many others. They're not the most technical wrestlers ever but they sticked to their niche and performed it better than anyone else could. Just two things from an otherwise fantastic video, 1. As you said yourself Kevin Nash took over booking in 1999 but Goldberg/Nash was in late 1998 so Nash hadn’t taken over and didn’t book himself to beat Goldberg, it’s also well known Goldberg was getting booed and receiving “Goldberg sucks” chants prior to Goldberg/Nash. 2. The kick Bret Hart got from Goldberg didn’t end Bret’s career as he wrestled Terry Funk in a hardcore match and Kevin Nash for the title a month after the Goldberg/Hart match and didn’t retire until almost a year later in late 2000.

Is this a joke list or something Goldberg was not booked improperly nor was he booked poorly. He was given all the chances while his momentum was somehow halted by triple h but he still had a very good run and people liked his approach The only issue was he was not really happy because he was not a team player and he was called out for this in the locker room in the locker room didn't like him. The main issue was that during that time while he was unhappy Brock was also unhappy and this resulted both of them not renewing their contract despite WWE giving them a lot of money The problem was a lot of travel and a lot of shows burned them out. The only reason Goldberg failed was because he didn't like to be in the company he used to bad mouth and hate WWE for a long time. After his ego was stopped he finally relented and had one last run in the WWE The problem with Goldberg was that he was unable to have long matches and was not really good in the ring beyond his few moves that has been called out by numerous wrestlers he has been known to be called Greenberg by Jericho by William regal and a lot of others. Goldberg was not an expert in the ring he used to beat up a lot of people known for his stiff moves also making most idiotic mistakes he injured his hand that sidelined him for almost 4 months due to injury , he also entered the career of Bret Hart and made sure that Undertaker face a very horrible injury that could have resulted in his death in KSA .

Like bobby heenan said about it.. when you beat Goldberg you killed the golden goose and why would you do that especially in the terrible way they did it then the follow up with the finger poke of doom. Them two things there really caused the downslide for WCW creatively and it just got worse and worse for the next 2 years they was in business

You are wrong. I asked for all those matches that you said nobody asked for. Goldberg should have ended Reigns' pitiful title run. Even at his advanced age, he was twice the wrestler Reigns will ever be!
