Yo: It's Black Friday weekend and we've got rad gifts at scamstuff.com
After all this time, we finally have evidence of the Modern Rogue Effect; the observation of which has mystified the sciences for years, as it defies statistics and stretches beyond the veil of explanation. All guests must eventually fall to our level.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LockPickingLawyer was very generous with his time by dropping by our spot and enriching our understanding of the hidden world of security all around us. It would mean a lot if you give his channel a shot and check out a few of his videos.

Nope, they just weren't loaded. A primer can have enough power to shoot the piston forward, but without the extra pressure from the gunpowder igniting it won't be powerful enough to do anything, there was definitely some underpowered blanks and blanks with just no powder in them. 1 or 2 instances of it happening sure maybe they forgot to cock the piston, but multiple instance of failure on the same strip of blanks says a lot.

To the people who were saying the ramset wasn't working because they weren't resetting it by pulling forward the barrel that's clearly not the case. They even pulled it back at 2:10 and in still didn't work the next shot. What happened was that the editor most likely just cut out the parts where they were reloading it to shorten the video. In addition, the person they were doing it with (LockPickingLawyer) has been using it for years now and I somehow doubt that he still doesn't know how to reload it.

There are 3 different powder loads for the blanks. They are used depending on the length of nail 1"-3" and what you are trying to drive the nail into. Nailing a 2x4 to concrete, blocks, bricks and etc. So I guess a larger powder load could do significant damage to.larger locks to..

You aren't using the Ramset right. You have to pull out the barrel each time you fire it to reset the piston. Maybe read the instructions on the tool first.

I put up ceilings so I used one of those guns often, and it ALWAYS fails to fire once or twice per strip. So annoying.

Ryan Sullivan rotate the shot. They are rimfire cartridges so if it misfires just twist it in the strip and try again

to make the counter have more impact they could have it present at the beginning of every episode so we can track how good they have been doing about their safety stuff.

@Colorado Strong nah most European countries won't allow you to own a gun for self protection, just shooting sports and hunting usally. Differs from country to country, I think France can own handguns for self defence, same with northern Ireland.

The ones I work with on the building site in the Netherlands are gaspowered, and thus less powerful. Colleague told me you need a license for the cartridge based versions.

Average Picker MythBusters tested this, and concluded that the lock wouldn’t turn to shrapnel, nor would the bullet ricochet

Excuse me if I don’t trust mythbusters when it comes to the strange things bullets can do. (If you’ve spent any time with firearms you’ve likely seen some oddities.) Plus there is the issue, locks don’t always break open due to a bullet. (Which you can clearly see in that same episode) The ramset, when placed probably will break the vast majority of locks with one or maybe two strikes. (Even higher security locks) Master 3s have stayed together from bullet strikes. Plus: Try shooting a lock in even semi private especially within city limits. Yes the ramset sounds like a small caliber round going off, but the difference is when the police show up. Would you rather explain, it’s a ramset, or it’s a loaded pistol you were firing? Let’s say you take the criminal approach and are up to no good: Being caught with a ramset vs a firearm is a huge difference.

The piston got stuck in the extended position because you're using these without the backing of a steel nail and concrete to stop it travelling that extra 1/4 inch too far. Leaving a much bigger void for the gases to harmlessly fill, And ultimately only creating a fraction of the power. That's my guess!
