If she had put herself out there more, she could have found someone 10000x better than Sheldon. Amy needed to give dating a real chance, for like a year.

She wasn’t perfect for Sheldon, because she is what Sheldon is and not what he needed. Amy made Sheldon more human. This girl probably would just let Sheldon be Sheldon without change. In other words we need someone to sharpen ourselves, which comes from precise friction, not to destroy but to sharpen and make strong. Amy was the Whet stone Sheldon needed.

Here is the thing about this dream woman: she likely wouldn’t have 1% the patience Amy would. Like Bernadette she could easily meet another. If Sheldon were to rebuff her physically, emotionally, or not be empathetic when needed would see her kick him to the curb. It’s not that Amy took abuse, she understood Sheldon. Any other woman likely would have felt he is an egotistical, East Texan, insulting SOB like Leslie felt.

@@Grunoloj I will give you that Amy is weird. But she's certainly no more selfish than the guys are. I just don't see her as an insulting person. (I mean, after all, they wanted to give her some funny lines, and in the show a lot of the funny lines are insult lines.) Penny insults Howard quite a bit. And then there's Bernadette. She's 100 times more aggressive than Amy. If you don't see Amy's charm (not even her secret crush on Penny?!), I won't try to convince you of it. Taste varies enormously. But my suspicion is that people have different standards for women

She was! It was the America's Next Top Model house, and she got to be on that first episode because she was actually a contestant on ANTM and it was a challenge prize. (Technically it was Sam, the girl that spoke to Howard and Raj, that won the challenge and chose Analeigh to join her). I just looked them up and they go by Lio now and are nonbinary

Someone who shares all the same interests with Sheldon and is similarly competent wouldn't work with him, it threatens his massive superiority complex. E.g. when Sheldon asks someone a difficult question he usually doesn't want to hear the answer, he wants to lecture them (see Priya and the toast, Howard when he took Sheldon's course and the grad students when he gave a lecture).

This is such a killer scene! 🤣 A smart and irresistibly pretty, thus at first glance absolutely perfect lady that you get a crush on within one tenth of a second, and then the Sheldon-effect! 🤣 All good things must come to an end, and The Big Bang Theory can't make an exception there, but man! The humour in this show was something else. Outstanding! 🤗

Kaley Kooky is a highly experienced comedic actress with good timing. She got it playing Beach Girl in 8 simple rules. The aim of TBBT was to make her stand out.... the rose among the thorns...ergo they would not have cast another tallish sexy blonde in a permanent role. All these TV shows follow a blueprint... If you watch them long enough you can see how everything is deliberate..right down to the character names.
