The reason why flights are more expensive is because there’s not as many people that can afford to fly so the flights are not as full, fewer people means higher fares per passenger. It’s the same in the US on routes that are not as full. Ever wonder why the Vegas flights are so cheap? Because those flights are always full. I live in Florida and there is no direct flight between West Palm Beach and Orlando.

Why not work on a speed rail running through Africa? It's like none of the leaders in Africa talk. It can unite the continent and since people can't afford the flight they should at least be able to do this
@fdama

@@VC9wrwiimo too costly and not justified. There is not much demand for travel between these African countries. There are very few people who travel for business and very few tourists from the continent who travel to other countries on the continent. Most tourists are probably from Europe which visit the usual places.

No! People are not the same everywhere! That is a stupid statement. Yes there is crime everywhere for example but some places are much worse than others. If you compare the average weather (temp) between Africa and India, it's quite close, and India has the monsoon. So what is the explanation? I think it's more about the culture and the fact that Africa is rich (resources), and they create false narratives to protect the racket. If the people were so indolent (and I am not saying that some aren't), why would they travel across the world to go to the most competitive countries like the USA and thrive? I mean they do it every year.

Always good to hear some honesty from a content creator. I was getting tired of people who have never visited Africa (or have only gone for a week’s vacation) speak about it like it’s god damn Wakanda and everything is perfect there. No place is perfect. Not Africa. Not Brazil. Not America. Not Thailand. It’s about finding the right place FOR YOU and what you can tolerate. For me? I know that I have no patience for people trying to scam/use me… and I have no patience for people who waste my time either. The next time you hit Asia you should really go to Japan… because it’s a completely different experience to Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines. Amazing cities there with tech and natural beauty. Clean. Organized. And people are polite. One of my favourite countries. Keep up the good work 👍

But, you still get scammed in America, you just feel great about those scams. I mean, your food, education and life outlook is a scam in my opinion, as an African. I feel like we live in the real world and you guys live in a fantasy where easy credit creates fake wealth and most people die poor after working for 30-40 years. We have land and grow our own food but are mostly poor but happy. I am not saying be naive but it is just a different life. People just don't have money in Africa. I would not move to another country, personally, because I think my country works for me perfectly. I just think it is unfair for Americans to expect any other country to be like the richest country in the world. But, I understand why he has to tell people not to expect those things.

There are four things about traveling: (#1) there are good and bad people in all countries and cultures regardless of skin color it is just a matter of how frequently you meet the bad ones. (#2) some people will try to take advantage of you where ever you go. It is a matter of how often. (#3) no place, culture, or race of people are perfect. It do seen at times some people are less perfect than others. (#4) Sometimes the problems, trouble, or issues that seem to follow us from place to place may actually be in the mirror looking back at us. And it is just we have to go from place to place to try to get away from it before we can finally accept it and make the appropriate adjustments.😊 These are just food for thought and not specifically directed towards or intended for anyone individual. I know for me personally in my first trip to England I found myself initially having problems feeling out of my element until the ladies noticed it and pulled be back in the social circles where I adjusted and really started loving the place. I never would have found that out about myself had I not travelled to and was placed in that situation.
@PelaSmooth

You summarised this perfectly. Doesn't matter what country you go to. You're going to get scammed one way or another. In developed countries its high taxation 😂. The governments literally scam you😂. You can't travel and expect infrastructure to run as smoothly as where you came from. That's just one of the things, as experienced travellers we put up with. Also forget about expecting customer service that's similar to the US or Europe. Doesn't exist so you just adjust yourself with good humour. It's all about experiencing something different and not the same.

Auston: It really pains me to hear your feedback. You're not being harsh. Why do you think Africans like me are in the United States? Trust me, I want Africa to improve but it does get really frustrating to see mistakes repeated endlessly. The travel difficulties between African countries go back to the days when they were ruled by different European powers. Traffic was encouraged between the African colonies and the capital of the European country that controlled them. An African traveling from Tanzania to Angola? To do what there? But it's been many years since the 1960s when most African countries got their independence. There should have been much more progress by now. Don't lower your standards. The worst we can do is to show Africa that we expect less of her. And whenever you notice a bright spot, shine a light on it. Good luck with your travels.

As an African instead of leaving because of the bad things we should stay and change them. Leaving will not bring the changes we want in this continent. 12:22 Auston, America is a debt/credit-based society, which creates a fast-paced environment driven by the need to repay debts. In contrast, Africa operates on a cash basis, leading to a more relaxed pace of life without significant debt burdens. You can leverage this difference to your advantage by outpacing them. Your ability to operate swiftly enables you to juggle multiple businesses while they struggle to keep up. Consider bringing manufacturing business ideas from your travels in Latin America or Asia to Africa, focusing on manufacturing or packaged goods. With low minimum wages and a low cost of living, you can manufacture goods inexpensively and export them to America for higher prices, potentially becoming a millionaire. Reflect on this opportunity and explore the possibilities it holds. 🖤✊🏿💫

I just wish that government officials could watch these kind of videos to see the areas where they need to improve. The lack of air connectivity between neighbouring countries is really irksome, and is really bad for buisness. My second country to visit was Uganda. They asked me to pay 5 for their visa 50$ usd. I asked why because i have an East African vksas that covers three countries including Uganda. The immigration officer in Uganda told me, his colleague at the immigration in Kenya put a stamp on my passport but he didn't put the visas. I told him tbis is not my problem, i don't work for the immigration. Xo, if his colleague has made a mistake, i shouldn't pay fir that. He told ne if i does pay for the visa, i cannot enter the country. So, i had to pay again. Whfn i was about to enter Rwanda, same thing happened. They adked me to pay again. I was pissed. One guy i met in Uganda, sma Lebanese who owned the hotel where i stayed in Kampala told me, he bought the East African visas for 100$ usd, and he was asked to pay in Kenya and in Rwanda sgain So, whfn i arrived back home on Canada, i file a dispute with my Bank. I claimed to my Bank.that i got scammed in Africa and my Bank claimed the money from Tanzania Consulate. I got refunded my 100$ usd.. Tanzania is a tourist destination, they need to learn English to be able to communicate with tourists from different regions of the world. Don’t be too quick to criticize or judge. Sometimes it is a good idea to be patient especially when you don’t understand what people do and say. I once drove for Uber & Lyft in Houston, Texas, and there were times when riders would call me asking where I was. That behavior used to piss me off, but I later found out that some mobile carriers have poor service in certain areas of the city, state or country.

I was training one guy on how to organise linen in the hospital and many times when I did not speak with him he was on his phone and sometimes just standing there watching me work not using his initiative to support me. He also said this that because I was his boss that I should give chocolate and snacks and I said buy it yourself you getting paid. 😂😂. Too much familiarity to be honest.

Actually, what you described is a common feature amongst African countries. It just varies to the degree it happens depending on the country. Paying someone under the table to do a job for which they get a salary to do is very common in Africa. This is a symptom of a big problem which is low wages. Wages are so low in Africa that they try to find underhand methods of making ends meet. Whether you work in government or the private sector, it's just never enough to sustain an average existence. Am not making excuses for them, but am just simply pointing out the reality.

I find the same experiences with African customer service. Lol they're not so rigid when it comes to work. It's more about being stress-free and more about living a social life. America is so stressful and full of rules. When I go to Africa I have to calm down and take everything easy because that's how the culture is. It's not about rush rush in Africa which is refreshing. You'll stress yourself out if you want everything so structured like America. It might take me a day to get one task done while in Africa which I learned why they're not stressed out looking 10 years older than their actual age.

No, you are not being too critical, but it does help to keep an open mind in the sense that everything you will experience or have experienced already will not be the same as in America. But, I am sure you already know this so... When I was deployed to Uganda when I was in the Air Force; I and my team experienced similar issues daily. We just learned to work through them and realized that this is not America but we have a job to do. We had the support system to get things done even to get visas but were on official passports so... Yes, there were times we had to pay extra money to get people to do their jobs even though it was their job. Like you, I enjoyed my time as well as the experiences from being in Uganda. I wish I could go back or could have gone back to visit before I retired.

It is great you explored Tanzania. On uber situation has nothing to do with the drivers. The app has been built based on first-world countries' infrastructure. So, it can be hard to pinpoint exactly and that is why they asked you. Off course, they think you might know because you look just like a brother. They can’t think sort of you’re African-American. It can come across maybe you are the second generation that speaks English with a nudge of Swahili, knows whereabouts. They can’t separate that sometimes. In the visa situation there was no need to do all that, with an American passport you get a visa right at entry, and if you paid for East Africa upon entry, then you were good to go. Yes, customer service is still a challenge. Overall, if someones help you, whether is getting girls, a party, food etc Of course they do expect something more like a tip. On Airlines-yes you can find a few direct flights, however, nothing is different from the USA, you can fly to certain places direct depending on where you’re flying from, You have to realize the 54 countries are just the same as 50 states. Unfortunately, you flying to a country. It is also logistics, just because you want a direct flight then it should be one. Great video!
