Singularity is so close to being perfect he's a killer who seems right up my alley of a control/setup style (like hag & trapper which are my main two killers) killer but he also still has a power while in chase so if the setup fails you still have a power. Like honestly seems like so much fun to play as and against. Thoroughly impressed.

Another negative is the interaction bots have with the pods. They are able to know exactly when you inhabit a pod, which pod it is, and the precise LoS of said pod; not to mention their insane efficiency with the EMP. With talks of DC bots coming in the near future, I really don't want instances of "For Honor level 3 Shaman" bot bullshit again...

Oh man, you just unlocked a memory. I always loved shaman bot. As a former shaman main it was always fun to see how AI performs better than me. Gosh, the for honor times were so long ago that I had enough time to enter university and go halfway to graduation. Damn..

@@TrueAuthenticSweets i would call it a good achievement for the devs. Usually bots are just fresh meat in games (DBD) but in FH you need a special approach to them. I always found it cool

Yeah but bots also just run in straight lines often and are not very hard to catch just by M1ing, so I really doubt they will be much trouble when they replace a human player.

I had this idea that maybe survivors had to choose between disabling the pod on themselves, or the cameras. Its more engaging having to think about how and when to use them. But eh, idk, maybe the killer would then just be able to infect them again immediately.

Being able to charge up a self-shock like how it is now or charge longer to also zap cameras nearby might be a good change. Gotta think about the tradeoff between cleansing fast but still being vulnerable to more nearby pods

This would be the perfect change I think. If you have the blob you have to remove it, then fetch another EMP to be able to disable cameras.

The singularity can infect you very fast, if you need to be uninfected to disable cameras, I guarantee you you will never break them. And having to choose between a fast self cleaning or a aoe one by charging it longer, sounds like a good idea, but if you uninfect yourself and leave the cameras be, your asking to be infected again. I don't really have a better idea to tone down emps though. Maybe just make them respawn slower/decrease the amount of crates/make it so that survivors need to finish the printing by interacting with it for the last few seconds?

The chase music is terrible, the mori is underwhelming af, and the new map is hella sense for no reason. Another L honestly. Which is No surprise since their original killers have all been shit lately

Sure it might look pretty but you won’t care about looks when you can’t track a survivor very well or can’t really use your power that requires line of sight. His mori is literally a recycle of Nemisis and Blight lmao it’s ass. People say it’s the most gory one we have why? Because you see skull and the face melts off? It's good to hear this, i've tried playing him in custom bot matches to mess around and found that the bots are nigh impossible to play against, being shockingly good at just completely countering him at every turn, knowing precisely when you're on a camera and immediately hiding and god, the EMPS are insanely frustrating when used well. It felt like half the time 75% of my pods were just shut down because of the bots always having one on hand, it basically just made him a standard M1 killer.

The bots litterally just know exactly how to counter. My game took forever but I was able to only let them pop 2 gens because I could easily hold the other 5 gens with my power. Just another 3 gen with the current emp and power

@@thedoomslayer5863 Except his power doesn't just give him free hits or insanely massive slowdown like Knight or SM. It involves counterplay from both sides. His TP isn't a guaranteed hit so he is still forced to chase survivors normally. It isn't countered by W key like Knight or SM so it forces both sides to play loops still. The literal ONLY thing the killers have in common is "sets power down on the map" and with SM "gets info from power"

Hey Scott, how would you feel about the EMPs being like a diminishing returns type of deal, where the boxes take a little bit longer every time an EMP is obtained from one of the crates?

That's actually a decent idea. We don't have a very stall heavy meta currently so it's really the survivors fault if the game takes too long and Singularity starts snowballing from a lack of EMPs. Especially with the new Scavenger perk survivors will have more resources to focus on Gens. I feel like Singularity also needs more addons to interact with crates or habe some kind of interaction themselves.

I do like the idea of EMP’s taking longer to print the more you make. Maybe give a reason like the printers are getting weaker from producing the EMP’s and so they take longer to make the more it produces. Could provide more interesting slowdown and punish players for getting hit by the power too much.

@@fatalduchessdineondirt6629 or there is a resource on the map you have to collect and bring to the printer to speed it up. So you keep the passive creating process but make it so survivors can only speed up the process by physically recovering an item on the map(maybe raw material or a keycard).

Passive generation should be lowered, that way interacting with the crate takes a bit longer and EMPs are more scarce unless you're going out of your way to get one

The best part about the new killer is that he has built-in easy adjustment for devs to buff/nerf him as needed and that being these emp boxes being infinite. If the boi is too stronk you reduce the respawn time of EMPs, if boi is too weak you increase the timer instead.

Honestly, I like scott's suggested change. But I also think there should a metric fuck ton less boxes since there like at least 6 when at most there should only be like 3 since the EMP charge range is pretty big. So they should either have less boxes, or should make the charge range significantly smaller. On top of the whole 75% auto progress change scott suggested.

The devs should also tweak the spawn locations for the EMP boxes. They shouldn't spawn right next to a gen, because if the killer has a pod set up there it's practically always disabled since by the time it reboots you can just grab another one from the box.

I think it would be better if the EMPs had a longer use time, but instant pick up. Even if the EMPs aren't an instant pick up, people will likely still have one in their hand if it counters the killer. If they have to hold still and take like 10 seconds or something, it would mean they couldn't easily do it in a chase unless they lost the killer.

If I could choose how to change the EMPs, I'd make it so that each time an EMP is used, it takes slightly longer for the boxes to make a new one, up to a cap

Hot take but I don’t think the map is that bad. Yeah there’s no line of sight and every corner isn’t easy to navigate, but what happens if all maps are open?- Stealth killers become unusable. I think the wide diversity between maps (altho some may be dawgshit) is great because even this map can be good for certain play styles, but I get where you’re coming from in terms of overall design

I think they were afraid to make him too strong with repeated teleporting and made the counter to his power strong enough to balance it out, but overcompensated on that end. There's a bunch of ways they could fix them, but I agree that whatever they do needs to make the EMP's less accessible and plentiful.

Rather than them necessarily taking longer to acquire (which can still theoretically be overcome to some extent since it's so quick to use and survivors might stockpile them), I'm personally a fan of them having a "global" CD of sorts, i.e. once one has been used somewhere, NONE can be used until the time of their effectiveness (or at least some of it) wears off. Might encourage more strategy about when and where they're used. Downside, I think that's also possibly just not enough to reliably counter him, so maybe that's not the best way.

I played the killer against a friend and in one fairly short chase I was able to lock on to him twice (which is already difficult on a lot of maps!) and in that same chase he was able to immediately EMP it off BOTH times before I was able to even catch up. Once with an EMP he was already holding, then he passed a chest, picked it up and had it off within a few seconds. If they're good with those EMPs it feels maddening to try and even get his actual teleport off once in a game lol

It’s even worse when survivors work together. Yesterday I had a god like jake constantly picking up an EMP as the killer was chasing me all game and clearing the infection off of me constantly, which rendered the killer into a basic M1. Ended up having a 5 gen chase and escaped.

a change that could help with the emps is have all the chests go to 75% except for 2 random ones that will open. still would have to open a chest but you might be lucky and get one. alternatively you can just remove a couple of chests.

Played him twice on ptb and besides the problem you mentioned with the boxes being instant, my only complaint was the fact that I got gen rushed at borgo and ormond :(

Do you think the singularity allows for a good amount of skill expression? I always prefer playing killers with a high amount of it because as mentioned in one of your previous videos, it correlates with fun in some ways.

I think the skill expression is in Macro gameplay and not his Micro gameplay as much. The micro gameplay has some skill involved in terms of swapping turrets fast and aiming well and knowing good spots to place the turrets. The Macro gameplay is all about making assumptions on where survivors will go and what they are doing

I think there are a lot of small things that feel really good about him, as opposed to the weird clunkiness that plagues some of DBD’s killers. Like “oh, well he can’t do this so he’s not exactly super good at zoning, but he can do this which opens up a lot of ways to chase certain pallets.” It just feels a lot better than I anticipated and I’m pleasantly surprised.

100% agree. After watching someone else play, the EMPs are too abundant. Especially with the new special item thing (which as a surv main, I am very excited about), where you can hold more than one thing at a time, there's no reason to not immediately grab an EMP at the start of the match. Overall though, this is the first chapter in a while that I'm actually excited for. The killer seems pretty well designed and it's honestly a breath of fresh air.

If they made it so the emps remove the slipstream and diasble biopods but only biopods that are within 16 (or however far they can shoot) meters of a gen. That way they cant 3 gen and camp but they can use them in chase.

They could make it so there are less chests in total but each chest can hold multiple emps this both reduces the rate in which emps spawn and limits the locations in which they can be acquired at without taking away from the total amount of emps that are potentially on the map, giving survivors who conserve their emps a bigger advantage in the end game

(Speaking as someone who hasn't touched the game since like, last year.) What if they kept the boxes as they are now, but just reduced the number of them? Seems like the issue is mostly just how many they can get in so little time. what if there was only like, 2 or 3 boxes at a time or something?

I’ve seen the videos he’s honestly broken and is both good at 3 gens and op in chase people don’t play him right if they’re in cameras nonstop only counter is body blocks and even then he is so fast can change target or just tp to them again he will be impossible to counter if they’re tunneling (can shoot emp pods to reset and use them with no cool down making emp useless and no tp cool down with main power fire)

the new tiles they added in the map are actually interesting. Having ramps in Z walls gives balance landing more use in maps with no built in drops. Thats about the only positive it has though.

Really hope they do something before it comes to live because there's no downside to EMPs like there is to cleansing Plague. This killer has 100% of their power countered by this item which isn't the same as the bonus effect that infection is on Nemesis and Wesker. Those two still have a power when you're uninfected and Plague forces you to remain injured or give her access to one of the strongest chase abilities in the game.

I think that the boxes should open automatically but only for the first EMP of that box. After you take the first EMP of the box it won't open automatically but of course make the manual opening time faster then it is rn if they add this change.

with this killer, the snowball is insane. while its not like oni, he can still capitalize on a tiny lead to win. the issue is, unlike oni, the emps make it impossible to do this on indoor maps and during the late game. when theres only a few areas on the map that survivors want to be in, the emps can absolutely destroy his entire presence. i played on rpd west wing and i was doing really well until it came down to 2 gens, then my power was literally unusable for the rest of the game. they constantly had emps and they could just spam them in the few areas they want to be in, keeping my cameras down constantly. setting up new ones doesnt matter, they've got ten more emps. this is the main reason that i agree with scott here, because the emps become such a massive issue late game. if coordinated survivors split into pairs with emps, theres just no catching them.

So is it confirmed a bug that having a pallet dropped on you instantly breaks it while in overclock? I really hope it is, that's pretty much my only issue with him

Uh no lol the power specifically states he can’t be stunned in overclock which means the pallet kinda has to break if that’s part of his base kit. Otherwise the pallet would just push him onto either side of it depending on how far in he was lol

I agree that the chests shouldn't open by themselves. When I first started playing the PTB with my friends noone had read anything about anything because we like to go into stuff like this blind. So our strategy at the beginning was to spend time to open up the boxes to have EMP's available in the future, and as soon as we found out they open by themselves we all got dissapointed that a fun strategy to counter the killer was done automatically.

idk, I think the EMPS are almost a "necessary evil". They NEED to be so readily available otherwise The Singularity's power is just.. so oppressive. It's not hard to mark a survivor through a camera or tp to one in the same way which means the "counter-play" also needs to be not hard otherwise it creates this imbalanced seesaw of effort. If a killer has to go out of their way and try their hardest to hold a 3-gen but the survivors also need to try just as hard to break it, it's seen as fair (albeit stressful). If you're the side that has to put in less effort, its more relaxing but its completely unfun for the other side (Example A being the Skull Merchant with how easily she can hold 3-gens). The EMPs kinda walk that line where survivors are putting in roughly the same amount of effort that the killer is for infecting survivors (a bit less but its close I think). Not to say that I don't think there needs to be some change but it's a hard thing to balance and screwing it up could unironically ruin the killer. What I think SHOULD be done is instead of items you can carry forever, they should be temporary items that "discharge" automatically after a certain amount of time. It doesn't remove any of the effort on either side's part but also helps fix the issue of it being too easy for survivors to remove everything at will (You'd also be allowed to discharge it at will). This change would just make it so you can't go grab an EMP for "When you need it" unless you need it then or soon instead of "oh, let me grab it at the start for 3 minutes later when the killer is about to get a down". The alternative is to make it take more effort for survivors by forcing them to take 2-3 seconds to pull the EMP out of a fully opened box which could be tricky because it could easily tip into the killer being overbearing and hard to counter.

what i love about this guy is he is everything i love about dredge (map pressure and is inhuman) and everything i love about skull merchant (serveilance with a chase power, at least if you use strobes and readout) and before you ask yes i play chase merchant, im not a cringe 3 genner (unless the survivors literally do all gens but 3 in close proximity then thats there fault not mine)

Honestly while I love the power and mechanical design of the singularity aside from the overabundance of emps, I feel people aren't giving enough credit to his aesthetic design and the variety we're seeing. We've had so many slashers and basic pyschopaths, between dredge, knight, and now this I think we're getting great variety and killer design. As a ghost face main I look forward to the new map but I mourn for everyone else

@@Tufticles For sure, I like the idea of less humanoid killers and while dredge was a bit off, the singularity is closer for me. I think a next good step would be a animal killer like a werewolf or perhaps a spider. The maps could also use some pizazz imo, lots of empty fields and bland abandoned areas, lately it's been more visually interesting but some more creative locales would be nice 👍

After trying it, I don't really like the way your camera is sent to biopods. When I'm in chase and just want to infect a survivor, I usually accidentally go into another biopod and because I don't know the maps perfectly I don't remember which one I need to go back to. And because each biopods keep their original view angle, you can't really predict where it's gonna look because the control was accidental. Otherwise, the gameplay is really cool

Based on your description the EMPs come in boxes, a small quality of life change for the survivor side please change it from boxes to making one it would make it so much more interesting

the only reason i dont see emps getting changed might be cause some players make it look so easy to avoid the emp issue like coconutRTS. I wonder if they are over powered or player need to time master the killer.

A change that could be done to the emp. Let it have 2 different ways to be used. 1 is right now where its quick and easy. But it only cleanses you, and doesnt emp cameras. Or 2. You spend 3 or so seconds charging it up to cleanse yourself and emp nearby cameras

I feel if they change the EMP boxes to be similar to vaccine cases aka don’t open by themself and can’t be left over he’d be in a better spot. Very close to be a fun killer that has nice counter-play so both sides can still have fun.

imo, he also need his yellow addon, which allows you to hear survivors, become base-kit. And maybe make it, so singularity can see, which "drones" are broken (but only maybe, need to test it)

also, his cooldown after exiting "drone" seems... compeletely random. sometimes he can recover instantly, sometimes it takes, like, 6-7 seconds. I hope they'll fix it

Imho the emp crates should only charge half way by themselves or 80% or whatever at least make them unable to pick up in chase

He has built in Spirit Furry, Eduring, Brutal & Surperior Anatomy. Teleport mid chase more! Keep the green effect on your screen (thats the 4 built in perks). I think ths killer is broken with all that or at least very strong & boring. Infinate teleports with no negitives all positives. Don't teleport to break the pallet with the 2 second delay, just pre teleport & have the Green glow & break it if they go for a stun with 0 stun or use built in brutal. They cant run away, cause infianate teleports lmao.

another thing that I hate abt new map is that alien flower bushes... They SEEM to have hitbox like any other bushes like on red forest or garden of pain. But no, you CAN go right through it. And it's very confusing, especially when they grow near the wall in jungle gyms or near shack. I THINK that I need to go around them and make my path longer, but it's not true. And this bushes are EVERYWHERE in new map so... yeah

Maybe have EMPs make the survivor stand still for like 2 seconds while using it. That will keep it just as strong against pods on gens but make it much more difficult to use during a chase.

i think the strongest and most bothersome part of the EMPs is that you can full on use them mid-chase without being slowed down or disrupted. If the EMPs forced you to at least walk or stand still while you charge it i think that would mitigate some minor annoyances of "wow i skillfully camera shot and infected you mid-chase in a loop, oh but you held W with your EMP great."

I think the box amount needs to be reduced, and that’s it. The creation of EMPs isn’t fast at all, even when speeding it up it’s quite slow, however, with the amount of boxes, the slow speed doesn’t mean anything because by the time you used the last box, the first few have already come back or are essentially about to come back (way too abundant basically)

he can simply replace the emp'd biopod, so he's still a great 3gen killer. Great thing is, u don't have to 3 gen to play him well

if anything you don't have to do the "in spitting distance" 3 gens because it directly hurts you with the EMPS so he excels at the BAD 3 gens that are spread out. Which I think is interesting from a design perspective. With this killer no matter the gen spread it isn't over until that last gen pops (and even then he can also guard the gates)

make the timer after a camera hit(whit an emp) 30 seconds not 1 minute and dont let the teammates get rid of the infection too so they also have to use and emp only the survivor how is holding it gets it off

After trying out the killer in a few bot matches, I don't think this one will be one for me. I always have a problem with killers who suddenly change their pov in some form (Hag, Dredge, Freddy, Sadako. Surprisingly not Demo.) because my brain can't adapt quickly enough to the new view which is sad because thematically I really really like this killer. I wish you could infect them by shooting them and becoming a slightly more powerful M1 killer as well. Granted, I have only played in bot matches so far and those fuckers have a 6th sense when you are in a pod nearby. Maybe against real players it won't be such a detriment/I can use the pods purely at gens.

Kinda weird how the leaks killed hype for me for the anniversary livestream, but seeing all these PTB videos got me hype for the new chapter. Both Killer and Survivor look really cool and the map does too but not looking forward to playing killer on it.

I have a feeling they have so many EMPs on top of the minute long cooldown because they wanted to avoid the whole 3-gen situation as much as possible. All they really need to do is reduce the amount of chests, and make it so they don’t open themselves. Honestly don’t know why they felt they should be able to do that.

I've not played as or against the new Killer yet as I don't do the P.T.B. but I think making it so the E.M.P. chests don't open fully would be the easiest thing to do. Just change the code that if they are under seventy-five percent open they go up to seventy-five percent instead of checking for one hundred percent. The map design team and everyone involved in the game once again fails to understand what makes a map fun in this game. Hint, the map being "dense" is NOT it. Thanks for the video Scott.
