The idea of keeping the clubhead outside the shaft is a great image. I had been rolling the face open and spraying the ball. This thought fixed me instantly. Awesome. Now if I can figure out how to hit a 70-yard wedge I’ll be golden.

Really like this one. Started using this with your old viktor hovland video (I think). I like the right palm pointing down and away feel. Just feels like the face is always closed even if it's not actually doing that the whole way. Good stuff Eric

I have been doing a lot of 1/2, 3/4, full swing drills getting the face extremely closed to normal and about perpendicular to trail forearm at shaft last parallel position. I also lay sticks on the ground at 45 degrees like an arrow pointing at the ball. I got this from the stack and tilt guys that setup alignment sticks representing path not target anyways basically I try to get the club face closed with the twist away and shaft parallel to the 45 stick coming into the ball to encourage the push draw. I forgot about the video you did awhile back about eye training I need to start putting a stick out towards the start line to train the eyes to look right more as I usually hit straight shots or or the occasional pull. Great video thanks. I wish you weren't an east coaster would love to work with you in person.

Hey Eric, Great video! I have worked hard to get my swing path from inside/out to outside/in. I am finding I am pretty consistently hitting blocks/straight right of target or sometimes a snap hook. I have a slightly strong grip. Any good videos for this problem? It may be a bowing issue so thought this video might be good... Thanks!

Great video. I have a similar issue to hers. I don't swing it open like hers and I've made my grip stronger so it's definitely square to closed at the top, but it opens in transition. I don't have a problem with hitting it right. 95% of my misses are pull hooks. I've tried to use the twist away method and it works well sometimes, but other times I just send them left on left on left. Any tips for the second part of the fix? Getting a release where you're not rolling the face more closed?

I tried this on and off over the last few months and found that I automatically externally rotated my right arm in the down swing, hence solved my slight OTT, however I seem to hold off the release or even slightly open the face and play a very acceptable fade . Do you have any issue with this or should I persevere with a closed face and draw ? Thanks
@CogornoGolf
@CogornoGolf 2 жыл бұрын
That makes good sense Simon! The more you twist the face closed the more your brain has motivation to externally rotate the shoulder on way down (to shallow club, swing path from inside, handle forward, and not over close the face) I would be OK with any ball flight with that....can do either...depends on which you want!

Reminds me a bit of Charlie Hull. Likes to rip at it. She’ll get it all together. The grip adjustment seemed simple enough for her. It’s hard to tell because she so quick taking it back but there might be a bit too much of a move off the ball which would contribute to a hook.
@CogornoGolf
@CogornoGolf 3 жыл бұрын
She's great! IF she can get the face less open going back she won't need to close so much coming down. For her it will be a small step back to take a big step forward!

Hi Eric, I've been having some success with this. Thx. One weird thing is that at the top, the handle literally comes away from the palm of my right hand...so that it's all in the fingers. Is this a problem? Would rather it stay in my hand.
@CogornoGolf
@CogornoGolf 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I would prefer it stay in hands could be several things 1. Push the right palm pad against left thumb pad 2. Make sure arms are not over folding or you are over swinging due to poor body pivot in backswing
@billybastar4022
@billybastar4022 3 жыл бұрын
Great lesson. The last few shots near the end of the video displayed another issue..she has the ball too far back in her stance. That will cause her to close down the head as well producing a hook as well.
@CogornoGolf
@CogornoGolf 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Bill! Definitely a few things to work on...but we need to change that club face angle imo IF she can get the face less open going back she won't need to close so much coming down. For her it will be a small step back to take a big step forward!
@billybastar4022
@billybastar4022 3 жыл бұрын
@@CogornoGolf totally agree. Your. Ideas have helped me do that exact thing. The by product of fixing path and face angle exposed my issue with ball position in the stance, in my case too far forward of middle, which led to a open face. Regardless, she is in great hands with Eric the Great in her corner. Hope you had a wonderful and safe Easter!

@CogornoGolf
@CogornoGolf 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Greg! There are several options and pieces included in downswing to square face For Carl we wanted to start with the grip (as hers was very weak) That lead to face too open which made her over close coming down Supination is palm up of lead arm...more on that here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rLGkjcxjzqu3g3k.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/adaHabKQvq7IgH0.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eNKKpcyG1babfqc.html

First of all is much easier if her arms wouldn't be leaning about 30-40° away from her on the first 2 feet.... swing it closer .... more vertical/inside instead of reaching ... makes the new grip easier too ;) Good videos....
