this is so sad… i remember watching girls planet 999 and being so excited for their debut but it was so sad to see their popularity dropping after their first few months..ㅜㅜ

The problem is really the agencie. No concept, no style, no good music, no budget, nothing. It's sad since all the girls are really talented but for a temporary group, having a fix concept and a short storyline is more efficient in order to creating a discography that would resonate throughout the years after the disband. It's more memorable and just allow the girl to grow with the concept and to distinct each other. Edit : yep I made a mistake : title tracks are not that good, but b side are (sorry MVSK 😭)

i love kep1er, they are one of my favorites. but kep1er was a disaster waiting to happen since girls planet. the delusions got to a lot of keplians heads real fast. they always had this "bad things are happening!" mindset. they ONLY supported kep1er when it benefited their bias and it was so toxic. yeah, wakeone was the absolutely worst for kep1er's entire career but some things were definitely taken too far. i'm genuinely excited for them to disband. i do fear they are going to have the post-ioi popularity because of wakeone's failure to manage kep1er, but i feel like disbandment is the best for all of them to get away from wakeone and the solo fans.

Watched Girls 999 while it was airing, had so much expectation from this group but their songs were not at par with the newer groups. Company indeed destroyed their potential

Kep1er was massively failed by their company and also by Mnet. Both parties should have worked together to at least create a rough blueprint of the path they planned to take Kep1er and when the group was formed, it was like no one knew what to do with them once they debuted. Kep1er was also failed by the fans. I just have to say it. There is so much toxicity in this one fandom (and I say this as a Kep1ian myself) that the fighting is basically nonstop. One of the biggest components that added to their lack of success was the fact that they went on Queendom and they shouldn't have even been considered given how new they were and that they were on a temporary contract. That was such a misstep. There are so many more components that go into why they lost their traction so soon in their career and it just makes me so angry for them. I love them and I really hope they find success after this group. I would have loved for them to stay together but not at this high of a cost.

can i just say, the fans really shot themselves in the foot since the finale of gp999. and i'm not talking about the final line up. i'm talking about the attitude fans had towards the group. obviously people are going to be put off by a group that even fans are saying "the line up is not good!" "the members except one isn't talented!" or "i'm not stanning this group i only like 3 girls in the line up" of course anyone coming into the fandom without knowing the show would take this as fact because the group fans are the ones saying it. and as the group continued it was filled with "the songs are bad, the group is bad, everything is bad" and everyone is going to follow along. and even for bahiyyih, keplians kept saying "she doesn't deserve to be here!" and then get shocked when kpop fans repeat those same words even today as if they were not the ones to start the narrative. the fans overall were just the worst group of people kep1er could have had.

THEY DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH WE BEG FOR WAKEONE TO TAKE ACTION, TO RESPONSE TO OUR REQUESTS, TO TREAT THE GIRLS LIKE HUMANS! to stop being misogynistic. as the girls contract is coming to an end, i tend to look back at all the things they went trough to this moment to the point where even Mashiro, who cried during queendom 2 due to being worried about the members health, was laughing about fainting during a fansign and the girls clearly being exhausted during practice. yes, we love to see the girls on stage and it's great they get to meet kep1ians before it ends. but it's not okay when the girls lifes are basically on edge for non-stop working and practicing, going from event to another, taking flights from country to another. and the company, on top of all, can not even do the bare minimum to make these last moments enjoyable for everyone, kep1er and kep1ians. not updating us about Youngeun's health during the time her father passed away and recently she didn't attend Yeseo's graduation, she had to update kep1ians herself trough bubble because the company stayed silent. The girls going to health check ups more than what is normal and telling us about it themselfs instead of the company. this is getting sick and exhausting for both kep1er and kep1ians and we are more than happy to see the girls finally be free from this company. of course it is something to be sad about, you see our girls are like family, they have known each other for years.. i also think it's funny when haters can't come up with anything else to diss kep1er/kep1ians about expect "they are disbanding in july btw!" "worry about your favorites disbanding soon!" i would be more worried if the girls had to continue being under that company for longer than it is set to. also with the kep1er concept, it is stupid people make fun of it or say "it is not making sense" when it is. the girls represent the 9 planets and going trough different styles is part of their lore

I really hope they will redebut in good agencies after disbandement :'( Kep1er has an EXCELLENT dance line and a good rap line but it doesn't show in their songs Hikaru, Dayeon, Xiaoting and Youngeun fit a way stronger concept, even the others could shine more in this But their agency is wasting everything: concept, budget, line distribution, music quality...

i’m a huge kep1ian, they’re one of my ult groups. i have every single of their albums and watched every single video. i’m so sad that wake1 isn’t providing good title tracks, a decent budget, a stable concept and etc. the thing is that their title tracks aren’t half bad but they just don’t stand out (imo). was definitely something but i don’t think it was as bad as people stated it to be, it was just even weaker than their other already weak title tracks. MVSK could’ve easily been the title track for their debut album which would’ve definitely boosted a decent amount of their popularity or respect at least. Up can’t be replaced as it’s their most popular song and many people say “no other group can perform such a good summer song” (their words not mine). Downtown could’ve replaced We Fresh. Giddy fits lovestruck the most but Back to the City provides more equal line distribution (to prevent people from complaining). I don’t think there’s any song in Magic Hour that could replace Galileo and their b-sides are good as well.

It was a bad move to have them compete against WJSN, Hyolin and Loona everyone on that show where veteran idols

It started with the show ngl, they were so fixated on the drama that actual talent got overshadowed. Then when they debuted they had a decent song and just had no clear direction. Kep1er deserves so much better. The Kpop industry is so Saturated right now with girl groups it’s hard for ANY group to stand out. The girls haven’t even had a proper CF! Im not saying they should work anymore than they already do but some publicity would’ve helped them a great deal.

I was very disappointed by the way they were managed. I remember they were supposed to have more of a sci-fi type concept, but they haven’t stuck with that concept and they seemed to have bounced around a lot. It seems like the group hasn’t found their sound. It’s very unfortunate what’s happened to Kep1er, all these girls are talented and deserved to have a successful career. I doubt that they’ll extend their contract, and just end up disbanding. I’m curious to see what happens if that happens, what will happen with the members? Will some choose to go solo, will some join already existing groups, or will some go on another survival show?

It crazy since the last major 5 GGs for 4th gen, Newjeans, IVE, and Le Sserafim popped off immediately because they knew the concepts and chores worked for them, NMIXX struggled at first, but eventually found their footing and are gaining popularity, and Kep1er was always the one out of peoples minds, even though the songs themselves were good

The thing is, people also bash them for switching concepts. WAKEONE did a terrible job telling everyone that switching things up was their concept - as their concept is about planets and their diffrent environments. WAKEONE failed to even make a sliver of that lore until the Kep1er's strange market promo video.

Wake One is known for mismanagement of groups, I think one of the biggest example of this is their boy group TO1

i used to be a pretty avid kep1er stan (gp999-end of we fresh era) and their biggest enemy and cause of downfall is and will always be wakeone. the predebut hype WAS there, both domestically and internationally. even wdd, despite not being public friendly, was a success. and then they sent kep1er to queendom, and it all fell apart from there. no promotions as a group, no clear concept, barely utilizing their members and two subpar songs later, the group is already ending. there was no reason for this to happen-all of the members always targeted a specific demographic (ie chaehyun is very popular domestically and hiyyih is popular internationally) but they never did much to capitalize on their individual popularity, which just left the group stagnant. the sad fact is that kep1er was just an experiment-a way to test the waters after the produce scandals. when mnet and wakeone saw that this formula was still successful, they dumped all their resources into replicating it but with other groups, and with obvious consideration to their concept and content. it’s a shame. under any other company, they would’ve succeeded, but here we are :/

Its important to keep in mind that while their popularity in Korea is lower they are overwhelmingly the top 4th gen girl. group in Japan popularity wise with them constantly winning public polls on the topic. Similarly kep1ers japanese concepts seem to have been managed better as I believe sony is in charge rather than wakeone.

Seriously, their treatment of Bahiyyih was their biggest shot in their own foot. It wasn’t nepotism or Kai that got her in the group. It was the fact that fans were hyper aware MNet was editing the trainees to highlight the trainees they wanted to debut, ignoring the ones they didn’t want, and actively evil editing the ones that did too well but they didn’t want (cai bing or fu yaning for example). Bahiyyih was smart. She knew they were just using her for her brother because it was obvious when they focused on it so much in her first stage, and then even asked her to call him for advice and film it. She knew she was getting hate when she was announced. And she knew MNet didn’t truly want her. So she kept her head down, didn’t go for big roles that she might make mistakes it, where she might get hated by the public even more than she already was, and she didn’t give MNet any moment to evil edit her. because they would have if they could. And fans NOTICED that. We realized MNet was just using her to bring in international fans. We heard of the hate she got even before the show when she was just announced. A lot of people organically because curious of her, and when she was obviously ignored and intentionally erased in the show by mnet it solidified her fanbase even more, because now she was officially the underdog and survival show fans always love the underdogs. Like ffs during the final episode every girl read letters from home but only she was edited out. She’s shown she’s a funny and kind girl and many trainees had great things to say about how she helped lead, but we never saw any of it right? Fans knew something fishy was going on. So people who were curious why she was being hated or why she was being ignored checked out her fancams. She was great! A rookie trainee, for sure, but she had a good voice and good dancing. So a lot of her fans are organic. Even if you disagree with that, if someone has dedicated 3 years (since gp999) to supporting an idol, they’ve dedicated their time and money to them for this long, they’ve turned most of their attention to this one idol for 3 whole years, then it doesn’t matter who they were a fan of first. At this point in time, her fans are her fans no matter who else they like. It’s all just excuses to discredit her. So WakeOne has this girl who would’ve won first if based off of total vote going into debut, extremely popular abroad (where the majority of viewers for gp999 came from), while the public is shocked because she was edited out so much that casual viewers didn’t even know she existed. And what does WakeOne do? Piss off her fans by hiding her as much as possible, and solidify her image of “unworthy” to the public. What they should’ve done is what they did with Ricky in ZB1. He was also the wild card nobody expected in BP999 and their management team was smart because they made sure not to erase him in the MVs and gave him key parts that showcased his talent, while not actually giving him a ton of lines. Bahiyyih proved in GP999 in Fiesta she has great vocals. The teams image and reputation matters more than who can technically sing a line better. They should’ve given her better lines to refute the “unworthy” image her haters were trying to stick on her. They should’ve also announced legal action against antis, like they did for ZB1’s Jiwoong. There was a fcking GOVERNMENT petition to kick Bahiyyih out and the company did absolutely nothing. Her own family was begging antis to stop. And WakeOne never did a single thing to stop it. They shouldn’t have forced her into using her last name because it only brings her more hate, therefore the group gets more hate, and it also looks REALLY fugly on official merch and albums. Every other member, even Yujin when there’s like 5 yujins in K-pop and using her last name could tie her to CLCs popularity, doesn’t use her last name. They should’ve started showing Bahiyyih more towards the end of GP999 once they saw that she was getting enough votes to be in the final lineup. They should’ve realized they didn’t have any control over it so they needed to get a head start on allowing casual viewers to like the final lineup. They created an entire redemption arc for Sohye in PD101 even though she was leagues more untalented than Bahiyyih. They should’ve shown her helping lead her groups. They should’ve shown her in the practice rooms. But instead they dug their heels in and ignored her harder because they absolutely did NOT want her. And it caused her to have a massive hate train against her. They should have BEEN letting these girls release their vocal covers from day one. They should’ve had a concept that suited them better instead of using a manufactured concept that was obviously planned out way before the final lineup was announced. They should’ve never sent them to queendom and wasted months and ruined the girls confidence and enshrine them as the poor rookies of the show. They should’ve had a comeback instead that focused more on the MVSK sound that was so well received during debut. They should’ve never released We Fresh because it was OBVIOUS people didn’t like that sound anymore but WakeOne looked at WDD’s numbers (not its actual reception by the public) and wanted to replicate those numbers so they tried to make a similar song that ended up being so much less memorable because of how grating it was to the ears. Even outside the Kep1er fandom, Back to the City is one of the few uncontested favorites by nearly everyone. Why? It’s fair to all the girls, it has a fresh sound, good choreography, had great styling, a story to the lyrics, everything. And what did WakeOne do with that information? Release fcking Galileo. Kep1ers hardcore fans will defend it until they die “well Yeseo ate Chaehyun and one of them disappeared into a painting, it has a storyline!” No. It’s a watered down cutesy concept that again shoved half the members into the background and highlighted the ones who are highlighted every time, with a sound like it’s from 2014. The only improvement was that they highlighted Xiaoting more and seemed to get over their aversion to using her popularity. But that made the fandom even more intolerable because now Xiaotings solo stans are using it as a “gotcha this is why our fave is better than yours” against Bahiyyih’s fans (the two most popular members so ofc these two groups fight the most bc they see each other as competition) so Bahiyyih’s fans start dragging Xiaoting and so Xiaotings fans drag Bahiyyih even more and on and on and on and omfg it’s just TIRING. Kep1er is like a never ending internal war raged between solo stans, with the worst breed of OT8s, occasionally coming in to do their monthly drag of Bahiyyih, causing her fans to get whipped into a frenzy and start attacking other members. All of this is why Kep1er ended the way they did. WakeOne shot themselves in the foot because they couldn’t get over not having the lineup they wanted, and then refused to maintain the girls images and protect them, and refused to do anything about the internal fan issues. They refused to let the girls show their individual talents until it was too late and they forced them into a cookie cutter concept that didn’t fit them and that they publicly didn’t like. They refused to listen to fans input or study which songs the fandom liked the best so they could follow the trends. They were just incompetent to an unbelievable level and they wasted 9 talented girls early careers in the process. I really do wish them all the best in the future because after the shitshow that was wakeones management of Kep1er, they deserve it.

I watched girls planet and I knew these girls are all very talented, it’s just their company didn’t promote them well. It will be sad to see them disband later this year but I’m excited to see what all these girls get up to

Funny, i think kep1ers recent albums have been great, as well as their variety content. But i have no idea if wakeone or mnet deems kep1er successful, even though their title tracks get decent-to-respectable views. They also leverage kep1er a lot in japan, where they seem to be able to do stadium/dome shows. Elz7up had great potential as well, but they didnt even get a great single like kep1er did. As such, when you compare what they have accomplished with kep1er in comparison, i truly believe mnet is not going to do better than kep1er, who still have massive potential. Mnet put more effort into puzzle studios than elz7ups debut. Which means they will create another gg and wont know what to do with their hype either.

i cheered so much for the girls during gp999 and i still try to keep tabs on their comebacks but ever since they forced them into queendom right after debut i lost all interest in stanning. that move itself made me realize the company did not care about this group succeeding

im a casual listener and honestly up! was their best tt and a really good song/concept, i wish they would have exploited the cute fresh joyful concept more, specially because it's not a concept that's being rlly explored by 4th gen (even tho it was popular in 3rd gen, see red velvet) and it would definitely have made them stand out

The only major issue are the songs/titles. Izone had a couple of timeless songs. People fell inlove with their musical concept. Kepler seemed like they release chaotic songs, which often times relied on similar gimmicks. Though I will cherish their 2nd album, with the angelic bside "La Voyage". P.S. I did like Galileo, honestly more than all other titles XD

this is a little over the top if you ask me while I agree that yes their popularity has gone down a little recently you have to remember that their first 3 albums were certified platinum and the song Wa Da Da was aswell on top of that they are very popular in Japan the Japanese songs they've released have all charted in the top 3 and the company at least does know that since they're about to go on their second tour in Japan

if you think about it, zerobaseone was the final nail in the coffin for this group. with other girl groups debuting with a bigger fanbase at that time in 2021-2023. kepler just felt like it was lacking a sense of direction. the group actually was doing fine in their first year and momentum was steady, but as more and more girl groups debuted their momentum collapsed. eventually leaving them without much growth for the group as other fanbases grew rapidly. i think mnet and wakeone will seriously need to do more self evaluation before commiting to another girl group in the future. i also believe GP999 was a dissapointment for many fans and i think this needs more consideration from mnet and wakeone. thats my 2 cents

I like Kep1er, they have really good bside songs it's just the company... I love all the girls I might not be a regular watcher of the survival show but I knew about it. I just hope whatever they decide it's best for them. And if anything keep listening to their songs they really have good songs and my personal favorite is tropical light(it's a unit song), back to the city and dreams.

I have been in a bittersweet mood over kep1er since they formed, I told myself I wouldn't get attached to a temporary group but Kep1er drew me in with their first comeback Up! It's been painful to see how they went from being a group with a lot of potential to a group that most people only see as a failure now. All of the girls have the talent, skill, and potential that any other successful group has, the only thing they are missing is a company that would manage them correctly. Around a year ago, I was looking forward to when Kep1er could be free from wake one which meant they would have to disband, but these days I'm dreading their disbandment because I know their post-kep1er activities could force them into nugudom. While there are dedicated keplians, we aren't as strong or as big of a fanbase as wiz*ones were, which is part of the reasons all of the post-iz*one groups are extremely popular. I can only hope for the best for my girls and enjoy the last remaining months we have with them, and support them in whatever they do after kep1er.

For me as an overseas fan of kpop, the problem is the vast number of members. I am a big fan of stray kids, so I'll use them as an example. The concept was set from day one and music consistently levels up, but there were too many member. Once woojin left I saw both I.N and Seungmin bloom. The numbers were cut and I saw a distinct role for each member. These rap, this guy has the bridge deep voice, these dance and rap some and so on with the vocals. Clear. With a group like Treasure I just saw too many people and it was an overlook on member who clearly can shine above the others. Super junior worked in a weird way and EXO to an extent, but it's the same thing with NCT just too much. Plus this is a temp group also so there is no real reason to invest. The talent was in Kepler, but their concept was confusing and some ofbthe members were not really highlighted enough.

I'm disappointed because I really just started getting into Kep1er. I really hope that we get to see more from the girls especially Xiaoting and Hikaru after Kep1er disbands. The girls have so much potential.

Kep1er had so much potential to grow and shine in the industry. Wakeone is the problem, if they had a different agency they would've succeeded

Whatever. They've been making tons of money in japan. You can see that on press release and company filings. What a huge success in japan at least.

Kep1er is a case where they'll land on their feet. They are such strong talent individually that a lot of agencies are probably chomping at the bits to get chances to sign them (if they weren't pre-signed already). That said, Kep1er could have EASILY been as big as IZ*ONE / IOI as a group. They never quite got there I think.

Kep1er is and will be my 2nd fav group ❤ I hope that their contract somehow get renewed

I feel very bad for them since WAKEONE is really the main problem. I love their music, it’s all amazing, but WAKEONE really did not give them the stardom that they deserved.

Honestly, Kep1er had so much momentum after wa da da but then their comebacks after that weren't that great. Not to mention they stop doing their space concept for some reason until the Galileo comeback. Plus they had so much pressure on them to follow up on the success of Iz*one. It also bothers me that wake one seems to put more emphasis on ZeroBaseOne now that Kep1er is set to disband soon.

And all of this leads to one main reason... WAKEONE. God I always hated that company, but what can we do zb1 are also under that shitty company, I'm so scared they will have to go through wk1 bad treatment. As much as I'm seeing rn zb1 are doing really really great, but the fact they're under wk1, who treated these poor girls in a very bad way is making me worried. I think wakeone is kinda trying to do better with zb1, but only time will make us know. It's already been 7 months since zb1 debuted, they had 2 albums that had high sales and a good amount of streams in both, their fandom is pretty strong even tho there is a lot of akgaes, they've been going viral several times on social bc of their "gen z behaviour", their visuals, their talents. So far everything is going well. But that worry in me is still there :(

I wish wake one would stop treating the members like they don’t exist and get like better management for them and maybe they’ll help and I’m saying that I’m trying to extend the contract. Seems like a lie.

But I feel bad for all the members getting the hype and attention around their debut only to gradually decrease as their career went on... especially for Yujin after many years working as a member of CLC, a group that certainly gained at least a decent amount of attention I mean almost everyone knows who CLC is when Yujin was announced as a participant in GP999

They are a fantastic performance group! I thought from day one that they should go rock/hip hop…so many of these girls would shine in this concept!

Their appearance in Queendom genuinely shocked me. There alongside groups like Brave Girls who were on their last legs, WJSN who I believe everyone thought was already dead, and VIVIZ trying to rise from the ashes of GFriend and here's a brand new group just formed. Babies, children, tiny darlings... what are you doing here?!

The only member I know is just Bahiyyih. She's famous in internasional market, but agency gives almost zero line in debut era. After that, I don't give any attention to Kep1er anymore. I keep rooting Bahiyyih from TXT content/activities. If only agency gave Bahiyyih better role, maybe I would keep giving attention to this group, like IVE Girl group. I only knew Wonyoung because she was Park Sunghoon's MC patner. Because of Wonyoung, gradually I give more attention to other members in IVE.

I've been really enjoying the cooking show three of the members do recently so i got more interested in the group but then i found out they will disband soon😢

I think kpop fandom is also to be blamed. They oberhyped the show and debut and then gave up on them. Then they criticized every move made by the company and group. It is also hard for the company to then do the right thing and know what to do. There are also many groups ro compete against.

It's really sad what happened with Kep1er. I didn't follow GP999 closely but was looking forward to them to being one of the big girl groups in 4th gen but unfortunately they couldn't 😢 I hope once they disband they are able to debut under companies who give them good music and concpets, cares about them and utilise their talents and skills 😊

I really like kep1er as a group but their discography is the definition of basic, Wake one really failed to catch the audiences attention after they debuted. If you look at popular groups nowadays like Ive, Le sserafim, NewJeans etc they catch the attention of the listeners with every cb, yet Kep1er had a steady downfall…
