After dropping my 2017 Honda Civic Type R off for service, Honda of Hackettstown loaned me their 2017 Honda Accord V6 Touring. As part of the Touring package, Honda has the Lane Keep Assist, or LKAS, and radar guided cruise control, which honda calls Adaptive Cruise Control, or ACC. Here is a demo of that technology.

That's crazy tech! I like the active braking as I'm sure it will get you out of trouble a time or two. Overall I think they would make me TOO relaxed to drive. Ps... Got my 18 CW CTR last night gato! Hope to see you at a meet/event someday.

The ONLY downside to the ‘self driving’ for these year Honda’s (I’m talking 17 pilot too) is the display flashing ‘keep hand on wheel’ randomly…. Even when your hand IS on the wheel. But they will fully stop. Stay in the lane pretty damn good, and makes a perfect opportunity to knit 🧶

I have that in my Type R, you can also set the distance to the car in front. Brakes down to 16mpg then the dashboard goes bat S#!t crazy to tell you to take over.

nice chilling video as always ^^ two quick questions : - other than the awesome sound of the V6, how's the car in general ? - will the car follow the road if there are no markings ? or will it completely Dukes of Hazard it ?

First - full review out tomorrow, winter/snow review out soon as well. Second, without markings, it'll get completely lost, and you'll end up in a ditch! Lol it tells you it lost the markings.

So I test drove a ‘18 2.0 Touring. The LKAS was so sensitive it was disappointing. What I mean is after only one or two small corrections to keep you in the lane it needed you to take hold of the wheel again. I’ve heard the Tesla system is much more independent and would love to demo one.

Right now all self driving stuff requires you to hold the wheel after around 10 seconds

This video made me google if the CTR come with Honda sensing package. apparently it doesnt have any advanced safety features like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking and lane-keeping assist. how about that adaptive cruise control ? im hoping CTR got that ACC. I hope the 2019 CTR or 2020 comes with sensing! maybe option to add it.
