Less than 20% and that 20% tow how often and how far? And if towing is their primary duty, then they should buy a truck that fits for that task. What if CT gets 120 miles when towing? I note that you comment on the differential in expected mileage and the test carried by "Out of Spec", which I watched. Their test result figure came inline with their expectations, the breakdown of which was explained therein. The difference from the Tesla figure was mainly due to the constant highway speed of 70mph. Any vehicle travelling at a constant speed such as that, can and will experience an approximate loss of range of about 15% against travelling at say 50mph, or mixed driving speeds including urban cycle. Then another 5 to 6% due to temperature. I experience this with my EV. Bring us close to the 22% you mention. Yet you dismiss this out of hand! I would expect a much more logical and well thought through comment from a non-partisan review.

The Truth is the 123kwh battery is just to small for the size of the truck. If you are using Air conditioner or Heat during Towing lets say 7000lbs not so aero dynamic typical RV, I am willing to say that the range is going to be 100miles maybe?? if so you are extremely limited to distance you want to Travel. Example I would say I pull my trailer no more than 6hrs and travel avg distance of 433miles max at 65-70miles hr, I would have to charge how many times in between that distance and how long would I have to wait and how many times will I have to disconnect my RV. I am still torn on my decision, my Cybertruck reservation spot is 70k area, yes I like the way it looks, I don't give a shit about bullet proof but whatever, I think it is supper powerful and capable but the Achilles heel is the battery size and because of that I am leaning towards canceling. It sucks because I waited sooo long and was soo excited.

There is nothing wrong with waiting for battery technology to improve. The problem is weight to energy storage capacity. More capacity adds more weight which requires more energy... ICE vehicles have the luxury off starting a trip heavy, and getting lighter as they go. Plus, the energy density to weight for fossil fuels is just pretty hard to get near with current battery tech. Buy a used ICE truck and in 5 years there might be true improvements.

Your needs are not met by current EVs. Remember the size of the batteries of the original cellphones? Compare those over sized bricks to the batteries in today's cellphones. To that add the facts that today's cell phones are on continuouly, are working continuously, and provide hundreds+ additional functions. Battery density and battery storage per volume and weight will and is improving at a relatively rapid pace. Your EV truck with 500 miles of full tow load range is 5 to 10 years in the future. My Tesla with 500 miles of range will arrive even sooner.

Imagine, with real-world traffic situation, accelerating and decelerating most of the time and ascending and descending along the way, with AC, stereo and a couple of passengers, with some tow or languages, you are never going to see more than 200 miles. Your logic regard battery size is one sided. Current batteries are HEAVY. Hauling them around on a daily basis is a significant part of the energy cost of driving an EV. In addition, to double the range you have to double the volume. The current cybertruck had to take all of those factors into account. Thus the current capacity and design. Like truck users who choose to pull a fifth wheel trailer, cybertruck owners will have to sacrifice cargo space and range efficience to be able to go further or haul more for longer distances between charges. Let's be honest, those individuals are only going to be a small fraction of cybertruck owners. PS: There is a reason engineers developed snow tires and someone came up with chains.

And in the Winter (Newfoundland here), I used to own a Dodge Ram pickup with the Hemi, and you could see the gas hand move rapidly to empty! lol. In winter there is no vehicle that maintains its EPA, if someone lets the vehicle warmup and idle in the driveway. Half ! Half the range of what was promised when these people placed their order. The truck is useless for anything other than running around town. The average temperature of the planet is 15° c or 59°f. Temperatures in the high 40’s are not that far off. Elon has stated recently that he doesn’t think that people need more than 300 miles of range in an obvious attempt to excuse than this colossal screw up. Add to the fact you have to drive like a grandma to get 75% of the new lower advertised range IF you run it to ZERO percent. (See: not the real world). My May of 2023 Model Yp had an advertised range of 516 km when I ordered it. And charging to 80% it showed about a 410 km range when it was new. And of course because it’s a Tesla you can’t get anywhere near that when you drive on a trip. But I dreamt of going down 218 km after charging to 100% to our favorite vacation spa and back with the kids. But after six months charging to 80% only yields 358 km. So driving to the beach now after charging to 100% leaves only 30% of battery when we get to our destination that’s 218 km away. So really, you can only count on 250 km of range. That’s about half. No, we did not ever need the 700 km of range that are by turbo Ford SUV gave us. We missed utility of having that range if we wanted it. Same as driving a pick up. Not everyone uses all the utility of having a pick up every time they get behind the wheel, but they have the utility when they need it. The same goes for range. I would not be surprised if these cyber trucks lose the same amount of range as my Tesla does, and thus will relegate these fancy stainless steel trucks to running around town for errands. To run around on glaciers like Tesla shows you in promo videos you’re gonna have to airlift the Tesla onto the ice and maybe you can make it to a third-party charger since it’s downhill from there. No sightseeing, and no camping. I recently rented a Hertz model Y in central Texas and attempted to stop to see friends in southern Colorado and then onto LA. I envisioned taking my coworker to see the southwest that he had never seen. We thought we’d drive through Cortez out of Durango Colorado see Mexican hat, the painted desert and Bryce Canyon and the north rim of the Grand Canyon. But this was not possible in a car with limited range, as we had to barely make it from one supercharger to the next. Through the Navajo nation. I drank the Kool-Aid. We bought $40,000 worth of stock and bought our model Y performance but as they say fool me twice shame on me.

Sorry, your commentary about the dunes video missed the mark. Near the end of the video they cleatly parked the Cybertruck. Implying they had a near accident or other trouble.

I'm an advocate for having a diverse investment strategy. I grew to a 6 figure mark with my portfolio having exposure to different areas of the market, including small and large-caps of the ETF index, blue chip stocks, coins, grade bonds and alternatives like cryptocurrency markets, as this helps manage the overall risk on my portfolio managed by my FA.. Credits to my adviser, Jasper, i have no doubt investing more

Wow I know Jasper. His platform maintains a unique perspective and is very transparent with their investors. Regardless of whether or not he outperforms i will always stay invested as his methods alone with keeping investors in touch with their strategies and outlooks are something that so few managers are capable of and they should follow suit.

It’s a WMD. Don’t buy this. It’s Really bad! It’s going to be sad when this truck is on the road. It will kill so many people. A truck that weighs 6x more than a regular truck that goes 2.7 sec 0-60 is a killing machine - when it hits a school bus full of kids given to a drunk driver. That’s not cool. Not cool at all. Your typical modern car is a tin can- making safety standards and safety ratings on regular vehicles a joke. Your mom’s car is now made out of paper or card board boxes on roads. She is dead. I learned this from Scotty Kilmer.

To defend Tesla Sybertruck, a pointy car with charp corners like Sybertruck is verry bad for AERODYNAMIC. And that comperd to a rounder Model 3, is verry "disappointing" range, because of that. This is not compering Apples to Apples, a more fair comparison is to comper it to a noter pickup truck.

Dude, this is a lame review using other just as lame test videos - the so-called "dune test" was laughable. Any 2WD truck can pass this ridiculous "dune test". The CT looks good on stage with fog-and-lights show, but off-road it is awkward and clumsy. Its futuristic design works well with a bad ass actor with a good camera angle in a Mad Max movie, not with a nerdy overpaid yuppy stuck in a fridge on wheels showing it off to his other nerdy yuppies in an upscale suburban neighborhood.

22% range loss driving at 70 mph? Drive at 55 mph like you are supposed to, problem solved.

Lazy, bad, and sensationalist content to spend 5min harping on the range of the truck going 70mph without caveats. Nearly everyone knows that wind resistance is nonlinearly proportional to speed. Do the same test at 30mph avg speed too, take the average... Then you have something to talk about. 👎👎👎👎 content👎👎👎👎

Bottom line, EVERY EV on the market is a scam. Grossly overpriced, too short a range, and too long to charge. Will that change, perhaps, but for now they are all a scam.
