600 grit? I don't think I've seen heavy cutting compounds like 3d , scholl concepts, farecla etc take out that level of defect. Will need to wait until it's available here in Australia.

Hi DIY! I just used your GSP combo on my vehicle and it was an absolutely incredible experience to use. I did love that it didn’t stain my plastic trim but I am dumbfounded by it at the same time. Can you help me understand how the Gold Standard Polish doesn’t stain the plastic trim compared to other polishes in the market? Thanks guys!

It’s actually what’s *not* in the polish. No cheap ingredients 👍

Yvan, Nick, any idea if or when these products will be sold into New Zealand? I can find them at several retailers over in Australia, but nothing here as of yet. Would love to try the GS Polish, GS Pad and your Red Waffle Jewelling Pad using Yvan's Rotary technique when it's released sometime soon.

Unfortunately not, but please ask your favourite distributor to contact us.

Would you recommend this polish and a particular pad for a Tesla model 3 P with very finicky black paint? As a lot of people are nervous about Tesla paint, but I’ll be doing it myself if you guys ship to England? Thanks for all the “Gold Standard” videos… if you pardon the cheesy pun!

So with the gold standard polish u dont need to do a cutting compound?! This is a 2 in 1?!
@diydetailofficial11 ай бұрын
It’s a pad dependent polish, so you would want a more aggressive pad to get more cut (like our Wool Cutting Pad). There are compounds out there that *will* cut more than this, but the versatility this gives you from cut to finish (just by switching pads) is amazing 😀

I tried the DIY Wool pad on the 3401. Not sure about that combo. Waffle pad is great, though.
@diydetailofficial Жыл бұрын
appreciate the honesty, what were your thoughts?
@orthodox1717 Жыл бұрын
@@diydetailofficialit was a rough ride. Haven’t really tested the performance aspect, per say. Need some more time with it. The 3401 likes longer pile wool pads, like the traditional LC purple wool, in my opinion.
@stevenv9224 Жыл бұрын
Yes the polish and pads are great am a witness to that for sure 👍👍👍👍👍
@diydetailofficial Жыл бұрын
@@orthodox1717 yes our wool pad is primarily designed to be used with a long stroke machine. With the 3401, speed 4-5 with no pressure, and only one spray of polish on the pad.
@orthodox1717 Жыл бұрын
@@diydetailofficialthank you. Yvan, as far as cutting power, generally speaking, is the 3401 pretty powerful?

@diy detail Yvan, if i use a rotary with the wool, what setting from 1-6(or rpm) would you recommend, and likewise with the gold pad? also, is a 1000w 8mm DA going to be effective at cutting well and in a timely manner for deep scratches? Cheers
@diydetailofficial6 ай бұрын
Speed 1 for any pad on a rotary 8mm is not very effective for defect removal.

Would you call this a one step polish? Or all in one? I’m new to polishing…all I’m looking for is a paint enhancement…can I achieve that with this system?
@diydetailofficial Жыл бұрын
It’s a one step polish, all in one products contain a form a protection. You can easily achieve paint enhancement, and even paint correction depending on the pad used.
@ItsMeYourRealDad7 ай бұрын
If the polish can cut and jewel, and is also pad dependent, and if the waffle pad can both cut and jewel, does that make it polish dependent? If I am using gold standard polish with the waffle pad, am I cutting or polishing? Do I need to do anything different to achieve cut or polish? Is it all about the pressure applied? Btw I am aware of your 5-5-5 method, but would you use that to cut an entire car?
@diydetailofficial7 ай бұрын
If you’re needing heavy defect removal than our Wool pad is needed. For swirl removal, the yellow waffle does all you need. Pressure for more than a few seconds creates heat, reducing cut.
@ItsMeYourRealDad7 ай бұрын
@diydetailofficial i do own your wool pads, so I will use them for the heavier work. The question was... if the waffle pad can both cut and jewel/polish with the gold standard polish, then how do I adjust my method to ensure I am either achieving a cut or a polish when using the two products together? With you ruling out pressure, is it down to machine speed? Sorry about all the questions, I just want to know how to get the most out of your product
