I mean, it used to be a hole where the umbilical cord would run and nutrients would go through into the liver if I remember correctly, and after you're born, that hole closes up and becomes your belly button. One of the things I find cool about umbilical cords is that, even though the umbilical cord on the outside has fallen off, the part of the umbilical cord on the inside of your stomach, that's connected to your liver(?), doesn't fall off or rot away after you're born, it kind of just stays there your entire life.
