The Spotlight: Broken Record - 2022 sets records for shootings, thefts, drugs and death

Жыл бұрынThe Spotlight may sound like a broken record because in 2022 so many records have been broken. Record numbers of shootings, thefts, drugs and deaths. All this data is collected on crime dashboards and, like a car that's been neglected, the warning lights on these dashboards have been flashing for months.
Tacoma, Washington had 39 homicides as of Dec. 4, the city's deadliest year in four decades. Violence hit a new high in Seattle too. Shootings and shots fired calls are up 144% in Seattle in the last ten years.

When I moved here in 2004, I was told that the car theft in Seattle was absurdly high. Within the first year of being here, 2 (out of 5) of my coworkers had their cars stolen. For whatever reason, it’s a big thing out here.

Because it is supported by law enforcement. Everytime a new law is passed they stop doing something related to it in order to protest. The last big one was about illegally chasing cars so now they ignore all crimes involving cars.

There was a night after clubbing when I couldn't get a hotel room and had to sleep in my car in the middle of a freezing winter. I had to run the car occasionally to warm up and was in the passenger side of the vehicle but I was so scared of getting a dui because I could have just because the keys were in the ignition

It's not really like that so king county makes up for ALOT of area like I live 2 hours away from Seattle and I can see the king county line from my road along with that a lot of the voters in our county are retired and honestly just don't give a fuck anymore and elect pretty faces the mayor of Seattle isn't only destroying Seattle but neighboring cities as well because their solution to their homeless and drug problem is to send them to these next door cities and have them be homeless there's no rehabilitation there's nothing given to them to help them get on their feet because most of them don't want to be off their feet they want their fix we also defended our police departments because of the George floyd riots that shit down a lot of our down town community businesses like all of the east coast if Seattle is slowly dying and turning into Portland

Good ole Seattle left there in 2002 just in the nick of time boy! Fly back on occasion visit sis in lake Stevens and rite back outta there!! It’s horrible what’s become of that beautiful state!! It was the place to be and raise kids back in the 70’s-90’s!!! And make great money. Not no more

The sad part about that is for the drug users it automatically identify them as fake pills instead of looking like real pills. With the colors it makes it harder to crush these and add to other drugs like ice or coke. I'm not for any of this but for users the different colors automatically let's the user know these are fake

Tacoma voters are no smarter than Seattle voters and vote mostly for democrats. The murder rate, crime of every kind is up with stolen cars and other crimes at record highs. There is no reason not to shoplift because the stores lack security and thieves are free to steal what they want. At least the smaller communities like Puyallup are pro active . What is in the future is anarchy if people don't wake up and smell the coffee.

Catch and release policy for underage car jackers is the reason why so many cars are stolen, and car jacked. Violent crimes such as armed robbery often starts with a stolen or car jacked. Longer prison sentences may help with the first step to reduce crime.

It doesn’t mean UNDER .08 . You can/will be charged with driving under the influence if there is ANY alcohol OR drugs in your system so this .08 or .05 is irrelevant and makes ZERO sense and people don’t understand that’s how this works and this number mean NOTHING AT ALL. And In Jersey it’s .04 . But drink at all and get pulled over and your in trouble

Lived in the city for a few years then bought a house in Bothell. Smash an grabs and tweakers EVERYWHERE. I could’ve stayed and sold my house for crazy cash. But the writing was on the wall for me and got outta there in 2016. Live in lil rhody (RI) best decision. Yeah we still got probs out here. But absolutely nothing compared to western Washington. Really miss skiing those mountains and having access to Rainier beer with my friends. Like even if you live in Darrington, middle of nowhere. You still gotta content with tweakers and the cartel. You guys need the national guard, too far destroyed for the cops to do anything.

There is no point for a auto theft task force . Whenever someone reports a car theft it usually involves a car jacking which that means that is a property crime… There is no suspects out here stealing vehicles in 2022.. if someone has the skills to steal a newer 2022 vehicle then why are they stealing cars in the first place? They should probably be working for a computer software company instead of stealing vehicles

I ride Bycicle. It’s very important to pay more attention of our surroundings. Especially at night. As we are seeing an increase in cyclicaling . I have many lights on my bike.
