You might want to consider 2 inputs. 1. Buddhism was a monastic religion, dependent on grants from rulers. It did not go deep enough into lives of individuals like Sanatan Dharma. A follower of Sanatan Dharma could simple continue with Pujas inside her house, even if temples were destroyed by Islamic invaders. Hence when the funding sources were cut off, the monks went away and did the religion. 2. The philosophy of Buddhism was simply not strong enough to counter Islam. That is why Sanatan Dharma is possibly the only religion in the world has has survived the proselytising Abrahamic religions for over 2000 years. The basic philosophy is very strong.

Namaste im a 14 year old ex- Muslim from nigeria Africa I have found solace and happiness in the teachings of lord buddha and I want to become a Buddhist I have taken the tri-ratna but by myself because there’s no Buddhist monks that I know in nigeria and my parents don’t know am I a Buddhist so I want to know must a monk be there or not because I want to know if I’m practicing dhamma correctly as one of my biggest dreams is to spread dhamma in Africa and spread the teachings of lord buddha . buddha was not a god or a prophet. He was known as the Doctor of the Mind to be very precise. one can be a muslim, athiest, hindui, christian and still practice buddhism - as the laws of suffering are same for all.

We'll that might be true. But what I meant to say is that just like a physician can be a Muslim, Hindu or Christian. So too any of them can be Buddhist. It is not of any concern (of Buddhists) for people to a Muslim, Hindu, etc while they practice Buddhism.

Just start with the Three Refuges. Practice three Pure Precepts: do no evil, do only good, do only good for others (purify the heart). Repent of your past karma and let it go, the habits and impulses which drive you to do evil. Beware the three poisons: greed, hatred, and delusion. Practice generosity, virtue, patience, diligence, compassion, tenderness, joy for others, equanimity, and gratitude. Sit quietly by yourself twice everyday. You will see the Buddha's love (the perfection of wisdom, which is greater than any human understanding) enter into your life and transform your dealings with others. Thus will you overcome fear. Blessed are we to encounter the Buddha Dharma in this lifetime. You do not need a monk to do these things. Pray for help from the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and remain humble and diligent. Don't forget: we work for the liberation of all beings, whoever they may be. Our desires may be inexhaustible, but we will extinguish them. The lessons we must learn may be infinite, but we will learn them. For the Great Way is unattainable through any feat of our own--nevertheless, we will attain it. Bless you, and gassho.

A best, practical measure is to keep reading Dhamma books everyday. First research and gather standard Buddhism books, then keep reading at least one page a day. After some time, you'll find your own path to the Nibbana/Enlightenment.

One of the main reason apart from everything mentioned is geography of Bengal, Bengal Delta gradually developed after deposition of alluvial soil from Ganga and brahmaputra, muslim ruler facilitated settlement of landless newly converted muslim in this area and granted them these land, hence wide scale muslim settlement developed in Eastern Bengal or Bangladesh

They offered land to whoever willingly converted to Islam , greedy People of Bengal accepted it and converted to Islam. This is the fact. Those who never converted were not greedy.

Majority of the people of East Bengal were very low caste Hindus. They took advantage of the tax reduction and lands from the Mughal Emperors who started the mass conversion of the low caste Hindus. Muslims are concentrated in the East Bengal which has become East Pakistan and now Bangladesh. Turks were not interested in coverting the local population, but the Mughals were, from the year 1500 onwards. There are not many Muslims in West Bengal until 1977, except for the illegal immigrants encouraged by the CPIM first and then the TMC.

I am a Maldivian. Any idea of how Maldives became a Muslim country? Because It was known that before Islam Buddhism and Hinduism was there on Maldives and even monks lived there still some old ruins are there in some islands...We already have a story of Arab travellers and setteling there related to a superatural beast, but I would love to know the truth if you will...🙏

I don't know in detail, but Maladweepa (mala = garland, dweepa = islands) was probably Buddhist immediately prior to contact with Arabs. It became Muslim because of capture of maritime trade routes in Indian ocean after rise of Arab Caliphates. It was probably initially settled by some branch of Vedic tribes from Sri Lanka, linked to modern Simhala, but there must have been non-Vedic Dravida influence as well, from what is now Kerala. Kerala was part of ancient Tamil country.

We were namashudra Hindus who lived unconverted under Islamic rules within peer pressure of neighbours, later tried to genocide by Muslim mobs in 1950s and forced to flee Faridpur and Dhaka. Maharashtra was a Buddhist state of india in ancient and mediaeval period but later on Hinduism took over. Here,many people have again went back to Buddhism after embracing their age old religion of forefathers. There are many Buddhist caves present in Maharashtra, India dating back to 2000 yrs old. Many Buddhist Dynasties ruled here. We are happy that we again went back to our forefathers religion: Buddhism ☸️❤️

That was largely due to travels of Ashoka the maurya king .there were lot many entertainers in his troupe to stage a drama ,music ,singing etc the surname of many people are taken from the stage designation like sutradhar ,geete ,pattala that later became patil ,etc .like in Brahmins there are purohit the performer of yagya ,adhvaryu the designer of yagyashala etc

@@kartikyadav6282 in your dreams.😆 It was just opposite. Maurya,satvahana,and many more dynasties were Buddhist. The caves in Maharashtra are Buddhist,way old than any Hindu temples. Today's Navsanatani hindu don't know the actual history and heavily rely on KZfaq channels rather than history books and archeological evidences. Many Hindu's are converted people at the time adi Shankaracharya. 😆 Better you should know the real history and not the fake propogated by Navsanatani KZfaq channels.

Low caste Hindus were still Hindus, they fled Bangladesh. It is the upper castes that converted, especially the Rajputs and Kshatriyas, even Brahmins(see Bhumihar Pathan) . Isa Khan, Rajiv Locahan, Jalaluddin ibn Ganesh. Atleast 10-12% of East Bengal was Buddhist even till 1900 census. Then partition happened and Pakistan army and Muslim League wiped off all non Islamic communities, they almost wiped off Hinduism as well. Most migrated to West Bengal. See most Hindus in Bangladesh do not have upper caste surnames, coz they converted or fled, only the lower castes held their ancestral identity. The Barua community in Bengal is Buddhist.

The invaders and rulers only likely converted 10-20% of the population, and that too mostly urban and upper class. The absolute majority of about 80-90% converts without question were converted by the sufis. That is same for everywhere in South Asia.

There is no border line between Hinduism and Buddhism. Divide created by evengalist christans. The King of Thailand says he is descendent of lord Ram. Authaya is Ayodha and Thailand is a Buddhist country. Worlds largest Hindu temple is in Cambodia a Buddhist country.

One of the most important reasons which is not mentioned anywhere: Bengal is a late "newcomer" to the Bharatiya civilization. It actually entered the dharmic society in a strong sense only after Gupta empire. It is said that Mahavira travelled to East Bengal and was stoned and got badly injured, which tells a lot about the nature of the people living there.

Buddhist weavers fled to Odisha from Bengal to escape persecution centuries ago. Now they reside in maniabandha village of Odisha. They speak Odia, their clothes are used in jagannath temples. They are the only last living traditional brown Indian remnant of Buddhism in India. My great grandfather had a Buddhist maid who was so strict a vegetarian that she once threw her grocery items when my grandmother asked her if she was carrying fish in her bag

Buddhism was never majority in east bengal present bangladesh yes they have quite influence but their majority were always hindu mainly lower caste who are converted during bengal sultanate and mughal by impose jizia tax and influenced by sufi also. I am also a bengali from west bengal.

I don't get why Buddhists get mad when we Hindus say that we Consider Buddha as an Avatar of Vishnu. Even if they don't want to believe Buddha being counted among Hindu Gods still Hindus have atleast attempted to Integrate Buddha, no such attempt was made by Buddhists as far as we know. We never disrespected Buddha and gave him the Same Spot That The Greatest of Our Gods Hold, yet they went and helped Islamic Invaders cause they couldn't stand the Gesture of Inclusivity Attempted by Hindus and got Wiped Out from Indian Subcontinent as a Reward for Helping those Islamic Invaders. Karma Hit Them Hard and its not Buddha's Fault but The Fault of his Disciples for Making Bad Decisions.

There is no proof of persecution of Buddhist by Hindus as buddhism itself is one of sampradaya in hinduism like Shivaism, Vaishavite, Shaktaism, etc. Even most people will go to buddhist monastaries to pray and no one will say no it if asked to pray there. heck hindu diety and buddhu is sometimes worshipped side by side. You can see this phenomena in south east asia where in many buddhist countries pray to buddha and hindu dieties like ganesh, saraswati, etc. Even Japanese gods are hindu and budha related dieties and also native diety of japan

Hatred for hindu varnashram dharm is deeply ingrained in Buddhism from its inception .this hatred became political with time after maurya Dynasty .they were weak in character and ,like the frog in jataka tales that befriended a snake to teach a lesson to the hindu king .they sided with the invading criminal Arabs as in sindh and brought the downfall of king dahir .they successively lost Afghanistan ,Pakistan Kashmir ,Bengal .even now when a low caste gets converted to Buddhism in Nagpur they take an oath of hatred to Shiva visnu ,Brahma and other hindu gods .Hindus accepted Buddha as incarnation of Vishnu and Buddhists rewarded them with hatred .

Why did India put Buddhist Darmachakra on their national flag? Nowadays India is a Hindu country and they called themselves Hindusthan. They have their own Hindu symbol and they can put it on their flag instead of Buddhist Darma Chakra. Ironically it's looks like a crusade country use crescent and star for their flag and Muslim country uses a holly cross on their flag.Hindus was the great persecutor of Buddhism not only Muslims.

And they keep worshipping all that belongs to or part of the sampradayas of Sanatana Dharma and follow each others traditions, celebrate each others evolved cultures and vice versa. Very informative video. Lack of unity among indians was the only reason of foreign rule in india 🇮🇳. Benglis offered the least resistance to muslim invasions and easily fell to conversions thus east bengal (which is now Bangladesh 🇧🇩) became a muslim majority area while neibhouring states bihar, assam, tripura and mizoram did not .
