My 60 inch just broke after 9 years. I can’t say I am gentle with it. Anything you use as much as I have will eventually break down!

Mine did the exact same thing, replace all the brackets and bolts with the heavy duty kit Hustler came out with or more problems will continue, I have 1,234 hrs. on my SD and a couple weeks ago I replaced mine and now it does better than it did new, also bought a new XD but I like my 2014 SD better.

I replaced all of the half inch drive bolts with grade eight bolts I did use the nine sixteen drive bolt that came with the new transmission crossbrace. I forgot to say it broke my new drive belt I but on it about three months ago.

Follow-up: $254 and 3 hours later... it's back up and going. Dealer said there was a "service advisory" but they wouldn't cover any of it. If they had even lied and told me they were discounting the parts I would feel better... as is it will probably be my last Hustler. I'm tickled they've learned from their mistakes and incorporated the fixes into their new machines, but they did so by putting it out there and letting John Q. Public test it for them... and then billed us for it. Anyhow, thanks for the video, and good luck to those about to deal with this mess. I understand how you feel I had to buy Tran brace & belt out of my buy pocket because the warranty ran out , but now they do but a stronger brace on the new ones now. Thank you CJ Ford for taking time watching my video sorry too hear about your break down and cost.

Mine just did the exact same thing. I mean seriously, the break looks the exact same, snapped the bolt on the opposite side.... but mine also broke the bracket that the transmission hangs from above... I welded them both to get it back up to the shop. I'm with you, this should be a recall!

Can't complain I guess I've had my raptor sd for 6 or 7 years but mine jus broke last week dealer wanted $180 for a new brace... ordered the same thing off line shipping and all for $106...came in today got it changed out and done cut my yard

Mine broke 2 times right after warranty. This is a engineering defect and Hustler knows it. I am trying to get them to supply the parts and I will do the labor again.

My Raptor SD did the same damn thing. That bracket broke causing the wheel and the hydro to be sideways. Also the back bracket broke too.

Sorry you had that cross brace break on you my brother. Hopefully the factory will replace it for you even though warranty is out. I tried to get the factory to support the video with a "resounding NO". Sorry my friend.

Thank you Max that’s ok , I don’t care if they support my video or not , I alway said good things about the Hustler Raptor SD thats kind of a company they are , well the next one won’t be a Hustler brand. There a lots of good zero turns on the market now.

Would it cause the hydro belt to keep jumping off?

Yes it can cause the belt to jump off be sure to check the side brackets front and back for missing bolts or loose bolts and broken brackets

@@michaeljessie1853 engineering defect.it was the left rear bracket,front bracket.i traded it for a newer model with more durability,.the 18 hp Kawasaki out dided the 22 hp kole,much faster.

I have a 54-in Raptor and it has broke the bolts on the crossmember two times and I don't have even 200 hours on it

Sorry to hear that Larry , I think my SD 54 had just little over hundred hours on it when the transmission bracket broke I also had couple bolts broke , before the transmission bracket broken . I replace all bolts an use grade 8 bolts an replace transmission bracket. But the warranty was out I had it over 3 years. I don’t know how long you had your Raptor If it is still under warranty , take it to the dealership.

We need to file a class action lawsuit aginst Hustler. That is fraud and breach of warranty.

That the time it happen I was piss my warranty had expired I had to paid out of pocket about $200.00 it cost me. But it has been over two years ago. I don’t have it now I trade it in for a XDX. I understand what you saying. They do fix it under warranty no cost to you. Every mowers I owe things broken I had to fix , cost out of my pocket . There’s no perfect mower out there I know of.
