I have women every day tell me they are told by OBGYN influencers to look for a menopause provider throught he NAMS website and I am here to set the record straight that this training isnt more than a money grab for those woth little hormone experience and then they are trained in the ways of big pharmacy

I’ll post it EVERYTIME I can! Went to a NAMS provider and she treated me like SHIT! Brow beat me into a statin and anti depressant, wouldn’t walk her line, she wouldn’t even go over my labs with me!! Picked up my purse, walked out wept for two hours and called Dr Tassone…

Thank you for the good insight- was just gaslit by the NAMS Dr. From the Alloy company- just didn’t expect that so your video answers a lot of questions!

I also did Alloy for three months, other than my mood settling down, I had no results at all. I contacted doctor that was assigned to me to do let her know that the hormones she prescribed weren’t doing anything for me. She offered to raise the dosage, and wanted to charge me another $50 or whatever to get the higher dose. They are very expensive. I think it was around $300 for three month supply.I’ve dealt with two NAMS providers, both of them were useless

Dr. Tassone I’m glad that I happen to find your channel. I’ve been following many great doctors including Dr. Havor and other researchers and learned a lot about hormones. I’m learning more everyday. I was using pellets before because regular gynecologist doesn’t believe in testosterone. I have been looking for another doctor because my NAMS certified doctor was so hesitant to start me on estrogen because my mammogram showed I have a dense breast which is common. I really had to insist that I needed it so she put me on the lowest dose which I don’t think it’s enough. For testosterone, I had to go back to the previous doctor where I got pellet again. This time I told her that I do not want my levels go higher than 100. At lower levels I start feeling joint pain. I will call your office on Monday to schedule an appointment with you. Thank you.

Mary Claire Haver completely turned me off & I stopped following her. I figured out that just because it’s a woman MD, does not make them better. I am a facts person & I want the info, not a sales pitch.

Me too, I saw two different ones. The first one put me on vaginal pills for vaginal atrophy, refuse to give me estrogen otherwise. The second one put me on Lexapro, which I took for a week at half dose. Within two days of taking the full dose, I had severe vertigo so I stopped it immediately. I googled possible side effects, of which vertigo was one, plus just for the hell of it. I googled to see what medication‘s were contraindicated with Lexapro. I’m on two of them. I sent the second doctors office a letter on my patient portal, tell him to cancel my upcoming appointment and why I was cancelling it. Instead of the doctor, taking responsibility for not having research the medication told me that she researched the medication thoroughly, she saw no issues with my taking it, then she said the pharmacist shouldn’t have given Lexapro to me if it would interact with the two medication if it was life-threatening. I sent back a nasty message, told him don’t bother responding to it, don’t bother contacting me

Yup. Me too. Many people are realizing that Dr. Haver only has part of the whole picture, unfortunately.

Read your book first, then hubby & I listened on audio during a recent trip. I just made an appointment today with a local GYN office that I’m hoping will help me with getting started on HRT. 12 years post menopause & I’m tired of being miserable, but didn’t think there was anything I could do about it. I HAD tried Macafem that at least took the edge off of my irritability, but recently tried the Macapause by Symphony; however, after a few weeks, it seemed to make my symptoms worse (depression, bad night sweats & even hot flashes that I had not been having for a while). After stopping it a few days ago, the symptoms have definitely subsided, so just a word of caution to others about it. I’m going back on the Macafem brand. Anyway, I do want to thank you, Dr Tassone, for enlightening me & my husband about options we didn’t know existed. God bless you!

Same here. Went to a NAMS physician's assistant and, while she was quite compassionate, was told I was not a good candidate for hrt because I'm 12 years out and had taken nothing in the interim. I have only recently experienced the increase in belly, hip, and thigh fat. And hot flashes. Nothing from 55 to 67. But she said it would put me at risk for stroke

I just subscribed. I like your honest, no-nonsense approach. It reminds me of the late Dr. John Lee---who was also a champion for women's hormonal health.

I saw Nims provider today and receive no help whatsoever. She told me that estrogen without prevent further bone loss from happening during menopause. She also told me that because I have been on birth control pills and that hasn't helped my joint pain the bio denticle hormone replacement won't work either. I am very discouraged at this point.

Could you please do a KZfaq video on bio denticle estrogens for preventing further bone loss in menopause? Also, would love to hear how to transition from birth control pills to HRT. I love you videos by the way.

Dr Tassone - if not from NAMS, where can interested providers get quality training in menopause and HRT prescribing? It’s not taught in medical schools. I’m sure there are well-meaning healthcare providers that want to help women, plus, I imagine there’s more and more women asking for help now and going forward. What would you suggest if a provider asks you where to get training and support? Who taught you? I hope you’ll answer. Have a good trip! 😊

@@ShawnTassoneMDPhD Have you heard about Dr Louise Newson in the UK? She is THE trailblazer there, not affiliated with any company or organization. She created a fabulous evidence based menopause library/website, podcast, a free app, a menopause charity and has created her own menopause society, because she’s not happy with the existing ones. She also created a free course for healthcare providers worldwide to learn about menopause and HRT prescribing, but anyone can access it and learn, which is so important! The course launched in the fall of 2022 (I believe) and within the first 2 months over 10,000 healthcare providers within the UK and Ireland had signed up for it! The need for training is real!

Doing my own research I found out being on the “ lowest, safest dose( creams) I have gained 10 pounds .. turns out that’s the cause . It’s storing the estrogen in adipose tissue. I need my dose increased to resolve the weight gain . The doc told me.. that’s what HRT does to women 😡 I know more than my doc about hormones .. sad .. I got to get your book !!
@ShawnTassoneMDPhD

That’s not true really I mean fat doesn’t store your estrogen, fat can make estrogen not store it. And what estrogen does is cause you to retain fluid and maybe make your insulin not work as well if it’s too high
