I think they are called bowden tubes because it is a bowden extruder set up vs a direct drive set up. The ptfe is just the material it is made out of.

The 3D looks and sounds like a lot of fun. I’m thinking that for me a laser is going to be more useful and profitable. $300 to get started doesn’t sound like too bad a price tag. It wouldn’t take too many side hassle projects to make that back. Great video Jake. BTW, have you turned any pen blanks with the PTFD in it? Ken Moon indicated that it doesn’t turn like the resin and causes some issues. I’m just wondering what your thoughts on it are.

Does the pla cause any issues while turning? Ive been looking at getting a resin printer so the densities are similar.

Great Video, i'm really liking the newer generation of 3d printers... Down the rabbit hole you'll go, you just open Pandora's box! Looks like bambu is stealing a page out of reality play book, ready to go printers or for the older generation "plug & play" 🤣 My first 2 printer was a printrbot and folgertech i-3, kit printers. 3rd printer (some assembly require), Tevo tornado with lots of mods. 4th printer, box stock creality ender 3 s1 printer. I am done with modding printers, I just want to print. Slicers and CAD programs are enought to keep one busy. I'm curious about the pen banks, like how they hold up over time? How visable are the layer when turned (one of the reason I was looking at a resin priners, better print quality.)? How is it going to react to the different types of resin and their tempatures? I know alot of it comes down to filament type and settings of one's printer. Wait til you try the "rainbow" filament in one of your clear with a little color drizzled in pours?

Hey man I got the same printer and I have an oddball question might be about the slicer: Im trying to print this "cat key hook" model and theres this particular part in the main body of it thay has this lever that starts a layer or 2 floating. The slicer says so, and my prints are failing with or without supports. I see many people have successfully printed it in the same orientation Im trying to as well. Any suggestions?

The problem here is if this printer does break down and it will the beginner will not be able to fix it and it use so much filament its stupid so as far as the best beginner 3d printer, not at all no matter what printer you get for your first printer you need to learn about the printer how to fix and maintain it and you need need to learn the software i do have one of theses and when a problem happens and they do trust me you better understand how a 3d printer works so you can fix it without bein frustrated, this why building one from scratch will give you some much needed knowledge.
