I hate to be the one to tell you this, but it’s very likely that there are buggy parts in most of your food. 🪰Unless your diet contains only ultra-processed foods, those fruits, veggies, and grains are all grown outside surrounded by nature (and bugs). 🍁
The specific ingredient that gets candy corn involved in the whole myth about using bugs as an ingredient is called shellac. Shellac is a lac-resin from the insect Laccifer lacca.
✅ Does candy corn use bugs as an ingredient? No.
✅ Does candy corn have bug poop in it? No.
✅ What’s candy corn actually made out of? A lot of sugar and glazed with an insect section named shellac.
