When khilji arrived he was ill ..none of his hakim was able to cure him...one indian vaidya (principal of nalanda university) came to cure him..but he refused he told if nalanda has great knowledge then cure me using quran ...rahul sri bhadra gave him quran to read .he applied medicines on pages ..as he lick his finger to turn pages og quran he got medicine in this way..and git cured within some days... he refused to admit that Indian doctors and their knowledge were superior to his wife's and their masters'. In a regrettable decision, Bakhtiyar Khilji chose to destroy the roots of Ayurveda. In 1202 AD, he set fire to the grand library of Nalanda University, which reportedly housed over 9 million manuscripts.
